Castilla is right in downtown. Parking is easy and can be done in mall . It's cozy place and rightly lit for Tapas . Server was knowledgeable and well dressed. Gave good recommendations. I love flatbreads and confit pears flatbread was amazing . It's close to what black bottle restaurant serve . Wanderlust drink was right flavors ( very refreshing) . Burrata salad was fresh . Empanada stole the show . Highly recommend this place . In general I love Tapas and it hit the right spot

Everything we ordered was pretty good. I never had paella before so when I saw a squid ink paella, that intrigued us. And I will say its good, but i couldn't tell if the squid ink did anything extra. Our service was a little under whelming, the server confused our cocktails and so my friend and I ended drinking the others drink. :/

Under cooked bread. Undercooked flatbread. Meat and cheese board had very little cheese. And they charged $3 for $0.50 of gluten free crackers. It's an allergy that takes very little accommodate. Very disappointed in the choice to take a large profit on this. $6 for 10 cents of coke is ridiculous. And tip should be based on subtotal not total including tax. I feel like I'm being nickel and dimed on a luxury meal. Feels cheap and tacky. Hostess was also very rude when we showed up 5 minutes early.

Stopped by for lunch a few times, and the food is delicious. If you sit at one of the booths, you can enjoy watching the city while you eat. They can get pretty busy on weekends, but weekday lunch is easy time to get a table. They also take reservations. There was one odd moment during one of our visits where someone outside stood right in front of our window, changed clothes, and then watched us eat through the window. It was a very uncomfortable experience. We let the staff know, and security asked the person to leave. Overall, the food is good and usually lunch is nice here.

Castilla has been a restaurant I've heard of for a long time, but honestly never really had plans to come in. We did a belated Christmas gift exchange with friends recently and our friends made reservations here. So glad they did! It's literally right down in the main Bellevue Square hub, so we were able to easily park at the mall and make a short walk to Castilla. Vibes were perfect with low lighting but still a bustling atmosphere. Our server (unfortunately forgot his name) kept solid recommendations coming all night and was so funny and personable! As this is a tapas spot, we tried quite a few dishes and split them amongst the table. Mixta Paella: our server promised us that the smaller size paella was good for 2-4 people and man he was RIGHT. The portion was absolutely insane and I don't think we even finished all of it. Everything tasted so fresh and there was so much flavor to the dish. They warn you ahead of time, but plan for the paella to take 30 minutes for them to prepare. Grilled Octopus Leg: Every time I have octopus (which is two times now LOL) I'm a little worried about the texture, but it was prepared beautifully here and the sauce that it was in was delicious. Salmon & Artichoke Dip: I'm a sucker for any type of artichoke dip and this was no exception. Creamy, rich, and great flavor! Beef Medallions: Tender and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend. Chorizo & Onion Empanada: Another banger. So crispy and the filling was so good! I actually was on the fence about this one but my husband insisted, and it was a good choice. Patatas Aioli: Crispy layered potato with a garlic aioli? I mean, come on. You can't go wrong. Delicious. This was our first visit to Castilla and I'm sure it won't be the last - would definitely return if I'm dining up again in Bellevue!

    Paella Mixta YUM!

So I came to Castilla with my family for my birthday, it's probably one of my fav places to just celebrate with people since its tapas style and we went to town! Lets get to the food I've always had great luck with Octopus here and this time was no exception, it was very nicely cooked and utterly tender. Another favorite is the Patatas Bravas and the Wild Mushrooms & Basil Croquet both 5/5 and should be a staple on any table. I will say I was a little disappointed in the Beef Medallions this used to be an absolute fav, but they have changed the sauce that it comes with and now it was a little over, so perhaps its one to retire. The Lamb Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Lamb Chops and the Steak, Mushrooms, Olives, Parmesan Cocas (flatbread) were INSANE love love love those and will 100% be ordering again. Another item we tried out was the Chicken Fennel Root & Mojo Rojo Empanadas and oh wow it was YUM. We ended up ordering the Cheesecake and Flourless Chocolate Cake, both were great but I will say the mini paella pan they use for the chocolate they use for something else because it absolutely smelled of cardamom and I am not a fan. I will also add that they really do need to work on service, it took far far too long to get anyone's attention and just soured the experience but here's hoping for better

We had such a fun girl's night here! The menu is extensive with a lot of variety and something for everyone. Our waiter was wonderful - consistently checked in and took care of us. Had great recommendations and matched our group's energy. We loved the potatoes bravas, ham and manchego cheese croquetas, and the green beans. The flatbread was a little dry but the flavor combo of the steak with pickled grapes was super unique and yummy. A few tips: Leave plenty of time for parking as the parking garage behind the restaurant added a good 15 minutes to find a spot. You'll be offered mineral or tap water - the mineral costs at $6 a bottle, which wasn't super clear to us.

The tapas are excellent and come out hot! The happy hour menu is extensive and the Spanish flavors can't be beat. A welcome change in Bellevue and I will definitely return. Grab a glass of Sangria and enjoy the tapas and fun, friendly atmosphere where you will be treated well by a very happy staff.

We visited Castilla on a Thursday evening and found it quiet and easy to get a table. Our waiter helpfully suggested us to order the paella right away because it takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It requires a 2-person portion minimum. We chose the Squid Ink Paella and it was fantastic. The portions were very generous, the seasoning was superb, and the rice had the perfect texture--flavorful without being too soft. It also had plenty of seafood. We also ordered one appetizer and two cocktails, and they were pretty standard. Overall, we absolutely loved the paella and would highly recommend it. Our only wish is that the portions were slightly smaller (or with 1 person option) with a correspondingly lower price point. It felt a bit expensive for the value.

