Of all the places in Anchorage you can purchase furs, this place has to be the worst. It's very ghetto relative to other furriers in the area. The most expensive and high end furrier, David Green, is right across the street. Mr. Green must be mortified to have to share real estate with this place. The Anchorage Fur Factory is really nothing more than a novelty store. The fur bikinis and jock straps are hysterical, but they only had them in small and extra small, so whatEVER.... They did have bags of fur scraps for like 9 bucks though, so that's kinda cool if you're a crafter. My biggest problem with this place is that they had such a limited size selection and they didn't have any boots and hardly any hats. It was just a bit of this, a bit of that, and all of it was meh. If you're reeeeeeaaally on a budget and you just have to have something fur, you MIGHT be able to find something here to take home like a pair of slippers or something. But most of the stuff is off sizes, or of inferior quality. I just really wouldn't bother with this place because there's a few other places on 4th ave that are also affordable, with more choices and of a much higher quality. read more

This is a fun store. I was lured in by the fur jockstraps in the window. The very friendly Lidia showed me their range of rabbit fur jockstraps. I selected a leopard print one. Lidia told me they can add a tail for an additional cost. I thought a tail on a jockstrap is a little ridiculous. A fur jockstrap is also ridiculous, so I asked to see the tails. She returned with a bunch of massive raccoon like tails. Think a massive tail hanging off my ass might make me look a bit cheap so I turned her down. She then told me about the bobcat tails. She produced selection of genuine bobcat tails. Bobcats have small tails. The size was right and the color matched the leopard print well. The tail was sewn on in just a few minutes. The jock was $24.99 + $9.50 for the tail. For only $34.49 I have a really fun souvenir of my trip to Anchorage. My husband and I stopped at Anchorage Fur Factory looking for something to take home to commemorate our first trip to Alaska. The owners were so kind and helpful and we ended up with matching amazing calfskin/rabbit fur slippers and a beautiful pair of shearling lined mittens. We couldn't wait to get back to the hotel to put our slippers on! They are so unique and I know the quality means they will last for years. I can't say enough about how friendly and kind the owners were. In addition to our items being beautifully handmade, they were reasonably priced. We plan on ordering some gifts for family members from Anchorage Fur Factory when we return home. read more

Family owned and operated! Such great service! When I was in the market to replace the ruff of a winter jacket with faux fur, initially I didn't go to the Fur Factory. Yeah.... I went to the guys across the street because they spend a lot of money on radio and tv ads. However when I shopped their competitors the service was "eh" and they didn't seem to want to help me out, they tried to sell me a WHOLE WOLF SKIN for $1200! I was disappointed but I still have 20 mins left on my meter so I walked across the street and gave the AFF a look. These guys are experienced and passionate about furs! So glad I came in. I told them what I wanted to do and it was no problem for them! Didn't try to sell me more than I needed and told me that they do hundreds of ruffs every year! Even gave me a few options plus explained the best way to care for my Timberwolf ruff. If you're looking for the best place to get quality furs and quality craftsmanship go to AFF. read more

This was my third trip to David Greens in Alaska. I live in northern CA. This time I bought a mink knit jacket. They had a huge selection and a big chilled storage vault. The service was great, they were patient and I walked away with an elegant light weight knit mink. Two years ago I got a heavier coyote jacket, which is very high quality and toasty in the ski season. David Greens does their own manufacturing, the quality is great. I also left a fur with them to clean, glaze and do small repairs. They did a great job. They have good prices. I am very happy, this is better than CA furriers by far. read more

After buying a pair of slippers from here 13 years ago, it was time for a new pair. It was totally worth coming up from Southern California for a visit. Great selection Of quality products... Looking for beaver hats so I stopped in this place. Seems like they are off the beaten path when compared to other fur stores in and around downtown Anchorage. They had few options for men's hats but could make a hat for me. A little pricey considering I had done my homework prior to arriving. Worthwhile to stop by and do some comparative shopping prior to your next purchase. read more

I had a old wolf ruff that they sewed onto a new parka hood. They did a beautiful job for a reasonable price. The staff was super helpful. I also bought a really cute stretchy fur headband that was on sale. Really happy with their service and prices. read more
