Their compassionate, rapid, knowledgeable service is absolutely the best that we have encountered. They spent lots of time helping to explain details of the tree services they provided, with detailed billing and a willingness to work with us on timing. Plus in all this time, they remember who they dealt with from generation to generation. Most recently, a large limb fell on the property, and they were able to swing by, do a quick assessment, help with clean up, and will be back in the fall to trim the tree as it goes into a dormant period. I had a tree in my front yard that I need to have removed. I called Scott's company and he came out promptly and gave me a reasonable estimate. I called him the next day to schedule the work, and they came out the beginning of the following week to take down the tree. Everything went very quickly and smoothly. Scott and his crew were very nice, polite, and respectful of my property. They completed the work quickly but took the extra time to take out the roots that were growing out from the trunk through my lawn. They cleaned up all the mess that was created and took the extra care to tamp down some of the sod that was torn up. Thank you to Scott and his crew. I had a very large maple tree in my back yard. It was breaking up the concrete mower strip and the roots were lifting the yard around it. I wasn't in a hurry to have it removed so I requested quotes from seven different services. Scott Anderson was the second to arrive and quote the job. He was friendly and quite knowledgeable. Price quotes ranged from three times Scott's quote to the same as his. I decided to go with Scott's service because he had the right price, was friendly, would complete it in one day, and answered all my questions. The Anderson crew was amazingly fast. They were friendly and nice, and were done in Less than four hours. And they cleaned up surprisingly well. They were careful to not break sprinkler heads and to not break any of our yard plants. I called asking for an estimate to remove a huge, beautiful fruitless mulberry that was destroying our driveway and ruining our sewer line. The mulberry trunk was thick and the roots exposed about 2 feet beyond the trunk. All of that needed to be removed and ground down. We also wanted removed a very old and poorly placed crepe myrtle that was starved for sunshine, so it looked like a big, sad Charlie Brown tree that was all branches and very little foliage. We also had a small to medium sized redwood that was crowded out by the neighbor's fence and trees. I also wanted an estimate on pruning our other fruitless mulberry that had not been pruned in 5 years. The admin who answered the phone said I would receive a call back to schedule the estimate within a couple of days...business was very busy. I received a call from the owner, Scott, the same day. He offered to come out in 40 minutes to give me a written estimate. Fast!!! Scott was definitely knowledgeable and experienced. He had recommendations that were helpful for us in making our decisions. Scott was very nice with a quirky sense of humor. He was booking two weeks out and the pricing was as follows: -Remove both the crepe myrtle and redwood, chip both and stump grind: $300 for both Remove the fruitless mulberry and stump grind: $1000 (this was a big job) Prune fruitless mulberry: $300 All of the prices included taking away all the wood and debris but he does offer the option to cut 16"-20" firewood if desired. We opted for all the tree removal and waiting on pruning since it was summer. Removal and grinding are a multi-step process that requires different equipment. Scott asked if it was okay to come out and take care of the different parts of the job leading up the final day in two weeks. I was fine with that. His team came and chopped down and ground the two smaller trees over two visits. Each job was done in 45 minutes and when they were finished, it was like they were never here. The job area was absolutely spotless. No wood, no chips, no leaves, nothing but soil. Very impressive. The big mulberry took a bit longer and was also done in two different sessions, one to cut down and chip and the other to grind. There was a stranger's car near the site and they erected plywood boards to prevent any damage to that car. When they were done with everything, they filled the hole with soil. There is a soil mound that will settle over time. We will plant grass so the area blends in with the rest of the lawn. Scott did not expect or ask for payment until the final step of the job. He did not take venmo but seemed curious about it, so maybe he will in the future. Scott and his team were efficient, friendly, hard working and professional. I am extremely happy and highly recommend their services. I will be using them again when my other mulberry needs pruning. read more