Food anazong great atmosphere people are great and food is delicious wish i had more pics but the food was great regardless paella a must have im telling tou get it but make sure you have time takes awhile but well worth it

I've been here a few times and always found everything delicious! The paella usually takes longer to cook and serve, so it's best to order it first. The portions are huge as well. Other tapa dishes are usually good, with smaller portions that work well for sharing among 2-4 people. The restaurant can be quite popular, so it's best to make reservations ahead of time. It can also get a bit loud due to the crowd. The staff is helpful and attentive. Parking is free in the same parking garage.

    Ellen C.

Food was just ok. Not memorable. You'd come here for the atmosphere and shareable bites. Lots of things to try. But overall disappointed in terms of taste and uniqueness. My favorite was the paella but even then it was not amazing. Server was amazing. He was nice, friendly, attentive, and sincere. I would not come here again.

My husband booked a reservation for us two and the kids on Valentines Day around noon. We waited over 25 minutes to be served and that is only because I complained about others getting helped before us. They brought over crackers as an apology for the kids. The waiter took our order and forgot the salad we ordered. The food was great. Our personal favorites were the croqueta de jamón and the chops. The service was not great at all. After the food was delivered, the waiter didn't go check on our table. I had to ask the hostess for the bill. Pretty disappointed in the experience.

Ask the Community - Castilla Restaurant and Tapas Bar

    Are kids allowed?

    Yes

Is there a Happy Hour and if so, what are the days and time?

It is everyday from 3:00 - 5:00P. Friday & Saturday it's also 9:00P to close. Happy Hour is only served in the bar area.

Will there be an option to make a reservation for Valentines Day?

No. They are not taking any reservation at all. It's more like first come first serve.

    How is the paella?

It's amazing! It did not disappoint us and the seafood was very fresh and flavorful. You can choose the Paella with 2 or 3 or 4 people so the portion and the price would be different too. They have happy hours and the mushroom crochet was delicious!

Is HH only in the bar area or entire restaurant? Hoping to bring the kids to try.

    Entire restaurant!

    Is there any vegan options?

Yes! We have a variety of vegan options on our menu and can also make many items vegan as well. Just let your server know, and we will cater to your needs!

Where is this located in Bellevue Square Mall? Thanks for the assist!

It's outside the mall facing Bellevue way street.

    Is there a Happy Hour?

Yes, there is. Everyday 3pm-6pm and 9pm-11pm.

The menu shows off many colorful fruit flavored carbonated beverages all of which sound delicious. Sometimes its really good and addicting. Other times ive been, ive gotten a few drinks that were flat and very bland flavor as if they skipped adding some of the listed flavors. I dont fully understand why. The concept is simple, they use soda and add a scoop of fruit pulp, a pump or so of syrup, and a sprinkle of dried fruit bits. I could be wrong, but I feel like i noticed they use large bottle of the carbonated drink to pour many drinks, but they go flat over time. Which means some people will get flat drinks. On my last visit i ordered several drinks. One was bland and flat.I tried to get them to remake my flat drink, but they warned me it would still be flat. I insisted as my other drinks we had taste better having more carbonated spark and sweet juicy flavors. They remade it using the same bottle of soda and it was just as flat and bland the second time so I just tossed the drink and sipped on my families drinks that tasted amazing. Idk if i would recommend this location as it seems to be so hit or miss. Maybe just make sure they use fresh soda and also that they give you all the mentioned flavors. Hey, maybe on my last visit they just ran out of flavor and fresh soda and didnt want to tell me. When they make it right, its absolutely worth a try.

Nine enticing creations make up their menu, all of them being fruity and vibrant in color. Ordering is very simple on the kiosk as you just select your drink and also choose an Adaptogen, which is their version of a health "boost". A few of the Adaptogens are free of cost (I selected the immunity one), but other more premium options will cost a dollar or two extra. According to the staff member, most of the Adaptogens are flavorless. All drinks are $7 each and only come in one size. I've visited on two different occasions and both times, my seltzer was ready in just a couple minutes. + PINEAPPLE BREEZE: A refreshing combination of pineapple purée, passion fruit purée, freeze-dried passion fruit and a thin slice of dried pineapple. Both fruity flavors were balanced; I could taste the bright pineapple and the juicy tropical passion fruit. The seltzer was crisp and perfect to enjoy in the Seattle sun. The freeze-dried passion fruit dissolved over time, strengthening the intensity of its flavor with each sip. + RUBY REFRESHER: This drink included cherry purée in addition to lychee. The menu stated that it also includes coconut, but the employee who helped us said that they have never added coconut to the drink, so I'd suggest that they update the description. Additionally, she said that they were out of the actual lychee fruit which would have otherwise been placed on top, so she substituted with some freeze-dried strawberries. This said, the drink strayed from what was displayed on the menu, but it was still good. The cherry flavor tasted very natural and the lychee flavoring brought a juicy sweetness. With this being located within the Lincoln Food Hall, these seltzers are somewhat of a splurge, but are the perfect addition to round out any meal.

Decent amount of fries, definitely has cheese flavor but not that much truffle oil aroma. I liked the wings which you get 6 per order. They weren't fried, but rather tender and juicy.
