I have nothing but great things to say about my experience at Grace Dental. I've been looking for a new dentist after not keeping up with my dental care the last couple of years and finally found an office that I felt comfortable with. The space is clean and modern with top of the line equipment... they even gave me a tour of the facility and a goodie bag with full sized products upon my first visit. The entire staff from the front desk to the hygienists and doctors are all warm and welcoming. I never felt pressured or upsold on anything and while they are constantly booked up with appointments months out, they set aside dates and times for new patients and/or emergencies. On top of that, they're open early in the mornings AND on weekends so they make it easy for people who can't take time off of work during the week. I've done a deep cleaning here, replaced an old crown and even did the in-office zoom teeth whitening. All in all, I highly recommend coming to Grace Dental if you're looking for a good dentist. read more

Twelve years ago, at a different dental office, I received incisor veneers that recently began to chip--a predictable limitation of veneers given their finite lifespan. Upon consultation, Dr. Kwon at Grace Dental carefully examined my case and determined that transitioning to a crown would provide three times the durability and long-term function. His clinical judgment was exacting, and the crown was delivered flawlessly within two weeks. Today, I can confidently enjoy biting into an apple or a crusty bánh mì without the slightest hesitation. That is the mark of restorative dentistry done properly. Equally notable is Dr. Kwon's stewardship of patient care beyond the chair. He ensures that Grace Dental's limited parking is prioritized for patients, which I greatly appreciate. Unfortunately, certain online reviewers have chosen to mischaracterize issues unrelated to dental care, offering commentary that borders on slander rather than constructive feedback. For the record, public street parking falls under municipal jurisdiction; pursuant to city ordinance, curbside access is not private property. Taxpayers maintain these streets, and no resident--affluent or otherwise--holds exclusive rights. As such, grievances about lawful parking have no place in evaluating a healthcare provider. From a legal standpoint, Yelp reviews must reflect actual patient care experiences, not neighborhood disputes or conjecture. Misuse of this platform to disparage a practice for matters outside the scope of dental treatment undermines its purpose and, if persistent, may warrant reporting for removal as defamatory content. To those who invest their time policing cars rather than building community: I will pray for your peace of mind. Perhaps consider that fuller streets deter opportunistic crime, and as scripture wisely reminds us, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor." In short: do better. Don't be deceived by the shiny office or promotional swag they give you. Read the other reviews. This dental practice has a pattern of predatory upselling. They push deep cleanings as if they're necessary when they're not and it's a cool few hundred dollars they collect in cash from you because it's not covered by insurance. The deep cleaning was recommended at my first visit after having moved to the area and not having similar comments from the prior dentist I visited regularly. I've since moved on to a different dental practice who did not have the same findings as this office. It's a clear money grab and the last thing I want is to second guess if I need care or it's just an upsell that well better line this dental practice's pockets. read more

Do NOT come to this dental office - there are plenty of honest dentists in this area who will not upsell you on unnecessary services and fleece your insurance coverage. My wife came here for years for general dentistry care and had a previous positive experience, covered by Delta Dental PPO. RDHs and dentists were decent, efficient and effective. Then she encountered Dr. Dehghani, who was a per-diem DDS working in this clinic. I believe he was ultimately hired on as a full time dentist, as he's now listed on their website. He offered and advised that she complete a "deep cleaning and scaling" and up sold the additional service as something she needed emergently otherwise her teeth would be permanently damaged. He also sold her on this extra expensive mouthwash that he claimed was necessary. This is in a 32-year-old with excellent dental hygiene daily, making all normal dental appointments without issues. Since then, we spoke to 3 separate dentists who reviewed her record and exam and have essentially said this service was unquestionably unnecessary for her and it was clearly an upsell. I would be less flattering and call it fraud and complete evil opportunism by this dentist. This dishonest dentist reviewed our new insurance and saw that it was very generous coverage, so he drained the rest of her coverage for the year in MAR 2024, leaving her completely out of pocket for the rest of the year after charging her more than $1900+ for unnecessary services ($477 per QUADRANT of teeth). I'm guessing this is how they pay for their pretty facade and fancy Menlo Park office. The dental cleaning itself was fine, but after her coverage was emptied, when we moved and she was onboarded at a new dentist, we realized that Grace Dental had defrauded us with this ridiculous service when she had no coverage even for a checkup and cleaning at our new home. Our new dentist was surprised how she had no further coverage in the fall! Dentists are supposed to help you navigate your insurance and help you get the care you need when you need it. This dentist saw a juicy PPO plan and cleaned it out along with her teeth. She called them to see if they would make this right but was essentially given the run around and told that this was a service-completed, so nothing could be done. Strongly do NOT RECOMMEND this dental office for your family's dental care. read more

