We went with another couple and none of us were very pleased. Two stars b/c my andiamo salad wasn't horrible (drown in balsamic though) and my husband's carbonara was 'ok but pretty salty' in his words. However our friend's caesar salad literally could have came out of a Fresh Express salad kit as all the lettuce was brown, and when she complained he offered to bring her a new one, she politely refused, and he said 'Ok Ill get a you a new one' (example of the type of service we received). Even though a 'new one' was brought it was still browned lettuce, as was the lettuce on the escargot plate. And her date's veal marsala was subpar, sauce did not taste of marsala wine (which I am familiar with). It tasted more mushroom than anything in my opinion.... We had to ask twice for waters to be refilled, no one even offered to take my husband's drink order, and even though the waiter could clearly hear us complaining about the food as he was literally standing at our table clearing the bread vinegar/oil plates - not once did he even acknowledge it or offer the manager. Infact when the check came and the brown bag express salad was still on it, she politely asked if it could be removed as she clearly said she did not want it (even though he insisted on bringing one regardless) - to which he replied 'Uh well I dont know Ill have to ask my manager' .... really? At this point we were just floored with the lack of service and the poor quality in general we experienced. For the price of the entrees you would expect better service and better quality of food. I went with 2 stars for the following reasons: 1) Although the sauces were delicious, the pasta itself was undercooked. I tried my husband's dish and it was undercooked too. It's a bit bad when an Italian place can't get the pasta right. 2) The service was pretty god awful. One of our party had to ask for cutlery when the mains arrived, and instead of checking to make sure everyone else was ok, the waiter just brought back one set of cutlery when several of the rest of us needed forks as well. We also had to wave him down to request more drinks through the night, even though the place was pretty empty. 3) Dessert was nice but way too rich... I couldn't finish it. On the plus side: 1) My salad starter was delicious 2) The restaurant was quite cute 3) Serving sizes were appropriate... not too large or too small 4) I've had a LOT worse On balance, I don't think I'd bother to go back. read more

Just visited here for the second time - the food is good but overpriced and the service is AWFUL. Our waiter brought us the wrong wine and opened it before we could intervene. He never told us the specials, didn't bring bread or offer cracked pepper, parmesan or pepper flakes. The restaurant wasn't so crowded but he was very slow to get back to us. He also forgot to validate our parking despite us reminding him 3x. The sauce for my tortellini was delicious but tortellini itself was just okay. Overall, was not impressed with this restaurant. I always thought you could not mess up Italian food, but this place has proven me wrong. From the very beginning, the service was slow at best, and it took forever to get our bread and even longer to get our order taken. It seemed like it was most of the staff's first day on the job and they weren't very knowledgeable of their menu. There was a huge lack of ambiance, and the restaurants telephone had a really loud annoying ring which continuously range off the hook. The food came out relatively quickly, however the food was incredibly sub par for the price per plate. Most of the food tasted as though it came out of the freezer, and my boyfriend could have made it way better at home. Everything tasted like it was missing a little something which would have made the dish better. The smoked salmon bruschetta with mascarpone appetizer was ok, though I feel like the salmon should have been a little cooked. The flavors were alright, however they were very VERY faint. I had the signature dish of Pear and Gorgonzola ravioli, which was only "so-so" and left a very odd taste in my mouth at the end of my meal. My boyfriend ended up having the tortellini in proschuitto sauce, which was more like a soup than a sauce. The only part that had flavor in the dish was the proschuitto, which there was not enough of. The tortellini also tasted like it was from a freezer bag that you can get at the grocery store. We ended up skipping dessert because we did not want to waste our money. All in all, I would not recommend this place to anyone. You can get the same quality of food at Olive Garden for about half the price with much better drink options and faster service. read more

The veal was overcooked and small-portioned. It came with some crappy veggies and angel hair pasta. The menu said it came with potatoes, but it didn't. The marsala sauce was buttery. My girlfriend ate two raviolis and was disgusted. The gorgonzola flavor totally overpowered the dish. She also noted that the pear centerpiece came from a can. For a specialty, the ravioli was completely underwhelming. Service: 3/5 We ate dinner when the restaurant was practically empty. Including us, the waiter had three tables to manage. He was polite and offered helpful tips for reheating our leftovers (which we threw away). I drank my water and my glass was empty for about five minutes. I expected a bit more attention when the restaurant was nearly empty. Price: 1/5 I didn't buy any alcohol because it was overpriced. I ended up paying $50 after tip and prime card discount for some pretty mediocre food. Overall it was a bad value. read more

