I stopped by this Tiki Bar location, on Saturday afternoon, during memorial day weekend 2019. This seemed like a nice little spot to have some drinks. There was a nice breeze, live music playing, and a good group a people surrounding the area. I just went with having some beers, but their drink menu seemed cool, with their selections of mixed drinks, sangria deals, and bucket drinks. I enjoy beers in the daytime, on the weekends, so having some beers while around the beach front atmosphere is a perfect afternoon for me. This place is pretty cheap for the area too, as it is only $5 to $6 for a beer. The atmosphere is what makes this place so special, as you are literally having a drinks and viewing the beach and ocean background at the same time. Long Branch is a great spot to spend a weekend afternoon during the spring and summer months! read more

This is a hidden gem behind the Beachwalk Motel (formerly Fairbanks). They have a great outdoor deck that overlooks the Navisink and Shrewsbury rivers. Friday and Saturdays in the summer they have bands. We were there when Strictly 60s played and thought they were great. We ordered the Tuna Bites as an app and they were awesome. Perfectly cooked and portioned for about $8. The husband had a Turkey burger with chips, good and juicy for $8 and I had a BLT also with chips. $4 bud light limes and a $8 Long Island Ice Tea made this a great stop on the way home. My family has been coming to eat here for years. We loved the spot as a dock and dine. The sunset view was nice. The food and drinks used to be good and the service was just fine. Today, we were appalled by the service we received, the cold and messy food, and most importantly the staff's behavior. We are not sure if this man was the manager, but he lost his temper over a wrong food order being delivered and cursed and hit something out of anger just a few feet away from our 4 year old grandson and sleeping newborn baby. There were many upset families over this sight and without so much of an acknowledgment of his behavior, we are never returning. read more

Great place to go if you like cold food and poor customer service! We were so excited to check out this bar. Unfortunately it didn't live up to any expectations. Took awhile to get helped despite being not at full capacity on a holiday weekend and with plenty of staff. As we were deciding on what to get, we observed the table next to us had an issue with their food. I'm not sure what exactly happened but the waitress said, verbatim, "are you serious? That's disgusting, I'm so sorry," so I can imagine it was pretty bad. I thought this was a bad sign but we were hungry so we persevered. Ordered an app to share and it took awhile to come out. I hoped this meant it was being made fresh. Our food was refrigerator-level-cold when it came out and we ordered a hot food. No one came by us for awhile. When someone finally did I asked if the food was supposed to be cold because it was. She took our plate (not our waiter, he hadn't come by in a long time). A few min later she came back w a new plate. I was pretty grossed out about eating something that probably wasn't fresh or sanitary to eat so I asked it just be taken off our bill and that we didn't want it. I was rudely told that I "should've just said that before because the kitchen already redid it" (paraphrasing but that was the gist with a rude tone). Oh.... Sorry for not wanting food at your establishment that stinks at making food. Honestly I didn't even know what was going to happen after she took our plate, so the interaction was overall a surprise. All of my encounters here left a bad taste in my mouth. If anyone came to our table to ask us how we were doing *period* or to apologize for serving cold food for $20/plate then I wouldn't be writing this review. But we all work way too hard to spend our $ where it isn't valued. Skip this place on your tour of waterfront venues in Monmouth country. Drinks were good and music was amazing but you can get that anywhere else in sea bright and the highlands with actually good and reputable service. Edited to add: the AC was also leaking from the roof basically the whole time. As they were trying to fix this the people who worked there said "usually it leaks from a different spot, not here." Good spot only if you like a good view. I was there for an hour and was only able to order one drink. The live music was nice but I could not enjoy my time due to the fact that it took over 20 minutes to even get my drink order in. After I ordered I did not see my server again until the bar closed. There were at most 50 people at tables and at least 4 servers I have never seen such slow service in my life. I would not recommend coming here if you are trying to grab a bite or a drink. Setting is great, but I guess by the mapped location, anyone would assume that. The food was good. I only ordered fish tacos. Beer battered cod with pico de gallo (seasoned chopped tomatoes and cilantro) and red cabbage. I happen to like red cabbage so it was cool. Some people find it bitter. There were 3 tacos for $9.95- one more than a local Mexican place I go to eat the same thing. The fish did not taste greasy, and the outside was crisp. The tacos were made with flour tortillas. The rum punch was $9! Oh my gosh. But it was good. I'll suggest this on date night. Although- on second thought- I'll have to say date afternoon. When I got here there were 2 open tables, understanding that I was a party of one, the hostess said over an hour for a table. I guess she didn't want me taking up space. It's okay, I understand I guess. Although there were people (two parties of 3, that walked in off the street, past the hostess, and sat right down) in retrospect, I'll ignore her too I guess. Beautiful setting, but the owner, Kevin, is extremely bias and rude. We stayed 2 nights. At first look the motel and owner seemed nice. Then the owner noticed us taking surf boards out of our car and turned into a rude aggressive bias person. While unloading the car we could hear him talking to an employee and looking at us snickering. My wife was extremely upset. He called us "kooks' and "Benies"?! Once in the room I was disappointed to find hair in the folded towels. When i approached the owner to point this out, he was very aggressive stating that is was impossible that the towels had hair on them. The views were beautiful and the beach awesome, but I would strongly recommend not spending your money in this establishment. Especially if your from out of town , they do not respect you read more