Scott and his crew from Anderson Tree Co. did a great job of removing six trees and numerous overgrown plants and shrubs from my home and a next door neighbor. The parkway trees had roots that were beginning to damage the sidewalk and curbing, so out they came. The crew arrived exactly when scheduled and immediately got to work removing parkway trees. Within two hours all trees and shrubs were off the property and the second phase of removing the tree stumps began. Anderson has state of the art equipment for both bringing down the trees and grinding down the stumps, so this second step went much quicker than expected. The stump removal was thorough enough to allow a new tree to be planted in the hole where the old tree had the stump removed. Unbelievably fast. The Anderson stump grinder is not what you will find at a Home Depot rental booth. It has robotic control and completely removes all traces of the tree stump, allowing for easily replanting the area with grass or a replacement tree. A very heavy duty machine that within seconds obliterates all traces of the stump. The area was cleaned up after the job was complete. The street and sidewalks were blown clean and the area around the trees raked up and leveled. All that remains is to plant new trees. Scott's quote was extremely competitive and the final product was better than I had expected. He will quote with stump removal or without, providing whatever level of service you need. Could have been misogyny, or just straight up racism. The contractor that came out to give us an estimate for tree removal was incredibly unnecessarily rude. He did not even bother to introduce himself, and decided to make condescending comments during the entire interaction. I'm surprised he has received any business, because that is absolutely not how you should be interacting with clients wanting to hire you for a job. We had 2 large sticky gum trees (those evil spiky balls) in our front yard that ripped up our driveway and a backyard filled with about 18 overgrown cypress. Anderson gave a very competitive quote and had a date set for removal within 2 weeks. The crew was very prompt both days and even cleaned out the pool. This business is on Angie's List, but not wanting to pay membership fees I decided to add it to Yelp. I was referred by a friend(Good friend!) We had a MASSIVE Mulberry and another smaller messed up one. We had called and called around for estimates and not liking what we heard. They pruned the big boy and took out the other one. They were careful, courteous and clean in their work. They truly did go out on a limb!! (Their slogan, not mine.) I know we got a great deal and a job well done! We got a Wilson II (the red one with the devil horns) we call "Evil Wilson", but it just wasn't the same. So I ask the one guy on the ground to help rescue Wilson I. He becomes very diligent waiting for guy I'll call "guy in tree" to cut the right branch. He's trying to get G.I.T's attention to direct him to said branch, but the G.I.T is on his own program and deafened by a chainsaw! Anyway, I go back inside for a while and go back out to check progress, and viola! Wilson I is sitting on the table (on his feets of course) So that was cool. I had Anderson Tree Co remove five trees this week at my home in Greenhaven. Two very large Italian cypress, two very large camphor trees, and one smaller privet. Trees were in back yard and front yard. Scott Anderson and his very professional crew performed exemplary over two days removing all debris and leaving the yard immaculate both days. I received a yellow card in the mail advertising this company .. free estimates and $25 off on the first tree service. I called to have a large tree in the front of our house trimmed. I had a busy week and rather than try to work out a time to meet, he said he would come by the house and check out the tree since it was right out in front, and then call me with an estimate. That was about three weeks ago and I have not heard from him. A bit confused as to why this company is sending out advertisers/coupons out if they can't be bothered to actually follow through on a bid. read more

Mr Anderson came to my elderly neighbor's house. Wouldn't tell her his first name. He was aware there was other work being done to her house soon which is why she needed a couple branches removed before Monday. First, he didn't even have a ladder and wanted her to provide one. He didn't seem to have any sense of height perspective, which as someone who does this for a living, you'd think he could guess how high 50 ft is. Second he wouldn't even give her an honest quote. He kept saying looks like you're in a bind, what do you think you should pay me?! She asked several times for his price and this was his response before he named something outrageous. He was patronizing and rude. At one point she tripped while showing him her ladder and he asked her if she needed to go get her meds and have a snort! She was in tears relating this to me. I am so angry that this apparent owner of his namesake company could be so rude and demeaning towards an elderly woman who clearly just needed a simple job done st a fair price. She was able to find a great company to do the quick job that day for $300 less. He didn't even leave in a normal polite manner, but yelled at her out the window of his truck as he drove off to google someone to trim her tree. My neighbor hired these guys to trim her trees and he knocked at my door and asked if he could "square off the tree". I let him do it -- I wish I had not-- it looks TERRIBLE- only stumps sticking out!!! I am sure my neighbor's side looks nice but mine is HORRIBLE- I will never let these guys on my property again. Unprofessional, inexperienced work! My mother had a simple lemon tree She needed lightly pruned, they butchered it and left it unbalanced and ugly. (I have before and after photos). We called Anderson to let them know of the poor quality their workers did. He at that time said it was my mother's fault for letting them leave. When he finally agreed to have someone come out and balance and fix the hack job, a very nice gentlemen came out. He apologized emensley for the previous guy and quickly, yet accurately fixed the tree. He also informed me that it was his first day with the company and that based upon his experience with the previous job that day, it would also be his last. (I also have pictures of how he was able to salvage the tree). I urge anyone to not use this company! read more