This was a fantastic first appointment that exceeded my expectations! Not only was I able to schedule a super early & convenient appointment, but the space is beautiful, clean, and modern with the most advanced technology. The receptionist Raquel was very warm and inviting, and dental tech Felipe was also very welcoming and communicative about today's consultation and cleaning. Dr. Mei was so personable and enjoyable to talk to. She is very knowledgeable and has great insight even with it being the first appointment. I never felt like they were trying to upsell or advertise any treatment as one might fear with a first visit. I have been to many dental offices in my life, and I've experienced nothing as amazing as Grace dental. The front office is extremely welcoming and explained my treatment very well. On top of the amazing front office, the doctors are extremely professional and ease all my anxiety about having any dental work done. Dr. Dehghani is the best and so informative. Grace Dental might get by for routine cleanings or small cavities, but for anything more serious--especially implants or bone grafting--I do not recommend this place. At first, you'll be met with fake friendliness: endless emails, probing questions like "where do you work" (to size up your wallet), constant upsells, and surprise charges for things you never asked for. Annoying, but manageable--until the procedures get serious. That's when everything unravels. During my implant, Dr. Kang forgot tools mid-placement and allowed random people without medical attire to linger in the room. When I questioned it, I was brushed off and gaslit into believing this was "normal." If it's so normal, why bother with medical attire at all? The bone grafting was equally sloppy: poorly done stitches, using dark thread --compared to other clinics that use transparent sutures with proper technique. When I raised serious questions about placement and infection risk, nothing was done. The implant failed. Statistically, that's rare (~3%), but here they shrugged and offered no meaningful support. The owner Dr. Kwon was rude and unprofessional. I was left with a failed procedure, thousands of dollars lost, and the need to start over elsewhere. Currently I am starting a process to obtain my medical information and a refund will update this post regarding this in a bit. Stay safe out there, hope this post helps. read more

The hygienists and dentists are nice enough, and seem to do a good job. The facility is spotlessly clean and efficient. Two things drive me nuts - there is lots of upselling. I've never had someone try to upsell me on a fluoride treatment. I'm interested in Invisalign, but worry that their assessment is based more on profit than need, so I've put it off. They also book waaaay far in advance. For a place that feels like a bit of a mill, it seems like you should be able to book a cleaning sooner than three months from now. They communicate via email and text - most recently with me, on the same attempt to schedule an appointment - which can be confusing. I can see how this set up works for some, but I'm looking for a more personal and less profit-driving experience, so am looking for a new dentist. read more

I highly recommend Grace Dental. As a new patient they were booked a ways out but ever since then I've been able to schedule all my visits, including short notice ones very promptly. They're really professional, have many options for appointment times and respond quickly to messages. They have an easy way to schedule appointments online which is nice. This practice is probably fine for routine cleaning since they have good hygienists but not a good idea to get anything big done. Dr. Kwon is over-aggressive in recommending treatment. I went in for something minor and was pressured into getting two crowns (scared me with wrong diagnosis). The work was done carelessly, with margins placed way too deep under the gums. Almost immediately, I started having issues that should have been expected--but instead of addressing them, Dr. Kwon acted clueless (with a smile) and kept sending me from one specialist to another. One of those specialists finally identified the real issue--biological width violation caused by the crowns. As soon as that was mentioned, Dr. Kwon threw a fit, insisted he was meeting the "standard of care" (which is a very low bar in dentistry), and refused to take responsibility. Meanwhile, I faced weeks of delays trying to get simple adjustments for bite issues and bad taste. His over adjustments messed up my entire left side now, and I am unable to eat for 9 months on the left. Worst of all, one of the permanent crowns I was supposed to get was never even delivered, forcing me to finish treatment elsewhere at my own expense. I have paid thousands of dollars trying to fix Dr. Kwon's mistakes. My experience has been stressful, costly, and damaging to my dental and overall health. Save yourself the time, money, and pain: avoid this practice. read more