Beautiful setting, but it was overwhelmed by the mediocre food and abysmal service. Several in my party were finished with their meals before others' appetizers arrived. There was not enough wait staff to service the crowd on a Thursday night with only 1/2 of the tables occupied. The kitchen was small and hopelessly overwhelmed. After the sun set, there was no light in the Tiki Bar- none. We couldn't see our food or drink. Finally the server brought a fluorescent lamp that one would find in a camper's tent. The white fluorescent was overwhelming and destroyed the Tiki ambience. I'm unlikely to ever return. Too bad, because the potential, if run properly, is huge. read more

This is truly a hidden gem on the Jersey Shore! My wedding guests stayed at the Beachwalk and we had our after party at the Tiki Bar. LB, the manager, was so much fun to work with, and beyond accommodating. My family is still talking about the tiki bar and the after party (and the wedding too!). The food at the tiki bar is great, service is excellent, and the vibe is just so much fun! I don't want to tell people about it, because I want to keep it for myself, but they were just took good. Ate breakfast here one morning while staying at the hotel. It was beautiful looking over the Navesink in the morning. A great way to start the day. The service was slow, however there was only one person working. Not a big deal, as we were in no rush. The portions were just the right size, upon first getting our meals it was surprising, due to many breakfast places to jam the plates. That is certainly not the case here, you get just a little amount of everything to leave you feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Very low key, as there were plastic plates and silverware. This could have been a great review. We got some beers, we were waiting to be seated. I specifically asked for a table by the water. It wasn't this amazing feat, since it wasn't that packed and we were next on the list. Our estimated time to be seated was 15-20 min. No problem! Tables open up everywhere on the deck near to the water, we don't make a fuss because we're enjoying our beers and these tables aren't right next to water. Within 30 min, a table by the water opens up. Great, here we go! Nope. Ten minutes goes by and 4 people pull chairs from the bar and squeeze into the very little space by the table that should have been ours. When I approached the hostesses she said "oh ok, you can sit there now" and starts pulling the table away from the water front. I was pissed. I said, "We specifically wanted the table by the water." She accommodated these people who JUST WALKED IN AND GRABBED CHAIRS FROM THE INSIDE BAR! She then moved the table back toward the water, but a few inches, again, accommodating these other people to allow them to have their pub chairs at the water. I said, "No, we are leaving." The hotel where the tiki bar is located is super cute, but man do they need to find a new tenant/manager for the tiki bar. Tiki bar gets 0 stars. Day 1: 6/06/2014 Sadly, After 20 minutes of casual bout of waiving of arms, strong eye contact , nor calling of any 1 of the waitress worked for placing an order... 2 of them were somewhat busy ( with their 2 tables) but the 3rd Blatantly took other clients ahead of me... I was one of 3 people there. When another guest asked a question to her all she could say was... " I don't know.. The hotel has nothing to do with me.." Ummm yeah it brings customers to your bar. Eventually by 8pm I tried to get some food again... An hour later (after 9 pm) the tiki burger was semi warm and had a Cajun spice to it. My traveling companions said that they had pretty decent poolside service during the afternoon. But this experience spoiled everyone's impression of the place. Day 2: 6/07/2014 Decided to give this place another chance. Big mistake. Sat down to order lunch at 1:30pm. Was told the kitchen was backed up and not taking orders for 1/2 hr. The waitress elaborated to say the kitchen was only the size of my table and it couldn't be helped. Three waitresses and 18 tables ( not all full) ...
