I am new to the Bay Area, having just moved here from San Diego. I LOVED my dentist in San Diego and was not looking forward to the process of finding a new one. Unfortunately, I had to fast track the process due to a cracked filling. I did a bit of a google and Yelp search, crossing my fingers the whole time. I liked what I was reading about Dr. Yaley's practice and decided to take a chance. I emailed the office explaining my predicament, and received a response in short order from Sonia. She said they had two openings in the coming days and asked which would work better for me. I chose one and sent Sonia my insurance information. When I arrived for my appointment, Sonia had a big smile and all of the paperwork ready. In a matter of minutes, Mary (the hygienist) came out with her own great big smile and brought me back to the room. After getting all settled, Dr. Yaley came in and spoke to me for a few minutes to get acquainted and caught up on my dilemma. Dr. Yaley walked me through my options. Once we agreed on the course of action, Dr. Yaley took incredible care of me during the process - taking all necessary steps to minimize any discomfort - and got me all fixed up and feeling better. Dr. Yaley and her staff are AWESOME! As much as I liked my previous dentist, I was even happier with this team. If patient care and a friendly staff matter to you, don't make the mistake of trying anywhere else. This is the place to go. read more

Truly a fabulous experience! Dr. Yaley cares deeply about dentistry and is very interested in you and your teeth! She's kind and intelligent and enthused about her chosen profession. This was my first visit and she carefully went over my intake form with me. There was zero guilt over my honest reporting of poor flossing habits, just some gentle education and encouragement that was actually motivating. I learned so much on this visit. She explained what the numbers she was calling out re: my gums meant, what the various categories meant re: my gum health. All of my numbers were ones that with the combined cleaning and a little more zeal for flossing on my part could be rectified in a matter of months. I found this very motivating. She recommended a cleaner for my mouth guard and gave me a sample. It works wonderfully and now I'll wear the darn thing, which was her goal. I'd told her it felt yucky and unclean and that's why I wasn't wearing it (my previous dentist had told me to just brush it, but that left toothpaste residue). She also allotted plenty of time for my visit and let me know we would take whatever amount of time was needed to answer all my questions. Also, her staff was trained to kindly mention what they were about to do to my mouth before they did it, aka spray water, or use a buffing tool. I found that left me much more relaxed than the usual surprise. Her assistant gave me a small sample toothbrush that I can use to clean behind my retainer bar and used a sample mouth to demonstrate how to best clean it with my electric toothbrush (not the intuitive manner). read more

I visited Dr. Yaley last Thursday and couldn't have been happier. She was very honest and direct and most importantly, she kept me optimistic about my extensive repairs. She even squeezed me in for an early appointment the following day. She truly cared about her patients. I'm so happy I found her! I will be recommending her to everyone. read more

Dr. Boucher is simply the best dentist there is. He really knows what he's doing and is incredibly good at his craft. More important that just mastering dentistry, Dr. Boucher connects with his patients. He spends the time learning what our concerns are and what we care about. He uses this to make us feel comfortable and prioritize what work we may need done and how best to do it. His entire office gets 5 stars too. From routine cleanings, X-Rays, to scheduling. It's all 5 stars. Did I mention his sense of humor? I actually look forward to going to the dentist because I actually have a good time there. read more

At Thanksgiving my family went around the table and named someone they were thankful for in 2018. I named my new dentist, Andrea Yaley! I had a crown in June 2016 done by a dentist located in North Carolina (NC). From day 1, it hurt EVERY TIME I ate or drank anything. Even room temperature water hurt it. (Think about how many times a day you eat a bite or take a drink of water.) I was in constant pain. I learned how to eat on the other side of my mouth and I made sure never to let anything cold touch that tooth. I went back several times to the dentist in NC. He said there was nothing he could do and he recommended a root canal. I moved to CA and saw Dr. Yaley for the first time in Sept 2018. I told her about the painful crown. She recommended a simple prescription toothpaste. Within a few weeks, I was completely pain free. I felt like she'd performed a miracle. I still use the toothpaste occasionally and I am still pain free. My tooth is fine. I can eat anything now pain free...including ice cream, cold drinks, etc. After the amazing job she did for me, she is now the dentist for all my family. read more

Thanks to Yelp, I found Dr. Boucher! He and his staff are very friendly and informative. Dr. Boucher is a really cool guy and I enjoyed chatting with him about 'cougar night at The Rosewood Hotel lounge'. =P He has all of the latest and greatest 'toys' in his office (ones my last dentist didn't have). He zoomed in on my digital x-rays to point out calculus, explain the work needed to be done and used a laser instrument to detect cavities. He even took a picture of a tooth that had a missing filling! The cleaning was a bit painful - I'm not a big fan of that vibrating instrument Beth used. =/ Overall, it was a great experience and my teeth feel nice and clean. read more

