Rent was DUE for whoever the DJ was at this bar on Saturday June 28th. Beautiful weather, a strawberry margarita, and banger after banger after banger coming from the DJ booth. Asbury Park is a queer enclave and Beach Bar is an enclave within the enclave. AKA I had the best time and the vibes were high. Prices here are also really high for bottled margarita mix and flavor mixes that one could grab at the liquor store for $6. Bar staff was really kind, but the prices and the bathroom situation are reason enough to dock a star. They will have two rotating frozen drinks and then a full bar of other fun options. Overall a really fun vibe and SO glad we had the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful day here with views of the beach. read more

We found this bar at the most perfect time because it was a bit drizzly. They had a DJ that played all the pop classics. The Beach Bar is all open air, basically a pier on the very end of the boardwalk with a few different bars, a DJ sometimes, some tables and relaxed but good vibes. Me and some friends stopped by here while walking home from brunch and wanted to soak in a little more of the beautiful weather. I wasn't really feeling a strong drink so we all got pina coladas and daiquiris. FUN, I know. The bartenders were super nice when I inquired about any sort of mocktails because I wasn't too sure I wanted a drink. But when I saw pina colada on the menu I knew it was the drink for me. Stopped here on a pub crawl a few weekends ago. Pros: Great location right next to the beach at Asbury Park, surprisingly not overly priced which some of the other spots along the boardwalk are! After a long day on the beach my friend and I wanted to enjoy some drinks. I've been very weary of dining outside due to everything that's currently going on but I felt very comfortable at The Beach Bar. The tables were spaced out and no one was on top of each other. If you visit Asbury park beach, then you can't miss visiting this cute beach bar that is very lively. The bar is gay owned, proudly displaying a gay flag swaying with the wind. The drinks are good too but I stuck with Angry Orchard's Cider Rose, this was my favorite summer drink. The music was loudly playing awesome tunes, the beach goers were super happy and dancing enjoying the wonderful summer day. The semi-outdoor lounge has wicker seating and tall bar stools with tables and along side the ledge of the space more stools with ledges to look out at the beach waves while sipping on a cold one and bopping to the beats. I've come here for years and always had a great time but sadly my current experience just ruined it. Brought our family who is recently new to the US and the security started questioning the validity of his ID because he was not sure what specific ID to show, and then she proceeded to get passive aggressive and rude. Instead of trying to be helpful, her response is "this is Jersey" and "you should have explained to him" and "I don't know who you are". If this is how we treat guests at a place that is supposed to be inclusive and welcoming, then we will go elsewhere. Very disappointing. read more

I never knew this place existed, until my friend brought me here for drinks before lounging around on the beach. The entire area is outdoors, and is on the edge of the beach, so you can people watch if you like. Service was quick, and they always ask you if you want to make it a double, which can lead to drinking a little more alcohol than you mean to. Was there on a Wednesday around 3pm. Ordered a margarita & a Tito's with grapefruit juice. The margarita was awful & the Tito's was mixed with lemonade not grapefruit juice. When I asked to trade the drinks in for two Coronas I was rudely asked what was wrong with the drinks..I politely responded and said they tasted terrible. These 20 something year old kids behind the bar do not respect the bartender trade. Drinks are slapped together like a child making kool aid. I love how there is a bar that overlooks the ocean . The ambience makes you feel really relaxed and in the moment . I did not have any issues with the bouncers. They were attentive and did their jobs. The bartender was also very friendly. The drinks were meh . My boyfriend got the cruzan mango on the rocks for around 11-13 dollars .it came in a water cup . I got the cruzan drink with the bucket ( bigger + more alcohol ) and it cost slightly more, but not much of a difference in price. Both of our drinks tasted like they were watered down. The drinks are weak and slightly expensive, but the nachos were good and the view is amazing. Good variety of music as well. I had the much revered rum bucket. Even after pouring two extra shots (at $8 a piece plus the actual bucket set me back $14) I was without the slightest buzz. My friend had several top notch margaritas (4-5 of them at $12 each) and he too was plenty sober. Nachos brought enough to share. Service was ok but then again it was a lazy slow Wednesday night. We came here for what is probably the last awesome weekend of the summer and it was bliis. We both ordered a dark & stormy with a beer chaser. They use actual Gosling's in their dark & stormy, so that's worth a star right there! We took our drinks down to the sand, took our shoes off and watched the sun set into the beautiful blue waves; it was a magical after work drink and I will remember it forever. Food that came was ok. They charge $8 for a basket of average fries. That's $$. They don't give enough blue cheese for the amount of wings. I went to Asbury Park for the first time ever with my boyfriend yesterday and I fell in love. The Beach Bar is set on the outside of the Convention Hall so you get to have a nice ocean and beach view as you enjoy your drinks with a slight breeze going on too. There was a DJ playing, there were a good amount of people there and the service was very friendly! The Rum Buckets though. Guys. You need this in your life. First of all, they're $16 which I think is a little much, but then again it's the whole novelty of it. Plus there's GOOD amount of alcohol in there so the price kind of makes sense. So they pour a lot of Cruzan Rum in there over ice, then put some juices in there. From what I saw/tasted, there were hints of orange, mango, peach, and some other really fruity flavors. I had two buckets and I was GONE. I'm definitely coming back to Asbury next year and I'm DEFINITELY having a Rum Bucket again. Plus, it's literally on the beach. The beach bar .... a solid place to go people watch, listen to the jersey shores top play list , have fun drinks, and have crappy guacamole and chips for $13. I give this place 4 stars for the party ambiance and views ofnthe beach. I love coming here and when we are in asbury to enjoy drinks, we defintely Hit this place up! However, the last time we went we made the foolish mistake of ordering guacamole and chips (for 4 of us) at a costly buck. The chips were bland and the guacamole was definitely squeezed out of a tube that had been hanging jn the fridge for too long. It was possibly the worst guacamole ive ever had, and ill buy oremade store guacamole when I cant find ripe avocados, so I know bad guac! It was also a very small amount for a very pricey cost. When it arrived we all made a similar comment. With that said, I wknt let the guac keep me away from going to Beach Bar for drinks, loud music, and people watching. Ah, Beach Bar. Been coming here since last summer and its a great spot to just sit and people watch and have a rum bucket (or 5). Nice spot right on the beach but this time, my boyfriend and I sat at the Anchors Bend to watch the USA v. Turkey soccer match and to get some grub. The place could use some sprucing up (chipped paint and dusty) but not a big deal for me. Ordered some grub - the poutine and naan pizza. Absolutely loved this little hidden gem!!!! From the drinks to the service to the vibe this place was on point! You can find this place tucked around the convention hall right on Ocean Ave. Of course I had to try the specialty drink which is called a rum bucket. It was every bit as good as it sounds. A couple of different rums and juices all in a bucket you can take home with you. The bucket is roughly 4-6 drinks so sharing is a good idea. I also got to try the fish tacos, which were fantastic! Perfectly fried haddock with a jicama and cilantro slaw served with home made chips and a mango ketchup sauce! Truly delicious and the perfect quantity. Everything was so reasonably priced and quick! The bartenders were super friendly and really attentive even when the crowd started to grow. The vibe is very beachy since it IS right on the beach. You can wonder off the sand into the bar and its all very chill. They had a variety of music all with a mellow vibe. Not your typical "house" music that you'd here at other cluby type beach bars. Thats definitely a plus in my mind since I could actually hear my boyfriend talking to me while we had our drinks. Seriously could not be happier with this place.
