Dr. Forghani took the time to answer all of my questions and talked me through all the pros and cons of doing it now vs. waiting. I've never had a dentist (yet alone any doctor) spend that much time with me prior to a procedure, and I felt so much more calm because I trusted him. The procedure itself was relatively quick and the only painful part was really the numbing shots on both sides. After he thoroughly removed the dead nerves, my tooth already started to come back to its normal color and with a bit of bleaching, it almost looks normal now. She was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I explained that I wanted a consultation with Dr. Sara Kim to have several teeth evaluated because I was experiencing sensitivity. I told her that I have Blue Cross Blue Shield FEP Dental PPO and that I found Dr. Kim listed in my insurance directory as a preferred provider. Kelsey was familiar with FEP and told me she would call me back to schedule. She did call me back that same day, but unfortunately I was on the train and couldn't answer. She left me a message. When I called back the next day, Kelsey wasn't available, and that's when the experience became very frustrating. I spoke with several different staff members, was repeatedly placed on hold for long periods, and had to call back multiple times. Eventually, someone asked for my insurance information and told me they needed to verify whether the office accepted my plan. I called again the following day and was told they had been too busy to verify my insurance. I was then asked to text pictures of my insurance information, which I did. On September 4, I finally received another call, but I was told they still couldn't verify my insurance and was asked again for information I had already provided. At that point, after several days of calling and waiting just to schedule a consultation, I told them to forget about the appointment. I specifically wanted to see Dr. Kim because of her excellent reviews, and she was listed as a preferred provider in my BCBS FEP Dental directory. Unfortunately, I never even got the opportunity to see her because of the scheduling and insurance-verification process. I want to be clear that this review is not about Dr. Kim's care because I never saw her. Kelsey was excellent and deserves recognition. My disappointment is with the rest of the scheduling experience. It should not take several days, repeated phone calls, long holds, and multiple requests for the same insurance information simply to schedule a consultation.

My dentist told me, unequivocally, that I should see Dr. Bui and she called his office to arrange an appointment as soon as possible. I have some major surgeries coming up and I need my teeth to be healthy for intubation, to eliminate infection risk, etc. At 9am the next morning I was in his office. Rayza was at the front desk. Such a sweet, professional, incredibly kind and patient woman. Of course I was terrified, and she put me at ease right away. Thank you Rayza! I was shown to the procedure room and met Nichelle and Dr Bui. Nichelle wiped the tears of fear I had running down my cheek before they got started working on me. I had no idea what it would feel like, and my gosh I was scared. Quickly I discovered there would be no barbaric pain, no pain at all. In fact, Dr Bui took exceptional care in administering numbing gel, and allowing it time to do it's thing, before numbing the entire area by injection, which didn't hurt at all. He even made sure that I was numb enough by placing something cold on the tooth to check. I did feel something and he gave me a numbing injection at the roof of my mouth to take care of that. The point is, he makes sure you are comfortable and won't experience any pain. I felt the movement of the files in my mouth and was blown away by how patient Dr. Bui was with each root in the tooth. There are usually three roots, but with his 3D Panoramic Scanner he discovered a 4th root in this one tooth, and went in to complete that one too. Thorough. And the precision? Outstanding hands. I can only imagine all the training and years it took to get as good at this as he is. Thank you Dr. Bui. One last Big Thank you to Nichelle. May the world show you the kindness you showed me. Her practice also utilizes the latest and greatest in CT scanning technology which allowed her to see exactly where and how big the problem was and how to best approach correcting it. I've had the unfortunate experience of requiring a bit of dental work in my time and I can confidently say that when it came time to undergo the procedure Dr. Han gave the most painless experience I've ever had. One of the numbing injections she had to give was in the hard palate which is normally very painful but she has a method that really minimizes the discomfort. After the injections I didn't feel a thing for the rest of the procedure. Add to that short wait times and a friendly staff and you really couldn't ask for more from a dental office.
