Very poor customer service. The reason I walked in following another appt at pih is because orthopedics never answers their phones. This guy told on his own words to hire an attorney and seek treatment elsewhere because my pain MAY be the result of auto accident. Their loss. I will find another doctor and let ppo ins know I was refused care here.

I had torn meniscus on both sides of my left knee, which eventually was repaired by Dr. McShane via arthroscopy. I can still do 9-mile hikes so I'd say the surgery was a success. One of the things I really like about Dr. McShane is that you never feel rushed when you meet with her. Appointments are easy to make, but plan on spending at least 45 minutes there, especially if you must have x-rays before your exam. Another plus is that if she can't fix your problem, she will refer you to another top of the line neurosurgeon.

Unlike other doctors I have been to, he doesn't just throw out a suggestion of a surgical procedure or assume anything about my condition. He patiently answered all of my questions and reassured me that we were making the right decision. Rarely has a doctor made me feel both comfortable in his presence and confident in his diagnosis.

The worst. The literal WORST…read more I'll be filing a complaint with the state as well as the insurance company. Do not see this doctor for anything if you want to get back to your optimal physical condition. If you are under 75 years old, this place is not for you. We've been with PIH for decades and in the past 5 years, it's become deplorable. The visit with this doctor was so alarming and ridiculous that I immediately canceled my association with the medical group as a whole, my insurance company United Health got my injured daughter urgent admission into the Memorial Care group and it's been like night and day. MC is how PIH USED to be. I canceled my entire family's decades-long association with PIH primarily due to the rotten cherry-on-top utterly deplorable and disappointing visit with Chou. I really can't even refer to him as "Dr" because he certainly did not conduct himself thusly. Do not go to this Dr. Perhaps he was good and attentive at one time, those days are no longer.

Everyone in this office is super sweet and accommodating. Dr. Swanson, the orthopedic surgeon, is really knowledgeable and is really good at what he does. Just keep in mind when making your appointment that the Orthopedic doctor can get really backed up so there is always an option to see the physician's assistant if you're in a rush.
