Been watching the Instagram since Jessica opened the doors. Finally had a chance to go in & check it out. WOW!! Well stocked & has beautiful dark wood built in shelves. The selection is really great. Lots of specialty spice blends, jarred sauces, condiments, pickled veg, olives, I mean the list goes on. Wonderful fresh bread and I loved literally everything I bought. Please find the time to stop in and support. I no longer need to track to Napa to find those specialty items. Can't wait for cheese and more charcuterie options to come. read more

What a delightful surprise! I was looking for groceries while in town on sabbatical. I always like to treat myself to local and specialty items when I'm in a new area. After finding Anchor Pantry on Yelp, I drove over and was greeted warmly by Jessica, the proprietress, lovely vintage R&B music on the "hifi" and a bounty of beautiful spices, sauces, sweet and savory treats, fresh bread... paradise! You can tell from her selection that Jessica has a culinary background and eye for quality. She helped me pick out a combo of imported and local goodness (Pesto for dinner, Gelato for dessert !) and gave me suggestions for other local must sees. Can't wait to come back. read more

The caliber of this store and the items sold in it rival and even surpass shops found in places like Sonoma and Napa. Staff and employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Found treats for my mom and one of my sisters (chocolates and gelato) and found some super cute bird notebooks for my youngest sister. LOVE! First, the vintage vibe. I'm a sucker for that look. Secondly, amazing merchandise selection. Thirdly, the owner Jessica. Amazing customer service. The shop is super quaint. I tried to take as much photos but there was a good flow of traffic inside. She guided me to the merchandise I was interested and I love the personal touch. I even supported her business buy buying her logo print poster. It's as cute as her business card (see photo). My neighbor told me about this place and now I'll be a regular indeed. If you're local resident and want to get purchase holiday gifts create a basket or stocking stuffers, this is the place. Amazing selection of jams/spreads, virgin olive oils, vinegar, coffee, chocolates, fresh Acme bread, cookies and many more. She even has cold drinks and ice cream in stock. I love love love Anchor Pantry! You can find the most interesting things you won't see anywhere else. I particularly love the small batch miso and the small batch soy sauce. The coconut almond ice cream is to die for. The Acme bread is fresh and wonderful. She has burrata cheese and interesting salamis to go with that bread. What a wonderful addition to downtown Vallejo! Checked it out today -- great variety of unique foods (jams, marinated foods, etc., and some very unique cocktail mixers/enhancers for the creative mixologist. They even have a margarita mix made with Stevia instead of sugar -- that's worth the trip right there! The owner is great -- very helpful and interested in the customers' thoughts and ideas. I love this cute little shop and am so glad its here. So many great things from olive oil to hot sauce to Aleppo and more. The owner is super knowledgeable about pairing spices, oils, vinegars, etc. I love that I can always ask her how I can use things in different ways. Like the amazing Rose white wine vinegar that makes the best salad dressing and also tastes great on watermelon. I would have never known that! I will definitely be shopping here frequently, especially for holiday gifts, etc as she has some beautiful olive oils wrapped in tissue and spices boxed up and ready to go. read more

This is a great store for hard to find items. Their new location is bigger than than the old one, but still has that mom and pop store feel. Jessica is friendly and helpful. It is one of the few places where I can find my favorite sourdough bagettes. She can find items if she does not stock them. This is a good alternative to amazon, especially if you like to shop locally. Incidentally, check out Alibi Bookshop next door...another cool mom/pop store. I've been here twice in one week, so that should tell you something. I bought delicious coffees, a salami that was so beautiful it was almost dirty (in the best possible way!), a magical chocolate bar that is flavored with a hint of banana (I actually bought this for my husband and ended up eating the whole thing myself without saving him even one morsel), cantaloupe jam (yes, it's a thing, and it's a delicious thing that went perfectly with bread and cheese!), and some yummy and unique syrups to flavor cocktails or soda. Both times I shopped, I felt perfectly safe. Everyone was wearing a mask and customers were careful to distance themselves. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. Lovely addition to Downtown Vallejo, I try and come by once a week for a ginger beer & a chocolate bar after buying a book at Alibi across the street. The owner is really sweet and the selection is only growing, they've added gelato which I'm excited to try as the summer get warmer. I've recommended it to my friends who like to cook and my parents are very excited to have a small speciality shop in town. Great spot! From Acme Bread to oils and sweets, they have one of the best selections around. Get there early for the best selection of breads (love the Challah). Friendly atmosphere, decent pricing, and in the middle of Down Town Vallejo. Go to the Downtown Market on Saturdays, they are less than a block away and order extra Acme Bread for the Saturday crowd. read more