First of all, I love the location. Very convenient and easy to get to. I was greeted warmly by the front desk and the eagerness to want to help me or guide me in the right direction. Very clean and organized in the waiting area and restroom and exam rooms. After being seated, Yuna was very professional and amazing. She was very accommodating and made my dental experience very relaxed and less anxious. Everything was quick, and I loved how they do not waste any time. I am surprised at the experience I have had with this practice considering the rave reviews. We recently moved to the area and considering the conveniece of the location to us and the reviews we looked no further. I made an appointment 3 months ago for new patient for my kids. They called me multiple times during this time to reschedule sooner and later than the actual date. On the day of the actual appointment at 2.20 I had left work early and picked kids to make it on time. They called one hour before scheduled time to cancel. The irony is they have a rule charging 100$ per kid for cancelation after the 24 hour window. They repeatedly insisted no one can see the kids on the scheduled day with no regret in their conversation for the inconvenience that it put us through. After much back and forth expressing disappointment and calling multiple times they informed me at 2.05 that a provider will see me at 2.30. While I was on my way they called saying I was late for my appointment when it was 2.25 saying they planned to see me at the original 2.20 time. Firstly this experience was my initial encounter with the practice and they do not value the time of the clients or think it necessary to inform with more notice about cancelations. After such a negative interaction even before seeing a provider i thought it would be in best interest of my kids to start at a different practice read more

Took my daughter for her first ever pediatric dentist appointment here at the reco of a friend. Dr. Sam was kind, patient and made a point to talk directly to my daughter most of the appointment which I really appreciated. Our hygienist Heather was similarly so kind and patient with her, letting her explore the tools, gloves, chair etc at her own pace to get comfortable with the process and room before asking her to open wide. The space is clean, with a very kid friendly lobby filled with books, tablets to play and playful decor. We did have to wait quite a bit between the hygienist and dentist which is the only reason I'm not giving them a 5 star, my daughter (1.5 years at the time) got impatient which is never fun for a toddler parent haha. read more