I will never visit this restaurant again. The food was absolutely amazing. The waitstaff was as well. The owner was blatantly racist. It was painfully obvious upon entering the restaurant. He literally made it his business to not once acknowledge that I was even in the restaurant. All while fawning and WOW WOW WOWING, the Caucasian customers. At first I thought it was because he was busy. But I looked around the restaurant, and only half the tables were being used. And when the other tables started to fill up, he made it a point to personally got over and greet those customers. I didn't need him to come over and WOW, WOW, WOW me, but just respectful acknowledgment would have been enough. It was my anniversary, and it was a very special night for us. To feel like less of a man, all while wearing a suit and tie was more than uncalled for. Especially for how much we paid for our meal. Loved the food HATED the experience. All I could think of how the owner treated me is WOW WOW WOW!! ...Thought Bellevue was further ahead than that.... read more

After someone highly recommended it, we tried Andiamo on Sunday night. The restaurant is nice and we were greeted well and treated very nicely. However, I don't know where all these good reviews came from because the food was just not that good. I ordered a caprese salad and the tomatoes (which were part green to begin with) were almost frozen, so very obviously had been stored in a very cold refrigerator. My Dad thought his tomato soup tasted like it came out of a can. When our entrees arrived there was more disappointment - my prawns were overcooked and tough and the other two thought their pasta (their classic Gorgonzola/pear ravioli) was way too sweet and only lukewarm. I was so impressed with absolutely everything last night!!! I felt a bit odd with the layout at first, however, after having watched the chefs prepare our meal just over the counter I felt at ease knowing everything was cooked on demand. The atmosphere was lovely as there was a range of music playing appropriate for the setting along with Italian being spoken amongst the staff. It's on a quiet street right in downtown Bellevue and street parking was easy to find (on a Tuesday evening at least). As far as the food goes, we (only a friend and I) started by sharing the spinach salad alongside the complimentary bread which seemed to fill us up more than I would've expected. The spinach salad was a great choice and played nicely with your tastebuds as it was served warm. As for entrees, we went with the angel hair margherita and chicken fettuccini which did not disappoint. What impressed me was the innovation of the dishes on the menu! Although we had ordered somewhat generic entrees there were plenty of options I had noticed floating amongst other customers which I will not be shy to try next time. This three star review is honestly a three and a half. The deciding factor between rounding up and rounding down was, simply, my tiebreaker. My tiebreaker is and always has been customer service. I have dined here on a few occasions, but my experiences have lacked consistency. Food: the food is both outstanding and subpar. Their mushroom ravioli is to die for. It has rich, delectable flavors that will leave you feeling quite satisfied. However, the other pasta dishes are no better than something I could make, and I'm no chef. I've even frequently experienced undercooked pasta and vegetables. Service: so here's what pushed my could-a-been-a four star review to a three star review. The service is terrible. Every time I've eaten here I've had a different server and their attentiveness to customers is about the only consistent thing about this establishment. Each one I've had has essentially parked me in a corner and vanished, only to return after long intervals to take your order or bring you your food. Good luck getting a refill on water. In conclusion, if you want some good Italian food, feel free to eat her. Just make sure to order the mushroom ravioli and don't have high expectations for service. read more

Earned every one of these stars! Went here for the first time on a cold, rainy Tuesday. We got there early. It filled up nicely by 6:15. I mentioned TUESDAY because on Tuesdays you get 50% off all bottles of wine. Hubby had to order calamari- I never, ever order calamari 'cause it's usually a waste of money! I was wrong. The squid was about the best it can be. (Yes, it was yummy.) Got it as an appetizer with an Italian beer- It was a doppelbock & really great with the fried food and sauce. (the waiter was quite nice, did not judge, even though, I'm sure he thought I was ordering a strange opening to the meal) Next, the hubby ordered the veal marsala- He always orders veal dishes & 90% of the time he is disappointed- Then I get to hear how disappointing the veal was... Again, we were pleasantly surprised. Very good. We ordered the cannelone stuffed with chicken and veal to share. Do not hesitate to order this, it's great. The entree that I most wanted to order was the best of all. The cappellini in a cream sauce with shrimp and crab. It was luscious! Generous amount of crab. Wonderful dish. Since we already had quite a bit of food to take with us, we didn't order dessert. We will be back. Maybe next time we'll have some room for sweets ;) We are very pleased with this place. We've been to Andiamo a couple of times now. We enjoy the food, and it's a nice quiet restaurant for conversation at dinner time. Our party of five all liked what they ordered and ate all of it. My lasagna was excellent. Bar service was poor. The waitress was making the drinks, and was not experienced. She muffed one order, was unable to make another, and served one of us wine in a glass with lipstick on it. My G&Ts were fine but formulaic. So go for the food, the white table cloths, and the quiet atmosphere. read more