I couldn't believe how helpful Dr. Boucher was for my initial exam! He was very thorough and explained everything to me using x-rays and pictures taken of my mouth. I have been looking for a good dentist, and have been through a couple that don't really explain anything to me. I hadn't been to the dentist in 15 years and chose Dr. Yaley somewhat randomly when I broke a tooth. I was very anxious but she got me scheduled after-hours since that was the only time I could come in and made me feel very welcome. She explained everything in as much detail as I wanted and listened to what I had to say. Subsequent appointments have been great- my anxiety is so minimal now you'd hardly know I was ever afraid to go to the dentist! read more

Dr. Boucher has been my dentist since before I had teeth... literally. My mother has been using his services since he started his practice in Menlo Park. From the stories she told me, she took me in once to see him when I still only had gums, and after taking a look he told her that I was lucky because I'd never need braces, and had perfect teeth. Having never needed braces growing up, and having had perfect dental care for 26 years, I highly recommend Dr. Boucher. His entire staff is courteous and professional, from the receptionist to his dental hygienists. After every cleaning, Dr. Boucher always personally comes in to check if the cleaning meets his standards. My one and only complaint about Dr. Boucher is that he's going to end up retiring someday before I'll be done needing his services. Not looking forward to that. read more

I had a terrible experience at Dr. Yaley's office and would caution everyone to read the fine print before signing up with her. When I first set up my appointment, I was told that she accepts Delta Dental insurance, which has a small copay and covers the majority of the treatment's cost. However, after going through the treatment, her office says that the insurance paid very little because she's OUT OF NETWORK. When I objected and said it was unfair that they didn't make this clear upfront, they offered a 10% "discount", which I refused on principle. I ended up paying almost a thousand dollars out of my own pocket for deep cleaning. Overall, I was disgusted by what I felt were shady tactics and would recommend all my friends to stay away. read more

Dr. Boucher is an incredible dentist. Three days before my wedding (now almost 5 years ago!) I got an infected wisdom tooth, and found the first dentist in the yellow pages that was available. He turned out to be a great bet. He pulled my tooth, and assured me I would be fine for my wedding, giving me his pager number in case I ran into any problems--he called me over the next 2 days to make sure I was still okay. My tooth was fine, as promised. He was helpful, attentive, and very professional. I recommend him to all of my friends in the area. read more

Dr Yaley and her staff are terrific. After not going to the dentist for a while, she was very courteous and explained everything. Even better, she LISTENED! I have my procedure (well, what did I expect) and my next cleaning scheduled and will be sending my husband as well. Dr. Boucher is a good dentist and makes sure that he has good hygienists - he's asked me my opinion on new ones several times. He has new equipment and can usually squeeze you in. Plus he's a good guy. Update: New hygenist is great. Good location w/ parking in downtown Menlo Park. Great. read more

Dr. Boucher is simply AMAZING! Having stayed away from dentists for far too long due to a reoccurrence of bad experiences I was quite reluctant to see a dentist. I found him on Yelp and was amazed by all of the positive review. I called to schedule an appointment as a new patient and everything was easy. Which is usually not the case. I very much enjoyed my first visit to Dr. Boucher's office. His staff is very personable and down to earth. Quite honestly, I get annoyed by the over enthusiastic staff with the fake smiles and disingenuous demeanor but Lisa and Mary are a pair of very nice ladies who immediately made me feel welcome! During my first appointment, I got the unfortunate news that I needed a root canal. My heart literally sank as I'm pretty sure this is the procedure that made me take a long hiatus from visiting the dentist but Dr. Boucher blew me away with his patience, attentiveness and candid humor. I just got a sense of peace and knew all would be well. For most, this would be a pretty complicated procedure... My situation was not pretty. He literally had to cut tissue away to get to my tooth. You would think ouch, right? I had zero pain during and after the procedure. I literally walked out of the office and went on with my day as if nothing happened. I'm so thankful and feel so lucky to have found Dr. Boucher! I will recommend him to anyone in need of a great dentist!! read more

