The spot was nice and had plenty of room, the only downside was that the sewer hook up was elevated and near the middle of the site so I had to pull up when leaving to get to it. Since it was elevated I had to use orange blocks and the sewer track to get things working. The rest of the site was nice and the restrooms and showers were clean and worked great. Unfortunately we had to drive down to Santa Fe so we missed the burro fest in downtown the day we checked out, it looked like a load of fun.

WiFi paid for the site, and it supported our Zoom meetings, could stream without any problems, and was the most reliable. The sites are uneven, but they came out and added some more gravel to help with mud and some holes. I was VERY thankful for the support! It is so convenient that you are so close to the park. In the evening, we went in and watched the sunset since we worked remotely during the weekdays. It was a little worn out in the laundry room, but it did the job as expected. There is no doubt that I would stay here again in the future.

The biggest issue was the overall lack of maintenance throughout the park. The grounds appeared neglected, with overgrown grass and weeds in many areas. The resort advertises dedicated dog areas, but both of our dogs came away covered in stickers and burrs that had to be painstakingly cut out of their fur. We also spoke with other campers whose dogs experienced the same problem. If a park promotes itself as dog-friendly and provides designated dog areas, those spaces should be maintained and kept reasonably free of hazards. What made this more frustrating was that there always seemed to be someone driving around the park with a weed trimmer, yet during our stay we never actually witnessed any meaningful grounds maintenance being performed. The condition of the property suggested that upkeep had been deferred for quite some time. Site spacing was another disappointment. The sites felt extremely cramped. The rig behind us was positioned so close that their patio area essentially backed up to our utilities. At one point, a neighboring camper accidentally stepped on our sewer hose because of how little separation existed between sites. We also paid for what was advertised as a "premium" site. In reality, it was located directly on a dusty road with a clear view of the campground dump station. That is not what most RVers would reasonably expect when paying extra for a premium site. After reading the reviews again following our stay, I find myself wondering how representative some of the glowing reviews really are. The maintenance issues, cramped sites, and questionable premium-site location were not isolated observations and seem consistent with concerns raised by multiple other reviewers. While the location near Mesa Verde is convenient, the resort itself did not deliver the quality or level of upkeep that its marketing and many of its highest-rated reviews would suggest. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not stay here again

What makes outback RV so great is that it's small, quiet, and off the beaten path. Bill, the owner is a Great host and a really genuine person. There are some mountain biking trails and hiking trails less than a quarter mile away, and Cortez is a short drive down the road. They are you'll find hardware stores grocery stores pet stores and pretty much anything you'll need. Also Mesa Verde national Park is a short drive as well. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, basic RV Park with great views of the stars and great people come check out outback RV.

No dump station or showers which is fine by me as the space felt cleaner and less cluttered. There was a large community fire ring and table with shade. Communication is instant. His wife greeted us upon arrival with the sweetest smile and brought us maps for the trails at Phil's world and told us how to get there. She shared all the details for the area. Also staff in the bar stated that she was on so many drugs she should not be working and could not remember our order. The whole place just seemed off we left 2 days earlier as the vibe was not good.

Mancos, known as the town where "the west still lives," is only a few miles away with a historic downtown, brewery and state park. The 3 mike hike around the reservoir was a nice after dinner hike! Everything was fine until I was told I had to move my tent which had already been set up 2 days, 20…read morefeet to the right because I set it up too close to a cabin. Why didn't this happen earlier? I spoke to the cabin renter and he said he had no problem with the tent there. The RV patrol woman said he did,(BTW he was my cousin...) and he said no such thing... She was adamant about me moving it and wanted a confrontation which I wasn't gonna give her. I pointed out on the map they had given me that I put my tent where it was pictured and she said the map was wrong! I ended up moving my tent and she left angry and never showed her face for the remainder of my stay. She was so rude in front of my family and guests and other RV residents. No one could believe she made such a big deal over the tent location. Needless to say I will never stay here again, if they are gonna make up rules at their convenience!
