Service was excellent, friendly. Fried chicken was freshly prepared and pretty good. Shrimp was supposed to be fried but not crispy at all. Almost steamed with moisture pooled under it. Only 12 shrimp instead of 15 stated on the menu. read more

Good local eats. Dumplings a tad light on chicken, but they just called them dumplings so that is okay. Dumplings were a nice texture, prefer fluffy but these were scrumptious. Green beans very tasty, not mush, had a nice firmness. The mashed potatoes were not real,tad cold for my taste buds. next visit will be a baked potato. Salads are big. Stopped in for a Saturday morning breakfast while we were camping at the lake. As soon as we walked in we were told we could have a seat wherever we liked, then the waitress proceeded to have a 5 minute personal conversation with another table before taking our drink order (only 3 tables). We decided on the breakfast buffet, and the food was delicious, tasted homemade. However $36.00 for 2 people was ridiculous for an 8 item buffet. read more

This is the second time we have stopped here on our way home from the lake. Both times had the same waitress, Pat. Older woman who is extremely crabby. I was scared to eat by the time my meal was finished. I had gone to the salad bar because it was prior to 5 when their seafood buffet started and I just wanted salad anyway. Fresh shrimp was on the salad bar at 4pm when we got there so I put some on my salad. I sat down and immediately "Pat" said, "Shrimp isn't part of the salad bar!" I asked her if she wanted me to put it back??? I then asked why there is no sign stating that? "Well they just told me." Ok, cool. Done eating anyway lost my appetite. My husband ordered the chicken breast sandwich and it was dry and too large to eat as a sandwich. I get that this is a small town restaurant, but how about we act a little nicer when people come in from out of town? We won't be back. read more

We went there as large group after a funeral. They gave us a big table in the back. Space was tight, but we had privacy. The staff was awesome and checked on us often. The food was better than we expected and came quickly. We were totally happy with the whole experience. There was a little incident with a guy trying to get in a couple of our cars in the parking lot, but that was not Anchor Grille's fault. The police were called and the guy was taken away promptly. read more

Im up here at rend lake camping decided to go get a bite to eat due to crappy weather seen this place near me. Seems like this restaurant is only a year old, looks nice inside food is good I got the blackened chicken sandwich best one I've had in a long time. Employees are nice and friendly. Prices not to bad, good thing is though it's not a chain restaurant. Restrooms (mens) looks like it belongs in a dive bar but it does the job. So next time I'm up here camping I'll definitely be back and get that blackened chicken sandwich again. read more

The food was great and fresh. We were camping nearby and ate there 3 night s in a row. Good appetizer selection and they were each very good. The fried fish - catfish and white fish- was delicious. The Anchor Grille has a really great menu! You can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner there (any day but Monday). My wife loves the French toast and crispy bacon; I love the burger with shrimp & cheese. The wait staff is always friendly and quick. Food is tasty and satisfying. read more

This seafood restaurant is a hidden gem. My husband and I were boating in the Rend Lake area and stumbled across this restaurant for dinner. Great selection of seafood, seasoned and grilled to perfection. We loved the fish, crab, grilled shrimp, hush puppies... all delicious and reasonably priced. Our waiter, Jamie, was very attentive and genuinely nice. The owner came out of the kitchen to check on us. A charming experience. Would highly recommend. read more
