Wow. Talk about integrity. I just had my first appointment with Dr. John Andrus, Functional Neurologist. After a full assessment he said that while it's clear I have dystonia, it's caused by toxicity, not structural stressors. He recommended that I work hard to follow the Natropathic doctor's detox treatment. He said that while he's fascinated with my case, he can offer very little to support detox and encouraged me to work closely with my doctor to detox. He refused to charge me the assessment intake fee and invited me to simply check-in down the line because he's interested to see how things work out. In a world where many medical providers provide "ongoing care" simply because they know the person is desperate for help and willing to pay, Dr. Andrus just gave me a renewed hope that there are doctors who are willing to admit that they are better suited to treat other issues. It's always enjoyable to go to an office with as much positive energy as his exudes, and to a Chiropractor with such sincere concern; but besides all the "feel-good" we always look for, I have found him to be truly brilliant in his field. I first saw Dr. Andrus for wrist pain that had persisted more than a year beyond the initial injury. Seeing him over the next few weeks to correct the alignment in my wrist and arm completely relieved the pain and it has not returned even once in the four years since. While conducting a more thorough exam Dr Andrus discovered a bone mis-aligned in my foot that would have been attributable to a soccer injury more than 20 years ago. Dr. Lan Moro has been my chiropractor as well as my fiance's for many years now. I'm a hairdresser so my alignment is not always in good shape but Dr. Moro adjusts that when I can make it to see her. I have only had good experiences with Andrus Chiropractic Group. A couple years ago I got a pinched nerve in my neck. The pain was so unbearable that I was physically incapable of sitting up in bed. I went to the ER, saw an orthopedist, tried acupuncture, and every other possible method to reduce my debilitating pain. While everything I tried felt like a dead end, my chiropractic appointments with Dr. Andrus were the only things that brought me relief. My neck was so stiff I could hardly turn it left or right, but Dr. Andrus was able to crack my neck and remove the tension that was on the pinched nerve. No joke- this man can turn your spine into a xylophone, and cracks vertebras with such precision, you'll be blown away. Each time I went back I regained a little bit of motion in my neck, until finally I felt normal again.
