Kevin was rude to the point of hanging up on us. He doesn't listen and just talks over you. Watch your wallet too. Be wary of his loan programs. I had 2 occasions to do business with them. The first was not good at all. He sold us a terrible loan and a couple of years later he stated "You need to get out of that terrible loan!", the loan he sold us. I am surprised to see the negative remark, because every time that we have called with questions, they have always been courteous and professional. "Dead in The Water!" Heard about him on the Rick Roberts and Hannity programs. His ad said they could help "almost anyone" so I called in about doing a re-fi on a home with minimal equity. "We're dead in the water - nothing I can do" is what he told me. Shortest phone call I've pretty much ever had. Of course, a week later I found a broker that could help me. My advice? I heard the commercial on the radio, and figured I'd work with a local business. It was painless, they saved me $500-600 a month in bills and whatnot. I had a complicated paperwork situation, but they think "outside the box" to make the process as easy as possible (Of course, no re-fi is super easy). And, I requested that they only communicate via email since that's the most convenient for me, and they met that request as well even though it required more effort on their part. Started to work with Mr. Kevin Lyons himslef. So far have not even heard back from him other than him saying he is out of town and will call back in in 2 days. Week later he still not called back. He is just working on a refi for us or even HELOC. He is not even able to supply his rates, fees or anything we ask for. At first all was going well. Supplied all the info he requested, and seemed like it was a open and shut case but then he is like a ghost, no word from him or his office at all. I strongly would suggest to us this firm ONLY as a last resort. They seem to not be able to work for the common person. During the time we are waiting for anything from him, the rates have gone up twice. It is much better that you keep looking for another company to do your business unless you have years to wait to even just get a call, get the rates or fees they charge, these people are NOT transparent with their dealings and should be avoided with your needs. If a company can not even give you any idea of what they even charge is a red flag. STAY AWAY. read more

Do not use Jon, who represents Anchor, as a Realtor, he turned a deal into a nightmare for all, not sure he knows what the truth is. At 4 o'clock on the day of funding, he had not even processed the loan, even though all parties involved (buyer,agent,escrow,title) were told all was good, and that we had approval, with a closing date...none of which was true. The stress, and misrepresentation is unexcusable. There is no margin in the lending/Real Estate Industry for lies. read more

I called these guys (actually I called Academy Funding, but they apparently are affiliated) and Eli Moss quickly returned my call. He took all necessary information over the phone and emailed me a re-fi estimate within a few hours. I compared their closing costs and rate with two other places and Anchor beat them in both areas. After giving it some thought for about a week I decided to go ahead, called Eli back and started the process. From here on it was an extremely smooth, I was surprised. About 2 weeks into the process I was thinking to my self if I should give Eli a call to see if he could do anything to the rate, I was watching the news and the rates were coming down a little. I knew my rate was locked, but I figured it was worth a try. This may sound weird, but I didn't get to give him a call that morning when I checked the market, and a few hours later he _called me_ out of the blue! He said he had great news, he was able to cut down the rate and also lower the closing costs! Very very impressed with his honesty, he could've just kept the profit. Working with the appraiser, loan officer and escrow was a breeze, especially the loan officer (Lisa) was extremely helpful! I had trouble getting a particular bank statement from my remote bank and they worked with me to resolve the matter very efficiently. In the end I saved a nice chunk of change and closed in about 3 weeks from the day I told them to go ahead. I've done re-fi before, and both used and new-home financing and this was by far the best experience. read more