I had a nice lunch here one day, as I work nearby. Therefore, I thought I would invite a friend to an after work dinner on a Friday. We arrived just after five, there was one other table of customers. We got our menus and wine list, and waited and waited and waited. The waiter was busy fawning over the other customers and ignored us. Finally caught his attention and asked to move to a booth explaining I am having back problems and the hard chairs were hurting me. He was polite and moved us, and I asked if maybe we could have some wine. WE WERE TOLD IN JUST A MINUTE HE WAS BUSY! He set up a table in an empty restaurant while we retrieved our bread from the other table. Finally got wine and the meal moved on. Waiter was polite, but I really have an issue with waiters taking on an attitude. I won't be back because of it. I guess because he became attentive and charming during the rest of the meal we should be happy. My veal marsala had a wonderful flavor but was luke warm. With it were nice vegetables and dry pasta? Odd. Too expensive to put up with attitude, cold food and a dry pile of pasta. read more

Beware...atrocious service!! Our party of 3 ordered 2 appetizers, 2 bottles of wine, 3 entrees, and 3 deserts. In the 1.5 hours we were there our server told us three times that they needed our table. While eating our desert and paying tab at same time, our server AGAIN "told" us they needed our table. The restaurant looks really cozy-- it's on the smaller side and isn't so trendy like so many places in Bellevue. The inside though is SO drafty. We sat in the back and the waiter had to blast a heater on our table to reduce the frigid draft from a back door area. The food was okay. I like that they had a lot of standards to choose from. I got a spinach salad to start. It was not good. It was huge and the ingredients were not of high quality. Lots of blue cheese that was super flavorless and bacon that was also not distinguishable in flavor from the rest of the salad. My husband also had a mixed green salad-- he said it was okay. For the mains, we had Chicken Marsala and Rigatoni in cream sauce with prawns. Both were pretty tasty. We got the crème brule for desert. It was okay-- had a nice crust on it. The plate was covered in a chocolate drizzle that tasted like hershey's syrup so that was kind of a miss. A couple other things we noticed were chipped dishes, steak knives that looked (and cut) like they were from the dollar store, tin flatware. A lot of the details are overlooked at this restaurant which prevents me from considering this place a keeper. read more

Read this before going here: We came to the restaurant about 5:45 on a Saturday. They asked if we had a reservation. We said we did not and they said they could not fit us in. The place was almost empty... So I went outside and made a reservation on their website on my phone, and, surprise - they did have room for our reservation online. Waiters seemed incompetent. During this time they also turned away another couple that didn't have a reservation. Too bad because during our dinner I observed they had at least two tables for two that stayed open the whole time. In addition to having incompetent waiters that turn away business, the food was cold, mediocre in taste, they forgot items in our order but listed on the bill anyways. They charge $3 per half a glass of soda, and another $3 if you want a refill. I can't handle blatant thievery in regards to something as cheap as soda. Oh and my 6 year olds kids plain spaghetti and cup of milk came to $13. Will not go here again, frankly I'm surprised they are still in business. read more

This place was awesome. I came in at 6:00PM on a Wednesday. The place was empty but the ambiance was charming and since I was by my self I wanted to try it. I had a glass of the Chianti Classico which was pretty good. The service was great. The servers were attentive. He answered questions I had about the menu and portion size. My food came out within 15 minutes. The server suggested the special which was a rosemary chicken ravioli. It was really good. I also had the escargot which was also tasty. I love this restaurant! I've been several times and never been disappointed. Great location with easy parking. The staff have always been very friendly and professional. I love the Chicken Marsala! The Chicken Fettuccine and the Lasagna are both great. I tend to stick with these but I need to explore the rest of the menu, it's just that those are so good! I have been to Andiamo several times over the course of 3 years now. Each time, I can order something new, and expect it to be just as delicious as last time. The atmosphere feels appropriate: dimly lit, yet still feels warm. The waiting staff are all very professional, and promptly fulfill any request. I am not even a huge fan of pasta, but Andiamo has plenty for me. Their appetizers: the sampler platter, calamari, and bruschetta; and the entrees: chicken parmesan, canneloni, and lasagna. I've never been to Italy myself but this is how I imagine home cooking would taste like at a family feast. The tomato sauce was perfectly balanced with garlic and wine and spices.
