Great doc and med staff but receptionist is overwhelmed. Have had numerous procedures with great results.

This office got me locked out of iPledge by dragging their feet on labs then made me wait 30 days just to restart. After that? They rescheduled my next appointment an hour before it was supposed to happen and pushed me out another 25 days. That delay could've gotten me locked out again. No urgency. No accountability. Worse, they refused to send a proper prior auth for hospital-based labs, even after I gave them everything they needed. I begged for help for weeks. Staff were rude, dismissive, and downright discriminatory once I pushed back. Then they had the nerve to charge me a $50 no-show fee even though I'm a Medicaid patient (and no, you can't legally do that). I filed formal complaints with the Florida Department of Health and Medicaid. This place treats low-income patients like garbage. Advanced Dermatology should be ashamed of how this location is run.

My appointment was at 3:10. They told me the address was 410 del Prado South. I put it into my GPS and it brought me to a different location. I called the office at that moment stressed out because I needed to be at my appointment in 5 minutes and they told me it was 4:13 del Prado. Whether that was my misunderstanding or the person who said it to me I don't know but either way I arrived 10 minutes late for my appointment and had called them 15 minutes in advance and they would not take me. I have never been to a doctor's appointment in my life at 66 years old that I was taken in exactly at the time of my appointment. Typically, doctors always make you wait. Some are much better than others many have you sit for an hour. Either way, 10 minutes late that was not my fault is ridiculous that they wouldn't take me when it was a situation that was urgent.

I went in for my checkup, was in a room, in a paper gown, and was then told because I mentioned my scalp, they hadn't allowed enough time! Standing there naked but they can only look at my head. Last I knew, your head is part of your body. Are you kidding me?!?! What a complete waste of MY time.

We genuinely felt the care given was 100%. However, the final bill after insurance coverage was a shock and, honestly, made us tear up a little. Even though our insurance covered about 60% of the charges, the out-of-pocket cost was still much higher than expected. I did call to see if paying the balance upfront would offer any sort of discount, but was told discounts are only available to those without medical coverage. I wanted to provide an honest review so others can be aware of what the financial side of visiting a dermatologist is like in 2025, even with insurance. While we are very satisfied with the results and care, we do wish dermatology services were more affordable for everyone.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This "dermatologist" (George Anderson, PA-C), showed a…read moreshocking level of ignorance and arrogance regarding the risks of Accutane. When I voiced concerns about the well-documented mental health side effects for my teenage son, the PA dismissed them entirely, telling me I needed to go find the research to support it. He even claimed--in front of my son--that there's only been one suicide linked to Accutane and that kids with acne are more likely to harm themselves because of the acne, not the medication. That's not only unprofessional, it's dangerous misinformation. The FDA literally mandates that providers monitor for mental health symptoms during isotretinoin treatment for a reason. This PA either doesn't know that or chooses to ignore it. To make things worse, he falsely insisted he had met my son at a previous appointment with his biological father--who lives in California and is not part of his life. My son was deeply uncomfortable by this. My husband, who was present, clarified the PA was mistaken, yet the PA brushed it off with no apology or sensitivity. At the second visit, the PA quickly told my son he "couldn't help him" because the first round of prescriptions hadn't worked. No empathy, no acknowledgment that teenage acne is often stubborn and needs time. His attitude is cold, dismissive, and frankly egotistical. My son would be at risk in this PA's care--not just because of the medical negligence, but because of the emotional damage his approach could cause. Do not trust this provider with your child's care.

Now for everyone seeing those two stars let me tell you the reasons why I will not be returning to the establishment . Upon my last visit which was back in I think February 2025. I went in for a routine visit and everything seemed normal there's a couple spots that I wanted to have taken off . The nurses assistant left the room to go check for insurance and came back and told me that there was an issue saying that I had to have clearance for my primary care physician before I could come and get anything removed . I work for the insurance company that I use and I know what my coverage carries I was allowed up to five biopsies a year without question . I explained this to the nurse who was very polite by the way and she's told me to hold on and she would check again . Then comes in the fun part . In walks in this tall blonde woman that had this look on her face like here we go again someone else that knows more than me kind of attitude. I explained to her my concerns and assured her that I knew what my coverage carried because I work for the insurance company . She insisted that I was wrong she did not let me speak she was very rude and forceful . She told me that I would have to go to my primary care physician first then get a referral to come back to get any biopsies . I'm sorry but my primary care physician is in a mole expert they aren't trained in melanoma which is why I came to this business . At this point I feel like it was a money grab I had already paid $130 that day they wanted me to go to my primary care physician pay another $100 copay then come back and pay another $130 for them to remove what could be removed right then and there . Me and my husband both have since found other care. Its a bummer that one person can ruin a whole experience. Upon a little investigation on this woman and prior places shes worked its a common pattern of behavior. I wish Harris Dermatology all the best but definitely need to weed out the bad egg
