Worst root canal ever. They caused more pain than I had to start with. When I went back for emergency up, they took more X-rays and saw problems that weren't addressed. I remember the look that the endo at the practice gave me. He was basically wide eyed and subtly shaking his head. I knew there was a problem, but he wouldn't tell me what was wrong. He advised only that I make that me an appt with my orig. endo at City Endo to review them. I never bothered. Recently after experiencing more pain than I could stand, I went to another practice altogether. I decided to remove the tooth. It was a 2 hr surgery. During that time, they said prev endo didn't put a pin in the tooth. This led to the tooth becoming brittle and crazy difficult to remove (2 hour surgery)). The fact that they found another root made things more difficult and painful. And truly baffling that City Endo missed it! Also, the tooth had fused to the jawbone. It's now 6 days after tooth removal, I'm on a second round of antibiotics, the pain is excruciating . All of this would have been avoided if City Endo had done the root canal correctly. read more

I thought City Endodontics gave us a good experience. My partner was referred here by our dentist when he needed a root canal. The office staff were great and offered us water instantly, and honestly the office was very relaxing. I imagine that when you come here, you're here for a pretty stressful reason, but the office did a good job of bringing those stress levels down. The root canal was done and there were no issues with it. From what I heard, they did a good job to accommodate my partner and the difficulties he was having with the procedure. This was an amazing office. I was traveling for work and having horrible pain from a molar I knew needed a root canal. I reached out to Dr Marcus Johnson and the office staff was amazing and they fit me in the next day. The office is in an old bldg which I liked because it had charm. The office was clean and the dr was amazing. He kept me very calm. When he gave me the Novocain shots prior it didn't even hurt. The reviews don't lie. My experience here was just as excellent as all of the reviews describe. After noticing some discoloring during my routine dental cleaning, my primary dentist suggested calling City Endodontics for a quick consult. They were able to squeeze me in during the same week for x-rays that quickly revealed decaying tooth pulp. Yikes. Dr. Weldon suggested a 360 x-ray to see if they'd be able to salvage my tooth. Since it wasn't pain that drove me to their office, we decided to wait on same-day surgery. If you can, I highly recommend this for those with Guardian dental insurance. It took three weeks for Guardian to get back to them with pre-determination. By doing this, we were able to avoid any awkward insurance hiccups and ensure I was charged in-network rates. Shout out to Kim who kept following up with Guardian and put up with my weekly check-in calls. The root canal procedure went unbelievably smoothly. Dr. Weldon talked me through the whole process and eased all my worry since this was my first root canal. Her process was quick, painless, and all in all, took less than 2 hours between two appointments. I honestly can't recommend Dr. Weldon and City Endodontics enough! read more

By far, the best oral care experience I have ever had! Dr. Johnson is PURE GOLD! If any of my friends or family go anywhere else after talking with me, I will downright be mad at them! I went in for a root canal, which has the reputation of being one of the most painful experiences you can have. But I literally dozed off a couple of times during the process! 5 Stars Hands Down Dr. Marcus and his staff Kim and Yan made my experience of getting a root canal so amazing that when it was all said and done I was truly sad to know that I would not be coming back again. I had to give them a huge hug. Here is the reasons I recommend them: 1. Pain free: I had to fix an infected root canal that I had done 10 years ago, and had to come in a few weeks later to complete the procedure. I was extremely nervous but after my first injection not hurting I felt I could trust Dr. Marcus to keep me pain free, and I was right. 2. I was having major tooth pain in the middle of this pandemic, and NY City Endodontics was one of the only offices still seeing patients. I went in to adjust my bite, but found out that I had some other issues, and need a root canal. Dr. Marcus Johnson was kind, patient, and incredibly professional. I was so scared of this procedure, but he kept me calm and talked me through it. Since then, my regular dentist even said that it was a beautifully done root canal. I am very happy with his service, their availability, and the dedication to taking care of patients even in the middle of a global pandemic. I highly advice people to go to an Endodontic specialists for their root canals and not to general dentists. I especially recommend everyone to visit this specific clinic, they have modernistic equipments and are skilled to do such procedure. The staff are very friendly; namely Ms. Lily and Ms. Kim. IMPORTANT INSURANCE INFORMATION Received a quick root canal procedure from Dr.Johnson, he was absolutely great. Great at communicating with you regarding the procedure and what to expect. Great during the treatment and checking up on you. The office followed up the day after my appointment. All in all, I would recommend this doctor to others. My complaint, however, is the way the insurance was handled by the office, see below. I called before scheduling my appointment and asked to have an appointment with Dr.Johnson and also if they are IN NETWORK with my insurance, to which they said Yes, THE OFFICE is in network with your insurance. I said great let's schedule an appointment. After getting to my appointment and was shown the price of my out of pocket amount, I couldn't believe it. It was way HIGHER than normal for IN NETWORK pricing. I didn't really have too many options then and accepted it and we got the procedure done. Again, the procedure went smoothly and Dr. Johnson was great. I call my insurance company a few days later and ask them if the office and doctors are IN NETWORK to which they respond that the OFFICE IS IN NETWORK BUT NOT THE SPECIFIC DOCTOR I MENTIONED. So, I finally understood what happened. The office failed to mention in my initial phone call that the doctor I was seeing (Dr.Johnson) was out of network and the out of network price is what i paid. I thought it was misleading when the front office says they are in network but in reality the doctor you are scheduled to see is out of network. They should tell people that on the phone before the appointment, could have saved me hundreds of dollars. This is not like a hospital where there are various specialists that could potentially not be in network with the insurance. This is just one specialty office, Endodontics, so I would think it would be good practice to tell people who ask. For future patients, ask if the specific doctor you are seeing is in network with your insurance if this applies to you. read more

This is my second root canal that I've had performed by the truly fantastic and talented Dr. Weldon. I didn't feel pain at any moment. Dr. Weldon made me feel comfortable and heard, it actually was kind of nice being there. After having the root canal done my regular dentist told me the doctor who had done the work had done a great job and had preserved more tooth than expected. I don't wish anyone to need a root canal done, but if you have to go through it, go to City Endodontics and ask for Dr. Weldon!
