Coworker just brought these into the office recently and they were a hit! I had the maple walnut and boston cream even though I had planned on a healthy breakfast sandwich...but sometimes sweet things derail the best intentions! What a pleasant surprise to find this awesome bakery shop in Huntersville. My daughter and I were in the area and she looked for a place that had sweets. I've been in this area many times over the years but had no idea this was here. We went inside and it has such neat places to sit at tables or on couches. The bakery item selections are plentiful. I had a very hard time making selections because of so many that I wanted to take home. Of the ones we bought: lemon filled doughnut, Boston cream doughnut, cream cheese pastry, cream cheese and chocolate chip pastry, iced cookie, and eclair, I have to say that the Bavarian cream filled chocolate covered doughnut was amazing. But..... the eclair was heaven - my lord, it's a large as the big end of a baseball bat and as long as nearly a foot long hotdog. The cream filling is perfect and the chocolate topping is spot on as well. I'll be back for more of that! I saw over half a dozen things I NEEDED in my life but didn't get. So I have to go back. Two that stood out were the cheesecake and the chocolate dipped cheesecake (see the pictures and say wow with me!) Not only are they AH MAY ZING but their items are so beautifully decorated!!! I'm a "bake from scratch" person and can tell quality ingredients, the proof is in the final product. Every single item I've tried is incredible. The inside is bright and clean. The staff is pleasant and friendly. They are so accommodating. My husband and I have ordered breakfast treats and desserts from The Bakery Shoppe several times now, and we haven't found anything yet that we didn't like yet. I prefer to go on Saturday mornings, and pick up enough treats for the weekend. along with desserts for the early part of the week. Their cream cheese-chocolate danishes are huge and full of cream cheese. Their filled doughnuts (cream and berry) are always a hit with my husband. And their apple fritters are moist and gooey. We've also tried their peanut butter-chocolate chip cookies, plain chocolate chip cookies, and their chocolate frosted cookies (I cannot remember the name, but they are hugely popular). Their peanut butter-chocolate chips are my favorite, and they usually stay fresh for a few days. I also have to mention their lattes, which are hands down, better than any other local coffee shop. We usually get one with almond milk and one with whole milk--both with extra shots--and they are just perfect. Service is always quick and friendly, too. We love this place! read more

I've been to this beautiful bakery a few times and they always have a nice selection of treats to select from, even when I arrive later in the day. The workers were all wearing masks and gloves and everything appeared spotless. The tres leches cake was so good! They only had one left at this late hour and I snagged it. I only got one bite in this household of teens, but it was enough to let me know it was some of the best I've had. The doughnut was a little close to being stale, which is understandable given my late arrival. It was still very much fine, but not "hot and now" and soft. I'd skip that next visit. The brownie was moist and dense with a deep chocolate flavor and delicious nutty relief from the walnuts. My favorite treat for the day was a crescent nut cookie, reminding me of a Mexican wedding cookie, but with granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar. I meant to only take a bite, but ended up going back all night and eating the whole darn thing! They also serve coffee to eat with your baked goodies. I recently had a gender reveal cake made Easter weekend and they did a phenomenal job! Loretta was so kind and helpful to me over the phone in choosing cake flavors. We ended up going with the Chocolate Cookie cake which was not only beautifully decorated but delicious! In my opinion, a great donut is hard to come by in the Huntersville area. When I realized that The Bakery Shoppe sold donuts, we stopped by to see what they had. We were there in the late afternoon so there weren't too many to choose from. I chose the glazed with the white icing. It was delicious and fresh even though it had been made in the morning. We asked about the apple fritters and the cinnamon rolls. We were told that they sell out early but we could pre-order them and pick them up in the morning. So, we pre-ordered them and picked them up the following morning. We had high hopes because the glazed donut was so good. The apple fritter was different than what I'm used to. It seemed like a baked pastry rather than the fried apple fritter that I'm used to. It was good just different. My husband didn't care for the cinnamon roll. He thought it wasn't as fresh as it should have been and he wished it had some icing on it. I would like to try the cake slices next time and maybe some pie. read more

Stopped in to treat me to a treat after winning at the DMV. Was looking at a danish for me at $3 but opted instead for a massive danish for everyone for $12 instead (plus a peachy muffiny treat.) Muffin top of coarse sugar crisped to way-goodness protecting soft moist fruity muffin middled was most enjoyable. I especially like that the top came apart in bite-able sized pieces of both crust and cake. The raspberry-cheese-blueberry behemoth played well to a hungry crowd and didn't quite make it to lunch. I am fairly certain that it started out as a normal coffee cake that got dosed with small buckets of raspberry-, cheesey-, and blueberry goodness. Found this place after asking my coffee shop where they got their wonderful pastries. I am absolutely certain this is the best bakery in North Carolina. The sticky buns and cinnamon rolls are great! The brownies are soft and fudgy unlike the hard chewy brownies you find elsewhere. Bear claws are enormous with tons of almond paste. The best thing is that they have a microwave in the seating area so you can warm your sticky bun before you leave. You will not regret going here. Meh, I had high hopes for this bakery based on the reviews but sadly I've been let down by my fellow yelpers. It's somewhat hidden in a small plaza where Showmars is located and you can easily drive by it as they don't have any visible advertisement. The bakery is very cluttered with old furniture, looks like an old folks home. Their pastries looked good and I went ahead and ordered a 1/2 dozen donuts in which I would throw 4 of them away. The donuts look MUCH better than they taste. They're not soft and are very heavy. I felt like I was eating bread! I love donuts. Like donuts could be my best friend. There is just something so delicious and tantalizing about a perfect donut. These donuts are out of bounds.
