After a few visits to the Cedars Sinai Urgent Care, I decided it was time to find a new Primary Physician. The nurses and staff at the Urgent Care suggested Dr. Fitzgerald, and it was an absolutely amazing recommendation. I have never had a doctor care, or at least seem to care, so deeply for his or her patients. Dr. Fitzgerald remembers me each time I come in, which feels great given that he has so many patients. Rather than providing blanket solutions to my problems, Dr. Fitzgerald has always taken the time to understand my specific needs, it is extremely refreshing. What I like the most about Dr. Fitzgerald is that he seems to approach medicine and wellness holistically. He tries to understand your lifestyle, your history, your family's history, etc., and doesn't just hand over a prescription for a magical "cure all" drug. Overall, I have never had a doctor this good. Each visit to his office leaves me feeling accomplished, satisfied and at ease. I was in a desperate search for a Dr. in my area to help a friend. after seeing the reviews I was quick to call and make an appointment for my friend. This review is based on the service received from the receptionists working for Dr. Fitzgerald. My friend had been very ill for nearly three weeks. He doesn't have insurance but has the cash to cover any costs. The receptionist was completely dismissive as soon as she learned he didn't have insurance. I wonder if she was instructed to not accept anyone uninsured... appalling customer service. Never again. As we never met Dr. Chris I cannot speak to his personal service, which is the only reason why this review has 3 stars as to not hurt is Yelp score. I have had two doctors through my HMO. One was a Cedars doctor, the other was not. Both of them were horrible for very different reasons, but let's be honest, it's a pain in the ass to switch your primary care doc and I just let it fall to the wayside. I finally got up off my ass and switched a third time to Dr. Fitzgerald (based on the recommendation of another Yelper) and I am so glad I did. Apparently, the third time is the charm. The day after I switched, I called his office and was able to be seen two days later. They gave me instructions on where to park and were very friendly on the phone. When I arrived, I was immediately given paperwork, filled it out and told to sit down. I only had to wait another minute before I was seen by the nurse. I am used to waiting forever to be seen, so that was a pleasant surprise. Dr. Fitzgerald came in right after the nurse was done. He is friendly, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and seems to actually give a shit about you're well being. We discusses the reason I was there and he hooked me up with a referral straight away. He took the time to look through my files and ask me anything else that might be bothering me. We discussed and he hooked me up with another referral to attend to a long running issue I've had. He back into the files on their computer system and filled out all the info that I guess the previous doctors couldn't be bothered to ask. I feel very confident that we're going to get to the bottom of my ailments. Lastly, he talked me into getting my first flu shot; something I never thought I'd do. He took the time to explain his philosophy of wellness (and holistic medicine) and the history of why it's a good idea. In short, I trusted him. Cannot recommend Dr. Fitzgerald highly enough. I am a nurse practitioner. I found Dr. Fitzgerald on Yelp and was surprised that he has such a great review. I went to see him with my husband for his neck pain. Dr Fitzgerald was very thorough when he conducted a focused musculoskeletal physical exam on my husband. The physical exams are so easy to do but many doctor do not do it. He then came up with a very clear plan for my husband. Dr Fitzgerald also advocates preventative medicine. He will tell you to exercise, do yoga and relaxation, eat healthy...etc. We always arrive his office on time, and we never have to wait for more than 15 minutes to see Dr Fitzgerald. The staff are helpful, and we did not encounter any problems so far. The parking is in the same building and the parking ticket is validated so you don't have to pay for it. If you need a x ray or lab, they are all in the same building. He even recommended a pediatrician for our baby who will be born soon, and this pediatrician is absolutely wonderful just like him (in the same building also)! We are very happy with Dr Fitzgerald and feel very fortunate to have a PCP like him. Highly recommended! read more

