Dr. Weiss has treated both of my daughters for various soccer related injuries. Most recently he treated my youngest for trauma that she incurred on the bottom portion of her right tibia. Dismissive. Disinterested. I've heard of doctors behaving this way but never experienced it until now. I came in with persistent shoulder pain and the doctor's response was just this side of an eye roll. That is until an x-ray showed it was frozen shoulder. I was told bluntly "It happens to women in their 40's. Can last up to 3 years", given a printout of a few exercises off of Google, and sent on my way. No PT. No treatment. I was left to find help elsewhere which I'm happy to say that I did. A friend had the exact same dismissive experience, but with her 5 year old which makes it all the worse. read more

I visited Dr. Weiss's office today as a first time patient with my 3 year old daughter. She rolls her feet in when she walks and I was concerned that she may need orthotics and a brace. Dr. Weiss came in with a great big smile even though I could tell he was swamped with patients and he was at the end of a very hard day. He totally charmed my 3 year old and even made her laugh while he was examining her. And then the unexpected happened. He said "you're gonna have to trust me on this.... she is going to be totally FINE." Here I was thinking my child is going to need all this medical intervention and thousands in doctors bills and Dr. Weiss was so honest and forthcoming saying everything would be alright and she will eventually outgrow it. Dr. Weiss and his team were amazing. Unfortunately, I had to bring my baby there for a cast and Dr. Weiss was so kind. He made me feel much better about the whole situation. He knows that as the parent, I was probably way more distraught than the baby and he explained everything and assured me this happens and it will heal and be ok. The best part was as they were putting the cast on and my baby was of course crying, they suggested a video. So I was trying to sort that out but clearly was distracted by my baby crying and couldn't quite figure it out. Dr. Weiss then took my phone, got it working for my son and he finally calmed down. It was intuitive Dr. Weiss could tell I was upset for my baby and not able to focus on the phone! I can't tell you how the smallest acts are appreciated! His office location was nice because it had parking spaces right in front of the building. The office was clean. The energy was clean. Dr Weiss was super efficient, easy going and nice. I did x-rays and got my elbow brace for 5weeks. Found out my elbow doesn't have any mucus left tears or cracks in my bone. He was nice and friendly. I appreciated his staff and him. I was sent here on a referral from Beverly Hills urgent care. I was charge $400 for this man to do absolutely nothing but give me a brace. I had already purchased a brace from urgent care. Not one single staff member could manage to tell me what my visit was going to cost. I was sent there for him to reset my knuckles and this man did nothing but make me wait in agonizing pain. Then had the nerve to present me with a $400 bill. After referring yet another person to Dr. Weiss I thought I would drop in and drop him a review. Dr. Weiss saved my life...TRULY! I am a runner and several years ago I was having some high hamstring pain and went to several Sports Medicine Dr's and got the same diagnosis - High Hamstring Pull. I spent thousands of dollars just for my condition to worsen. I was recommended to Dr. Weiss and within 2 minutes of my appointment he informed me that I had broken my pelvis. Not the news I wanted to hear but at least the diagnosis was right. I then went onto heal, then I broke my pelvis on the other side and then my ribs broke this is when we found out that I had severe osteoporosis, this was when I was still quite young only 42. Dr. Weiss put me on a plan to continue return to running and a year after my initial diagnosis I went on to run the Boston Marathon which I have now ran 5x. I also have completed 3 - 100 Mile Endurance runs and multiple other Ultra Running events. I want to thank him for not handing me the " you shouldn't run again" diagnosis like everyone else did. As someone who had an ACL reconstruction from a martial arts accident many years ago, I wasn't looking forward to going to another orthopedic doc. Dr. Weiss is a great surprise! I could hear him weaving from room to room speaking to patients, addressing each with genuine care, concern and expertise. I'm impressed that his approach to my issue is to be as non-invasive as possible. He was very understanding about my concerns. It's obvious that he is whip-smart, yet he also has a lot of humility which is so refreshing. Thanks, Dr. Weiss! UPDATE: Dr. Weiss saved me from having a surgery! Two other docs told me I had to have something removed. Dr. Weiss told me to "try not to think about this, put it on the calendar for a month from now, look at it and report back to me". He was 99% sure that it didn't need surgery. I took his advice and he was 100% correct! The issue resolved itself! Had I listened to the other 2 doctors, I would have had an unnecessary surgery, but thanks to Dr. Weiss, I didn't go through that! read more

