    Can't get into campsite

There is a strict 3:00pm check in policy. Don't show up early because they will turn you away. Is there anywhere to wait? I was told the grocery store parking lot down the street. Sat for 90 minutes and returned to the campground, then it goes downhill from there... Couldn't get my 36' camper into site #6. The bumper scrapped on the ground half way into the site so I wasn't able to use that particular site. Several other sites were " more level" and could accommodate my camper. When I asked if there was another site available I was told only a primitive site with no water or electric. With it being 90 degrees and muggy we opted for another campground. GLAD WE WAITED TILL 3:00 TO FIND OUT. Thanks for wasting our afternoon Anderson. If zero stars was an option you wouldn't have even got the 1 I gave you.

It's not the most naturally beautiful campground, but we had the perfect campsite and extremely friendly staff. Campsite 37 (tent only) was nicely tucked away from the road and a bit more wooded. Also a nice distance from the bathroom - not too close, not too far. We stayed here as a cheaper alternative to a hotel while touring Nashville. This worked surprisingly well - less than 30 minutes from downtown! Overall it was super easy for our purposes. The beach area has a really nice view, though the swimming area is roped off. Very happy with our choice!

Site #6. Sites 1-10 are on the lake.

The owners were old hippies and the park was full of drug dealers and pot smokers. My husband is pipeline foreman and we have a new nice rv and nice vehicles. We were evicted with zero notice because "his Hummer truck was wider than the parking driveway " by 3-4 inches. It was a very rainy spring and the entire park was a mud hole. I have my own washer and dryer and they said they had me on video washing dog beds and not cleaning . I never even went in there laundry room. These old hippies were very hateful.

We rolled in about 1:30 and sat outside the office. It was very apparent we were sitting there, waiting to check in, as we are a 42 foot long plus the truck. The girl in the office never opened the door and just let us sit when I noticed that the blinds were open. The site we were assigned was next to someone that was living there. They had two hoses connected to the water faucet one to their fresh water inlet and one to their sewer hose. The sewer hose connection was the one that was to be our fresh wate connection. I went into the office and explained the situation and the girl in the office move us to the next site. From what it looked like those two spaces were the only traveling RV sites. We definitely recommend looking for somewhere else to stay.

There are also laundry and showers available. We parked near the boat launch and hiked the park. The huge trees dominate the park and there are tons of wildlife to watch. I had just returned from a grocery run. I assured him that actually I was since we were packing out and moving to a different campground a day early. He insisted that I was driving above the 10 mph speed limit even though my Life360 app clocked me anywhere from 3 to 10 mph once I entered the campground. He continued to yell so I finally closed my truck door because it was too much. My husband came over and he tried to "tattle" to him and he told him I didn't stop at the stop sign on the way in. That was not entirely true. I actually saw it late and stopped just beyond it because I missed seeing it due to its placement. He peeled out on his golf cart after not being able to tell me how fast I was going. I asked him a few times and my husband asked how fast I was going and he kept screaming, "that's beside the point!" So - I had told him that unless he had a radar detector he really didn't know my speed. He must have called the park ranger, who was very kind and I explained that I was not speeding, and we had a nice conversation. I told him how incredibly rude and hateful the "person in charge," is. We continued to pack up and the sheriff drove by for the first time in our stay which I doubt was a coincidence. He didn't speak to us or stop, but the boomer in charge was giving him an earful as we were leaving. Also, the spot we were in was nearly impossible to back into because it was so narrow and there were huge drop offs on the road where you couldn't properly maneuver to back in. I am told that you can't leave an honest review on Recreation.gov because they are monitored to buy the people in charge. I will attempt to leave one once I am able, but there is a reason why this campground is rated the lowest in the area. I guarantee you it's because of the "people in charge."