Let me first start by saying... I don't trust doctors. When they know medicine, I'll trust them but I don't want them practicing on me.... having said that, Dr. Fitzgerald is probably the best doctor I've ever had... ever... EVER!!!!! I was impressed when he remembered who I was, let alone when he makes personal calls or emails to me to check in and see how my treatment is progressing. He truly cares and works hard even after your visit when he finds new articles or treatments that might work better for you. He spends time with you to see what's going on, not just what you came in for but also he's looking out for your overall well being. He doesn't just run in and run out... he really sits down and talks with you and works to understand the problem and this is what sets him apart from the vast majority of quacks that make up the rest of the medical community. The staff is very friendly and helpful and I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen when I show up for my scheduled appointment. This is a long overdue review for general blood work I did with Dr. Fitzgerald. Since it was not an emergency they gave me an app for almost 3 months later. And zero flexibility with day even with a very long notice. I had to take a day off from work and went there to make 9am appointment empty stomach. Dr. Fitzgerald showed up at 10:15 !!!! I was literally about to faint since i hadn't eaten for so long. He did spend a good amount of time to go over all details with me and had a good bedside manner , but I felt extremely disappointment. Long story short, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and just uncomfortable and often in pain. Although Prenatal care is NOT Dr. Fitzgerald area of expertise- he has gone far and beyond to see that he can remedy as much as possible within his realm. Dr. Fitzgerald and the entire office staff are amazing! I was looking for a new PCP and after tons of research I finally found a doctor with excellent reviews, great location, associated with Cedars AND he accepts my insurance. We got our physical done with my husband this week and Dr. Fitzgerald was SO nice, thorough, knowledgable and seemed like he really does care about our concerns unlike most of the doctors. He didn't make us feel rushed at all, we each spent about an hour with him. He has great bedside manners! We got set up with the MyCS Link and the App and we got our test results emailed us in couple of days with the doctor's notes and suggestions and he personally called my husband because he had some irregular results. I thought it was very thoughtful of him. The nurse who took our blood tests was super nice too and considerate of my latex allergy. Waiting time was zero (great front office staff!), we both got called in at the exact time our appointments were and we didn't have to sit in the exam room to wait for the doctor for half an hour like any other places, he was there in just couple of minutes. After a year and a half and several Dr.'s appoinments with Chris I have had to change my review to one star. Every visit after the first has been a disappointment. The talk was great on the first visit but that's it. Every follow up from Dr.'s meetings looked like they were written with insulting copy and paste lines that were even at times double copied onto pages and the "personal" messages were inaccurate in almost every way. For example my health, diet, appointment follow through, future planning, all are off like I keep getting a strangers paperwork with my name on it. The office is money greedy and will not work with you if there is ever a mistake. He is admittedly overloaded with patients as most of my previous Dr's have been but to my disappointment I will be changing doctors. read more

An excellent primary physician. He's methodical, efficient and takes the time to understand and check. Most importantly he sets a plan of action and strategy to uncover what's wrong and how to best take care of it. He's also accessible (which is rare for doctors nowadays) in urgent or emergency situations, and will take the time to call back his patients quickly. A good doctor is definitely hard to find. I decided to switch from my previous doctor because it was almost impossible to get an appointment with him for anything let alone something serious. After researching and asking around I decided to give Dr. Fitzgerald a try, based on the positive reviews here on Yelp. I'm so glad I took that leap of faith. Dr. Fitzgerald was very thorough and went through my basic health history and asked about my family history, which no doctor has ever proactively done. He took his time and I didn't feel rushed. He also offered multiple ways for me to contact him and signed me up for my medical group's phone app, in which I could also use to contact him and check test results. My other doctors seem to hide begin their secretaries and would never be available. He also made it easy for me to be honest with him about my health history and other recreational activities. The only reason for my first visit was to fill my prescription, but I left his office feeling WAY more accomplished and even had my first physical scheduled. Dr. Fitzgerald is awesome! He inspired me to take control of my health. After being diagnosed with diabetes it changed my entire outlook of my life and he made it very clear what my options were. Since that first first appointment, I have changed my diet, started working out and shed lots of pounds. My test results are showing my diabetes has now been reversed! Can't say enough about this doctor. I had gone to previous doctors who didn't take me seriously about my stomach problems. One doctor even made it sound like it was "all in my head", but Dr Fitzgerald sent me to a specialist and they figured out what I had and even put on sick leave.