Wow! Who would ever be fearful of a dentist? I haven't been to a dentist in over 3 years, so it was a pleasure to walk into Dr. Boucher's office today. The staff is small, extremely friendly and personable. I have never been to a dentist like it (Thank you fellow yelpers for the recommendation). I would definitely recommend his services to anyone, especially if you prefer a dentist that *KNOWS* what he's talking about, and he doesn't hold back any concerns or issues he discovers. I've been self conscious of my uneven and chipped front teeth and finally decided to do something about it. As I was researching, I stumbled randomly upon Dr. Yaley's office and after my consultation, I knew this was the office for me! Staff is amazing. Professional and friendly. This review is for Dr. Andrea Yaley who has taken over Dr. Boucher's office. Dr. Yaley and her entire team are great! They are professional, courteous and are great communicators. I have a few challenges (cavities, crown and a possible implant) and found Dr. Yaley to be both direct and kind. She has a wonderful chair-side manner. Dr. Boucher will be very missed but I am extremely glad to be in Dr. Yaley's care! Also, the dental office environment is comfortable and modern. Dr. Yaley and her staff are the quintessential hometown dentist office offering everything you could want from state-of-the-art general dentistry to state of the art dental implant restoration, crowns, Invisaligln, whitening etc. The office has a friendly vibe where you will feel right at home. The staff is exemplary and takes an interest in every individual; you are more then a number to them. Unlike other dentists, I nave never felt that Dr. Yaley was trying to up-sell or push me into doing a procedure that wasn't necessary. Last year I was very upset about a rude phone receptionist at this practice which I patronized for decades until Dr. Boucher passed away in November 2915. I learned today that the serious receptionist problems the new dentist had, had finally been resolved, and again I am very impressed with the new dentist, Andrea Haley, and her staff. She is understanding, honest, would have to be extremely good at her work in order to be the dentist selected by the amazing Douglas Boucher's family to replace him, and Mary is still the lovely assistant she has always been. I've been going to Dr. Boucher since the early '90s. I like going there because he hires great dental hygienists. Over the years, I've tried a few other dentists, whenever I moved within the SF Bay Area. Yet, I wasn't able to find the same quality of hygienists. And when I don't have company-paid health insurance, I still go to Dr. Boucher! One thing to note is that his office can be a little difficult to find, if you haven't been there, but it's well worth finding. read more

Dr. Boucher & all of his staff are WONDERFUL!! From the moment you walk in, until the moment you leave, you feel like you are at a spa more than a dentist office! Everyone is friendly and professional and they make you feel very comfortable. Dr. Boucher is extremely knowledgable, gentle and honest! I was told by another DDS that I needed about $3,500 in work. Dr. Boucher examined me and the digital xrays and determined that I didn't need ANY of the work the other DDS told me I did!! He did however find a very small cavity--which happened to be my first at age 39 :( Needless to say, I was a little scared. He has a great bedside manner. I didn't feel a thing when he filled it. Dr. Boucher and his team are amazing, I have decided to travel to Northern California for my families dental work, as he is so honest and gives the highest quality dental work. Dr. Boucher and his office are welcoming, non-threatening and completely professional. Additionally, he is humorous about people's fears of going to the dentist and is able to distract and make you laugh. A breath of fresh air if you tend to dread and put off going to the dentist. I hadn't been to the dentist in several years and in one hour Dr. Boucher diagnosed the issues and laid out a plan. Rather than periodontics he recommended deep cleaning, which has worked very well. Everybody likes to think they have the "Best Dentist in the World", and I have to say, I feel that way about Dr. Yaley. Her office is bright, cheerful, with a great staff. Dr. Yaley puts equal emphasis on good dental hygiene and making your smile the best it can be. She does all the basic things well. I just had a cavity filled last week, and it was a uneventful, and non-painful experience. Her crowns also feel great. However, everybody does the basics. This office does that but much more. She also has tips and supplies for teeth whitening, Invisilign, and other more cosmetic dental care. She also has a terrific dental hygienist, Hong who is easy to get into see, and does a thorough job. So many dental offices these days seem like corporations......in big buildings and with slick logos. Dentistry is an intensely personal service and I've always thought is best delivered by an experience dentist in a small, intimate environment. Dr. Yaley's office is just that. Excellent dentistry delivered in a small, personalized environment. Her office is in the heart of Menlo Park. Easy to get to and easy to park. I can't recommend this office enough. It is a great place to get your dental care for years and years. read more

I'm so sorry for the loss of Dr. Boucher. Unfortunately my experience with the "replacement staff" was not good (except for the hygienist who was filling in for Hong, she was fantastic, thorough, gentle and kind). I let them know in advance I was not planning to get a full set of x-rays that day, only to have my dental hygiene appointment and meet the new Dentist (I was trying to do all of this on my lunch hour). When I walked in the door, my "greeting" was having a waiver immediately shoved in my face by Debra, regarding the x-rays. Whoa, what kind of an "introduction" is this? I then had a great hygiene appointment, however my meeting with the new Dentist, Yaley, revealed her philosophy to be much different than Dr. Boucher's (her talk was full of "scare tactics", which I do not appreciate, I appreciated Dr. Boucher's down to earth, real communications). Not only this, but after I had agreed to a full set of x-rays (which I had wanted to wait on while I decided about the Dentist) ....I realized Dr. Yaley's philosophy was different and sadly decided to look elsewhere for my future dental care needs. When I asked for a copy of my own x-rays, Debra gave me a hard time about it (I needed them in order to switch to a new dentist and ask they be sent directly to me). Finally Dr. Yaley did come through (I guess Debra, working there, doesn't realize by law the Patient can indeed receive their own dental x-rays?!?) I'm so disappointed to have had this type of experience in Dr. Boucher's office, which still bears his name. read more