I had them out to a rental house we own that had (3) Amber trees that were causing problems with my foundation and my neighbors. They had the best price of the 93) bids I got, and they did a clean professional job. The only thing I would have done different would have been to have them grind out the stumps, but we poisoned them instead which is working for the most part. I would like to give this business 0 stars! As I was driving afternoon carpool with a car full of kids, an employee, maybe even the owner, of this company was driving a big truck, with the company logo on the side, and pulling a trailer. It nearly slammed into the side of my vehicle, pulling away from the curb where it had been parked, without looking. Obviously, I sounded my horn which got me the offensive "I see you fatty!" yelled out the open window by said employee, or owner. What a painful reminder of how I've been unable to gain the upper hand on my physical fitness since the passing of my daughter. And, yelled out for my entire neighborhood to hear, not to mention all the children in my car. I will NEVER do business with this company and will surely spread the word. Considering I live in this neighborhood, full of fall trees (I have several myself, on my property), that was really poor form, very unprofessional and rude. read more

If you want bad service, this is your company. We scheduled an estimate and a few days later Scott called and said he is not coming out and he doesn't have time to trim our trees. He has been to our home on three occasions. When we called him he was quite rude and was argumentative that he's never been to our home. I have the receipts to prove he's been here. I called Anderson after receiving a card in the mail. I got him to come out and give an estimate to trim a large tree in yard in July , and made an appointment to get it done. Unfortunately I needed after 10 AM which was apparently not doable by him (7:30 AM or nothing) so I postponed it. When calling back in October I never received a return call. After calling other tree trimming type companies I am finding out this is not unusual, as they get a lot of big jobs this time of year. I understand that completly, but no phone call back after a week is bad business, even if to say the job can't be done! I guess the economy hasn't hit them eh? His company removed two trees located in my side yard and within close proximity to my house. The tree roots had already started to migrate under my foundation. As the homeowner, this was a very stressful situation. Scott took the time to explain the removal process and answer my numerous questions that followed. I received a coupon card in the mail and thought I would give them a try. I called a couple of other places too and they either did not call me back or took a week to come out and look at my yard to give a bid. I spoke with the owner and we set up a date to do the estimate. He was on time and straight forward with the estimate. I did get three other bids and he was right inline with the others. The day of the job he showed up when he said he would with a couple of trucks and 3-4 employees to perform the work. They did a great job on the trees. I was a little worried when I saw them cutting them because alot of the branches were falling in my neighbors yard. I went and left a note on my neighbors door telling them that I would come over when they got home to clean up the mess. After they left I took a look over the fence to see how much of a mess there was and to my surprise they had already cleaned up everything in my yard and also the neighbors. I also called to schedule an estimate after receiving a card in the mail. The owner came out and gave me what seemed to be a fair price but because of the size of the job we would have to budget it in before we got the work done. I called back a couple months later to schedule the job, and he asked for my ticket number off the bid he gave me. I told him that he never had given anything in writing, I had only written down his estimates on the stages of the work as he gave them to me. He said "Oh, I must not have thought you were serious". Really? Like calling tree companies and getting estimates is something I do for fun? So because he decided to save himself 13 cents for a piece of paper, he risked loosing a $3000 tree job. He then said that he was leaving for a 2 week vacation in a week and that he would try to come out before he left to 're-bid', costing me my time because he didn't write it down the first time. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he never showed up, never called, and a month later, when he should have been back home and back to work and still hadn't called, I gave up and found a new tree company.
