    Andy's Shore Bar, Highlands, NJ.

The family that owns Andy's have been here for 50+ years and the bar is definitely a time warp. Reasonable prices for drinks. Worth a stop on any Highlands pub crawl.

Andy's sure ticks the dive bar boxes, one after another. Cheap, dark, cold. What more would you like?

Caught immediately after shedding, the entire crab can be eaten...shell and all. They offer an intensely sweet, rich flavor and a delicate, crispy texture when cooked). Bahr's Landing prepares this sautéed crab with capers, mushrooms, lemon & butter, mashed potatoes and vegetables. My go-to appetizer is always the Grilled Cauliflower (Topped with tomato pesto, quinoa, and wild rice blend). The crispness of the cauliflower....brushed through the surrounding ingredients.....makes this the perfect starter. Aside from enjoying the mouth-watering food, you'll also feel as if you're dining on a ship, have great views of the pier, water, and the bridge leading into Sandy Hook Beach. Don't forget to visit their gift shop and view all of the maritime decor and beautiful woodwork.

We ordered clams casino which were meh, lobster bisque had no lobster and was over salted. I ordered scallops, shrimp and crab over risotto. The risotto was so cheese it was just pure salt, shrimp was way overcooked and over seasoned. Crab meat was shredded, no lump. No flavor. My partner had the Captains dish, lobster tails were again over seasoned. His shrimp was ok. Safe your money and go somewhere else.

I did order a pina colada and it was delicious and you are allowed to bring your own food and snacks so definitely do that. We drove and were able to park in the lot. The lot was way more crowded than the sand was, strangely. I thought there would be way more people but it was pretty light. Lots of families so definitely family friendly. They have chairs that many people were taking and sitting on in the water. Lots of picnic tables and areas to sit at. The water is really calm. It's a bay. So you can walk pretty far out and won't be knocked over by any waves. People were playing catch and just having a great time playing in the calm and cool water. It was fun. It wasn't a bad drive from New York so I'd recommend driving if you got the time.

Finally made it to Saltwater Social and we will definitely be going back!…read more We loved everything. We had the Peach Tea Bourbon, pork belly Bao Buns, twice fried wings, meatball pizza & the Pork schnitzel with the fresh cabbage slaw . It was all so good! While we definitely enjoyed the food we really appreciated the friendliness of the staff just as much. We eat out a lot & many places have good food but what stands out & makes us want to return is when the staff goes out of their way to connect with the guests and they definitely do that here !

It was early Sunday night and the bar was full but the dining area wasn't so we stayed in the bar. Service was excellent, the bartender came around and made sure we were comfortable, handed us menus and brought water. She told us the specials and shortly after our server came by. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of seafood on the menu. My picky girlfriend would have enjoyed some flounder or scallops but they only had a seared salmon and blacked shrimp. The Mrs. Got a burger and it was adequate, nothing to write home about. I got the chicken parm and it was ample and terrific. The tomato sauce was stellar! Sadly I wanted the scallops with risotto. This place has potential, the service is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, plus I know the chef has the chops from visiting his last place, the red store in Navasink. We'll be back but I'll be sure to check for seafood offerings before I go.

We ordered the fish tacos, birria tacos, and kettle-style potato chips--and every plate came out looking as good as it tasted. The fish tacos were beautifully assembled, piled high with crisp, fresh slaw that added the perfect crunch to the tender, flaky fish underneath. Light, clean, and balanced. The birria tacos were the star of the table. Rich, deeply seasoned meat tucked into perfectly griddled shells, served with a savory dipping broth that takes each bite to another level. Messy in the best way possible--and completely worth it. Even the kettle-style potato chips stood out. Thick-cut, golden, and topped with just the right amount of flavor to make them more than just a side--they held their own next to the tacos. The overall experience ties everything together: polished yet relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, and dishes that clearly have intention behind them. It's the kind of place where you can tell care is put into both the food and the experience. Atlantic House isn't just a good meal--it's a spot you'll want to come back to, and one I'd recommend without hesitation.

We started off with the nachos as an appetizer, and then I got the sun burnt pasta for my main, with a side of mixed veggies. The menu and specials change depending on the season, and I always love trying something different. During the holidays, they also have Christmas decorations, which makes the atmosphere feel all the more fun and festive. Food portions are generously sized, and I've always been satisfied with my meal. If you love lobster, the lobster bisque is super rich but a delicious starter with large chunks of lobster in it. The crab dip (seasonal item) is phenomenal - definitely great for sharing. My husband likes their fried flounder platter, which is like fish & chips but with an impressively large breaded flounder. Again, everything we've tried here has been good. The bar is also popular here and always fills up. Would love to come back in the summertime around sunset - it would be a beautiful spot!