We saw Dr. Weiss for my 2 y.o.'s broken arm in December 2012 . He was fantastic with her and was very descriptive and willing to part with tons of information, which can be very comforting when your child is hurt. Three months later, my daughter fell off a chair (she is clearly clumsy and this comes from my wife's blood line I'm guessing) and this happened on a Saturday morning. I called his office and explained the situation to his answering service. In the meantime we began driving to Children's Hospital. While waiting in the hospital, Dr. Weiss called 20 minutes later and was clearly in his car with his wife and children. I told him what had happened and he told me to immediately leave the hospital and meet him at his office in Beverly Hills. We did. We arrived before him and when the elevator opened he and his 7 y.o. daughter greeted us with a stuffed animal. It was pretty amazing. He took x-rays and she had indeed broken her elbow. Dr. Weiss showed me the x-rays and explained in detail how it broke and what needed to be done to re-set the bone. He res-set it with my daughter sitting on my wife's lap which was not easy for anyone. He then applied a splint. Dr. Weiss then took another x-ray to show us exactly what resetting the bone had done. It was pretty comforting to see the difference he had made. Had we remained at Children's we most likely would have been there all day and probably would have ended up with pins in our daughters elbow. I have seen many orthopedic doctors over the years, but Dr. Weiss is truly one of the best orthopedists around. I've been coming to him since 2016 and he performed my left knee arthroscopy in 2017 to fix my meniscus. I've seen him numerous times since my surgery and he is always amazing. Just saw him again today to check out my ankle. One of the few doctors I enjoy seeing. He is brilliant, funny, kind and caring and exactly what you want in a doctor. I always refer people to him when they ask if I know any orthopedists. Not only is he great, but his staff is incredible as well. They have always treated me with kindness, they are very professional and they will get you in as soon as possible. Dr. Weiss and his entire staff go the extra mile for their patients. I cannot recommend Dr. Weiss and his office enough. The staff is friendly and thorough, and they went out of their way to answer all of my questions and put me at ease. They made me feel like part of their little family there, genuinely caring about my situation. They even laugh at my jokes (but I'm hilarious, so of course they do). Dr. Weiss himself is great. He's friendly and relaxed, and takes time to answer every question. He also makes great use of models and displays to show exactly what is going on and why, which is a huge help instead of just spouting medical jargon. I also see how he is with elderly patients and children, and they all love him. Top-notch dude. Their office feels very state-of-the-art, with iPad check-in paperwork and many separate exam rooms (less waiting- hooray). Came in with a boxer's fracture of my own doing and Dr Weiss took good care of making my hand heal back to normal. I was in a brace for one week and a cast for four. He specifically says a cast shouldnt be longer than 4 weeks so you can get the muscles back in order with PT. All the visits were very easy and Dr Weiss is probably the friendliest/coolest doctor I've ever worked with. He tells it like it is and he's very easy to ask any questions you may have. Meanwhile, the PT he recommended has been helpful and my follow up x-ray consultations have been highlights of my day before work. Unfortunately my experience with Dr. Weiss was less than amazing. I was in a very bad car accident and had no recommendations for a specialist. I relied solely on internet reviews. At the time I didn't know I needed a SPINE specialist, and not an orthopedic doctor. I was extremely physically fit so I assumed that a sports medicine doctor was the way to go. WRONG. My first visit was ok, although compassionate he seemed rather dismissive of me because of my injuries being car accident related, annoying. The second visit my physical therapist attended with me. He spent a lot of time with us, but he spoke mostly to her about me and not listening to me, annoying again. He completely minimized my very valid symptom complaints. He told me he didn't know why I was in so much pain and some things just couldn't be explained. I was so put off by his dismissive behavior I did not return. It took several months before I returned to an orthopedic surgeon, who eventually referred me to a real spine specialist. Fast forward nearly 1 year post my last encounter with Dr. Weiss, I met with a spine specialized neurosurgeon who explained to me exactly why I had the symptoms I had (major spinal cord compression, several herniated discs in both ends of my spine) and told me if I don't get surgery to correct the problem then I would get worse and worse. After several qualified opinions I had the first of my surgeries in April (3 level cervical artificial disc replacement). Dr. Weiss, perhaps you're good with broken legs or sprained ankles, but you realllllly delayed my healing process with your arrogance. If you don't know about spinal injuries don't waste your patients' time! Most things certainly CAN be explained. If you had known how to read the MRI like the Spine specialists do, you would have seen what they saw immediately and saved me more than a year of agony. Even I can plainly see where the injuries are, and I have never been to medical school! read more

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Weiss yesterday. My 12 year old daughter was having knee pain and I called his office to beg them to squeeze her in. She was an existing patient and had been to him six months prior with the same complaint, however my husband had taken her. It was the end of the day on a Friday, and he and his staff could not possibly have been more kind and gentle. My daughter had experienced severe pain and needed to have fluid drained from her knee. Dr. Weiss patiently explained the procedure, noting that at 12 she deserved to discuss the treatment options. Having been to many orthopedic doctors myself, I marveled at his bedside manner. She was scared and the very quick procedure included draining and a shot and she cried and he was so sweet to her. We have an expression in our house, "it's more scary than hurt-y" and he shared similar sentiments. I highly recommend this doctor and will likely start seeing him myself. read more

