My daughter has had a wonderful experience learning to sew with Meliss! She has asked for more and more classes and can't get enough!

I used Nadia because she was recommended by Garnet and Grace. I wish I would've shopped around…read moreinstead. Nadia is professional but not necessarily friendly. She is also pricier than other seamstresses I've shopped around with. She has a limited schedule. When I did my initial fitting she kind of waited for me to tell her what I wanted fix. I knew dress didn't fit perfectly but I couldn't pin point how to fix it. The seamstress I worked with for my reception dress was a lot more helpful in guiding me on what should be done. The one thing I did ask for (tightened straps), she didn't recommend because she thought it would cut into me when I moved--I was constantly pulling them up on my wedding day. One thing really bothered me. When I booked, she stated there would be 2-3 fittings. However; when I asked when I asked when my 2nd fitting would be she said she was fully booked. Like I said earlier, she has a limited scheduled. I was really nervous, but I was able to book at G&G instead of at her house so I was able to get my second fitting. It food well enough that I didn't ask for any adjustments because I was already frustrated with the situation. The hemming and bustle she did were okay. The extra breast cups she put in were loose and could have been done better. I think Nadia was a skilled seamstress but I would choose someone else if I could do it all again. I would have preferred to use the seamstress I had for my reception dress. The communication, scheduling, and pricing was much better.

Obviously with something as important as your wedding dress you want to find the best! Nadia was…read moreamazing-responsive, very kind, very professional, and great at what she does. She got everything perfect with just one fitting and just in time to pick up before my event. She helped my bridesmaid learn how to lace my corset top and also how to bustle the dress. She does require a $25 consultation hold, which I think is a reasonable trade for her time. Don't forget that most seamstresses need at least 2 months without rushing so remember to plan accordingly!

My friend and I needed our prom dresses altered this season, and we were lucky enough to find Tina!…read moreShe was very gracious and helpful throughout the whole process. We hemmed and took in both of our dresses, each with beading work and multiple layers. She talked us through the various possibilities for altering our garments, and we both found organizing fittings very easy. Tina was always accommodating to our unique and tight schedules. We were very happy with the results of the alterations, and we plan to return with future dresses and clothing! Recommend to anyone looking for tailoring.

I've been searching for a reliable tailor in the San Francisco area, and Tina's Alterations was…read moreexactly what I was looking for. I had four dresses that needed alterations for several upcoming weddings and initially sent Tina photos of all of them. Rather than accepting every project, she carefully evaluated each dress and agreed to work on only two. She explained that while the other two dresses could technically be altered, the fabric and fit would make it difficult to achieve a result that met her quality standards. I greatly appreciated her honesty and professionalism. Many businesses would have accepted all four dresses, but Tina was focused on delivering work she could confidently stand behind. Her transparency and commitment to quality immediately gave me confidence in her expertise. During my first visit to Tina, I brought both my dresses to try on to assess the alterations that I needed done (mostly hemming). She provided a quote at that time, and stated that payment could be made at pick-up. I found her pricing to be very reasonable given the complexity of the dresses (material and multiple layers). The two dresses she altered turned out beautifully. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the fit was exactly what I wanted. The turnaround time was about two weeks from drop-off to pickup, which I found very reasonable (especially since I had told Tina there was no rush). She clearly takes pride in her work and pays close attention to the details that make a difference. One thing to note is that English is her second language and Mandarin is her first, so there can be a bit of a language barrier. If you speak Mandarin, communication will likely be even smoother. That said, I found Tina to be thoughtful, professional, and genuinely committed to achieving the best possible result for her clients. I would definitely return for future alterations and would highly recommend Tina's Alterations to anyone looking for quality workmanship and honest, trustworthy service.
