This surgery was partially successful, However, my primary reason for writing this review was that last year, Dr. Lee was very adamant that a salivary gland lump/cyst I had was nothing to be concerned about and several enlarged lymph nodes in my clavicle area could be looked at again in "several months". He knew I was a lymphoma survivor, yet said this, anyway. He was extremely arrogant and was very condescending. I then went to my prior oncologist, who got me a biopsy right away. It turned out to be diffuse large B cell lymphoma in my salivary gland. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone, unless it was something very simple for him to deal with. If I could rate him 0, I would do so.

I can't recommend Dr Hwang- I had a 4-part sinus surgery with Dr Hwang and now I'm in constant,…read morechronic pain in my right sinus and Eustachian tube area, and I've also developed a facial spasm on my right nostril, due to the area being hit. The area is also frequently blocked or congested, and even nasal corticosteroids, allergy shots (I'm on the 2nd level of maintenance) and antihistamines aren't fixing the issue. This has made it hard for me to continue the sport I love, scuba diving. Another issue is that when the surgery was done, he didn't put the plugs/hard gauze into my sinuses to hold my septum in place while it heals. From what I researched, and checking with another doctor, putting these in is the best practice. Now it almost feels like it reverted, and got worse. I paid him in full for the surgery, and for everything, but when I went back for a follow up and explained the issues, he kind of just said everything is fine, but... it's definitely not. I left a review on Google, and even that he didn't seem to care. So it's alarming, because if you have trouble with Dr Hwang, is he really going to help you? Or is he just going to write you off, like he did me? I'm really hoping if Dr Hwang could help me get this resolved and actually look for a real solution to these clear issues and not just blow it off. Considering he's a doctor, and this is what he does, surely there's a way to fix it. If he ever makes things right I'll remove this. I first met with Dr Barr of this group practice in 1990. I had been ill for over a year, had a…read morevariety of biopsies, two root canals, thyroid scan, whole body scan, all to discover why I had a lump behind my ear. I had no working diagnosis, only a vague reference to having Epstein Barr syndrome. I had been to an event where someone mentioned that the local expert on Epstein-Barr was Dr. Barr. So I booked an appointment. Within 2 minutes of looking over my binder of biopsies etc, he said, "you don't fit the profile of patients I see with this syndrome, but be prepared to hear that it is serious when we do get a diagnosis." He pointed to one of the biopsies where it said something like "it is not ... hodgkins lymphoma, but we cannot rule out ....xxx...however unlikely it seems" Within a week, I was scheduled for a biopsy of the lump behind my ear and within two weeks, I got the dreadful news. A week later I started chemo and have obviously defied the odds to write this review. Dr. Barr has since retired, but I continued to see other doctors in this ENT practice. I've found all of them to be excellent physicians. The support surrounding the practice is outstanding. They know insurance plans. You are seen at your appointed time. I can usually be seen for acute conditions such as sinusitis the same day; if not at the Chain Bridge location, then at the K-Street location.

Last time my appt was delayed by around an hour, so that I had to reschedule after spending time driving and waiting. It is common to bill one visit (exam and hearing test) as multiple visits, and the patient ends up with paying double the copay for one visit. Such double copay happened to me in 2018 and 2020; I spent hours on the phone trying to process it correctly through the insurance.

I have no issue paying for services rendered, but I would have appreciated receiving statements along the way instead of one large bill at the end. When I requested a detailed bill so I could submit it to my insurance company, I was told the office does not handle billing directly and that I needed to call an 1-866 number. I left at least ten voicemails. Each time, I was told someone would return my call within two days. I never received a single callback. I then went back to the office in person to request a detailed charge history. I was told I needed to speak with the office manager. After leaving her several messages with no response, I returned again and was told she was in a conference call. On my most recent visit, when I tried to speak with her directly, she refused and shut the door to avoid the conversation. This is a facility I trusted with my medical care. The complete lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism has left me feeling extremely disappointed and disrespected. I will not be returning and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

I guess I picked him because he had numerous accolades and titles and it seemed he was the chief of some advanced ENT society. Well, I was wrong. He used a light to look in my ears and my nose, and used a little mirror to look in my throat. I brought him a copy of a film of a sinus cat scan, and also some medical history (last endoscopy which diagnosed esophagitis and sinusitis) in 2019. He sort of shrugged his shoulders, said my issues were complex, and to see a doctor of rheumatology. Apparently this dude is more a facial plastic surgeon than an ENT doctor. He actually said some of my sinus issues could be due to implant rejection. WHAT????? He also made a comment about my youthful facial appearance. Another insinuation, I suppose. BTW- I've found seeing doctors during the COVID paranoia causes the patient to receive less quality care. TJB.