This practice is really excellent - i've been coming here for years, and i really think they strike a good balance between seeing to my routine care and encouraging me to take better care of myself. I go in for cleaning 3 times a year and my teeth are looking white and shiny, but i also appreciate getting the holistic check-ins each visit so I don't need to worry about anything showing up out of the blue. Heidi is their new advanced practice person who is highly skilled, kind, careful. I will gladly put myself in her hands in the future for things she is skilled to do. Detailed response below: I have to say that I have faced numerous issues at the dental practice but the extremely delayed visit was just the last straw. I'm truly disappointed with the level of service and professionalism displayed by you and your team, especially the front desk and insurance staff. This is in stark contrast with the brand new facilities, nice ambience, and extremely efficient online platforms, which once made me think that Grace Dental would have been a great place for me as a patient. Firstly, let's talk about the outrageous charging and billing practices. It's becoming painfully clear that the primary goal seems not my dental health but squeezing as much money as possible out of your patients .I expect transparency and honesty when it comes to financial matters, which seems to be sorely lacking in how the front desk generates and communicates the numbers. When I was waiting 30+ mins into my next appointment, I checked in with the front desk on my billing and they kept quoting that it was an estimate and kept saying "what quote, what quote" when I was referring to a dentrix quote your team sent me a few weeks ago. The level of rudeness I faced with your insurance team has also been appalling. Every single time they kept telling me that numbers will be adjusted but have never followed up until my reminder phone calls, after which they chose to give me the silent treatment. Moreover, I don't have to dwell on the time management - I understand that the clinic is busy, but if it has to constantly run 15+ mins late (and 60 mins last time, after I am numbed in a chair), why bother scheduling me at that time to start with? Regardless of my treatment, when I was escorted out, the only thing the front desk cared about is my billing... oh and when I am coming back next, so there will be more billing. Let's not forget the icing on the cake - when I first started at Grace Dental, I was seen by Dr. Karen Mei, who *DID NOT* realize that my crown teeth need a root canal re-evaluation, which ultimately led to a delay in the process and insurance billing, which added much financial stress (3k+) to my 2023 dental budget/spending. I had a great experience at this dental office! The process was fast and smooth and I was in and out in no time. The staff was super friendly upon arrival shout out to Annabelle and my dentist as always here is Dr D! Team Dehghani haha no, but also Dr Kwon both are very soft spoken not in a rush! Please avoid Dr. Mei. Everyone else in the clinic is great and the office is clean. As other people mentioned, Dr. Mei also wasn't able to tell whether a family member of mine needs a root canal and sent him back home with excruciating tooth pain. Due to my schedule change, I was seen by Dr. Mei recently. She damaged my gums while doing a simple cavity filling. (To be specific, the head of the drill was hitting my gums while the body of the drill was hitting the part of the teeth needs to have the work done.) Never had a dentist was this careless about their work. I never had any gums issues or bleeding issues, here I am, a week after the filling and my gums is still bleeding. How am I going to enjoy those nice meals during holidays? Very sad. read more

Prefacing this review by saying that I am a young early 20s individual without dental insurance who came to Grace Dental apprehensively because they looked way too nice for me to be able to afford and I was afraid of facing judgement from the staff for being on a budget without insurance. I made an appointment for an initial consult because one of my fillings fell out. This filling is more complicated since I had to go to an endodontist for a root canal and at that time could not afford a crown, so we opted for a filling instead. This is the filling that chipped. The office is new, clean, and beautiful. I was given a tour of their office and asked questions about my priorities and primary concerns. Their communication was amazing. The dental assistant started by taking x-rays of my area of concern as well as photographs for the doctors reference. I chose to see Dr. Mei because I generally feel more comfortable with women in regards to my healthcare. She was incredibly friendly and also communicative with what my treatment plan should be. She recommended a crown and described in depth about crown lengthening and why a crown is better for the integrity of my tooth versus just a filling. I was presented with an estimate for the crown as well as a different estimate for the filling. Unfortunately, because I do not yet have dental insurance I could only do the filling. I was able to get an appointment the next week for this filling. I saw Dr. Mei again and was afraid of receiving judgement because I only chose to do a filling, but she was kind and still did a wonderful job on my filling while communicating with me throughout the procedure and checking in to make sure I was doing okay. Dr. Mei is gentle, professional, and communicative. All her assistants are very kind. I felt no judgement whatsoever from any of the staff - also a bonus that you can watch Netflix while getting your teeth done. I will definitely be coming back here again to see Dr. Mei once I get my ducks in a row. Excellent experiences, great doctors, assistants, and facility. As I was looking for a dentist near my home, I was delighted to find Grace Dental within my walking distance. The building is new, bright, spotlessly clean, and the equipment, state of the art. The staff members I have encountered are all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The dentist assigned to me, Dr. Karen Mei, is excellent. She is not only highly skilled in her work, she has empathy for her patients. She treats me, a person with unique vulnerabilities, with respect and consideration. She also explains my dental condition clearly and makes appropriate recommendations while leaving the decision to me, which is very important. We started coming here in 2022 and always had good experiences. We noticed a shift recently (January 2025) at our last appointments and have decided to leave the practice. There are major inconsistencies with the quality of care you receive from one dental hygienist to the next. We also received aggressive recommendations from one of the dentists to treat problems that actually did not exist. It is also very difficult to get in touch with anyone in billing (by phone or by email) and I still have unanswered questions from previous bills.