I was on vacation and the arch of my foot started hurting so much I thought I should have brought my insoles for my new boots. My the next morning I had to walk on the side of my foot because it hurt so much. I thought that maybe I had hit my foot and fractured it. That day we were on our way home and when we completed our 6 hour drive, I had to use crutches I had in my garage to walk. At that point breathing on my foot was so painful. Long story short, I had to go to the hospital and three thousand dollars later they diagnosed me with cellulitis. I went to my internist the next morning who said this could not be cellulitis and came back into the examining room telling me I had an appointment with Dr Weiss, a doctor I had never heard of, and I needed to get there right away. Even though I was a patient without an appointment, I didn't have to wait very long to be seem. Dr. Weiss new what was wrong even before he took an x-ray, but took it anyway just to confirm. I ended up having a calcium deposit on my tendon. I had to be brought into the office in a wheel chair and I left there walking (in a boot, but walking, nevertheless). Dr. Weiss's beside manner is friendly, warm and professional. You really feel like he is talking to you and taking an interest in you during your appointment, not like so many other doctors where you feel they are in a rush to get rid of you so they can see their next patient. I would recommend Dr. Weiss to everyone. read more

A belated review by nearly 5 years. My severe carpal tunnel in both wrists was nearly killing me with pain just after giving birth to twins. I found and called Dr. Weiss from my hospital bed and he made time that day and came to the hospital to give me a steroid shot in the wrists. That's literally and symbolically going the extra mile for a doctor. Andrew is amazing. I hurt my hip/ actually partially tore my glut muscle at family camp. Andrew helped me to access the injury and recommended that I rest and see if it healed with time. He did not try to oversell me on anything but was straight forward with great recommendations. Without violating my own HIPAA privacy I'll just say that I couldn't have been more pleased with this doctor. Education, patience and reassurance are the three least popular options in the medical field these days yet Dr. Weiss emphasized them all, took a conservative treatment approach and helped me circumvent getting a surgery on my hip that I didn't need. I am sincerely indebted to him for his excellent care and will recommend him in the highest of terms now that I have been his patient myself. My son dislocated and broke his finger while playing basketball. The ER doc popped it back in but it was crooked and my son was upset. Dr Weiss fixed the finger so now it's perfectly jn place and my son is happy. He healed and is playing basketball again. Dr. Weiss saw us again just to make sure it healed right. read more

I just want to say that Dr. Weiss saved my husbands life last week. We went to see him thinking he had hurt his leg somehow but Dr. Weiss was so thorough and spent so much time with him, got him x-rays and then sent him for a scan/ultrasound/MRI (one of those, I don't remember), suspecting that he had a blood clot, to properly identify what was going on. Dr. Weiss told us to go straight to the ER and to make sure we got in as quickly as possible. Not only did he have a blood clot in his leg, but it traveled to his lung and had become deadly. The fact that Dr. Weiss properly diagnosed him and made sure we moved quickly is why my husband is recovering nicely today. Dr. Weiss has been excellent to me. I had a bad sprain that had been missdiagnosed. He fit me and opened early so that he could see me. I heard him with a little boy in the room next door and his bedside manner was perfect. When he came to see me he was thorough and put me at ease instantly. I had to have a follow-up MRI and he promised he would call me when the results were in. He did just that and the next day left me a detailed VM with all my results after hours. I went to Dr. Andrew Weiss for a broken arm a few years ago. First impression of him was young and quick .....He recommended physiotherapy, which turned out I thought to be miraculous. Dr. W. said the sling had to come off soonest possible, which I was surprised to hear as other doctors seem to do differently, and I'm positive that this helped me get back to normal better and faster than if I hadn't done that. I was very happy with the result of going to him then. I recently had another condition and didn't hesitate in gong straight back to Dr. Weiss. I had a painful condition in my arm. He told me straight away what the problem was - Tennis Elbow- and suggested the usual best treatment for it. He gave me a cortisone injection, which seems to work for 4 out of 5 people but just didn't do it for me for some reason. A few weeks later I returned to him again telling him that it just didn't help. He showed care and concern was eager to do all that he could to help. He gave me a cream and a good quality arm brace etc - and didn't even charge me for it - just gave it from the goodness of his heart. It still unfortunately didn't resolve my pain completely and so a few weeks later once again I returned there. He was not all upset or impatient with me. Thank G-d he had enough humility to accept that he hadn't totally solved my problem (in getting rid of my pain) on the first visit (even though he knew what the problem was but just that treatment didn't do it for me). He had taken an xray - in his office - but nothing unusual was seen on it so he suggested for me to have an MRI - he truly wanted to get to the bottom of it - for my sake. He got his secretary to call for an appointment for me as I waited in their office. They fitted me in immediately. Took a few hours with travel and wait time etc but with the MRI results on CD I went straight back to Dr. Weiss' office who I was assured would see me straight away. He did, as soon as I arrived back at his office he took me in, he checked over the MRI CD, called to speak with their office to clarify some points and remained fast by his original prognosis - that it was still Tennis Elbow. He just wanted to know 100%. He laid infront of me all the options and I am in the process of making a decision which way to go now with those choices.. I have every confidence in Dr. Weiss - he is very knowledgeable, experienced, quick, caring, has humility - and very pleasant, and as seen in my recent case will investigate to get to the bottom of things if necessary. He will tell you quickly what he sees and the options. He is I believe what is called a Mentsch - a good caring man but also a great doctor/surgeon - he is also a young and upbeat family man. I also found all his office staff to be very pleasant and helpful. Just to use somebody else's review here below as it really sums up my feelings well.
