We picked this place because of their Sunday night beach party. Sadly - while the beach party was well attended by lots of attractive people drinking happily, but I'm not understanding the earsplitting loud techno music that played until about 3 in the morning. At some point enough is enough. I was hoping for some latin music, maybe some chill music as the party got going......the music was like one long loud annoying song. The guacamole we ordered for an appetizer is pretty good though I wasn't fond of the tortilla chips.

On the menu, which has a variety of options, my husband discovered their "filete al trapo" which is when the steak is wrapped in a wine soaked towel and cooked. We were sold to try something so unique sounding, so we booked a reservation on trip advisor. The steak was cooked at our table on a blackstone by Chef Hope. Cooked to medium, it was perfection. Every bite was delicious and had a hint of smoke. The steak is a shared dish that comes with two sides. We both got mashed potatoes which were heavenly. Legit did not have a single bad bite to eat. Our server, Armando, was wonderful! He was quick, helpful, and nice, helping to provide recommendations and get us refills/reorders of our Old Fashioned's promptly. Service was very quick that our empanada starters came out at the same time as Chef Hope to cook the steak. The meal was very filling but I still wanted dessert so we ordered the 'chewy chenta' which is a cookie with ice cream served in a skillet. Finally, because I had mentioned we were celebrating our honeymoon when booking our table, Armando and other staff brought us over a dessert with a sparkler in it and sang us congratulations. The staff was incredibly attentive with service and hospitality - pulling out chairs for my wife and daughters, re-folding napkins each time someone left the table and placing them back in our laps when we returned. We were repeatedly greeted by our last name and given a fond farewell (by name) from staff who weren't even our server. We also received a free "surprise" guava candy serving after our meal which was a sweet and tasty final touch. The food was fantastic - grilled broccoli was our star, and the enchiladas, beef loaded potato, sliders, and quesabirrias were all delicious too. A GREAT spot for families - kids under 12 eat free, and there was a kids playroom with climbing and video games. The kids had such a great time that we stayed for an extra drink and dessert. I happened to come across Mero Toro while I was searching for nice restaurants in Cancun. Funny enough, somehow I ended up connecting on Instagram with their chef at the time Andreas (who is from Italy) and extremally talented. Well, I had the Lamb which was delicious. Everything about it was perfect. The entire meal was amazing. Andreas even came out and spoke to me since the service that evening was slow and we discussed his passion for food and how he loved to cook. I also love to cook and create - and then he came back with dessert and that just made thing even better! The sorbet was wonderful. Perfect way to end the evening. My friends ordered salads and burgers and they also thought the food was great. We also ordered this cake with ice-cream on top and man it was incredible. But, our favorite part was our server, sweet Ernesto. He went above and beyond to serve us delicious and a nice dinner. There was jazz playing and he asked us what our favorite music was and he played frank sinatra for us. He was kind and attentive and even though I spoke a little Spanish, he used both languages to communicate with us which was very sweet. He told us about his kids and his life in America which was so cool to learn and he also helped us find fun activities to do at night with the help of calling someone. We will definitely remember this restaurant the next time we vacation to Mexico and we are so grateful to this wholesome man.
