I tried Anejo on Cinco De Mayo which ironically fell on Taco Tuesday this year, and let me say it was definitely giving Cinco vibes lol. It's gorgeous inside and so colorful. I visited around 1pm and the vibes were nice and laid back. I throughly enjoyed the dishes I ordered, especially the guacamole. Now they definitely can give you more for the price but nonetheless, it was probably the best guac I have had thus far. Overall, the service was quick and smooth. This place is great! We arrived early on a Friday night so it wasn't crowded and we were sat immediately. Service was quick- we had drinks and appetizers within 10 min of getting seated and our entrees were not far behind. I'm sure this place gets busy later in the night but 5pm seemed to be the sweet spot. There was also fun music playing and the artwork was stunning. The food was delicious! My husband got the chicken fajitas and would not stop raving about it! He rarely comments on his food so that was a testament to its tastiness. He said he got it "Santa Fe style" which looked like it was covered in a chile queso of some sort. It looked really good. I got the taco sampler and decided on the Birria, Korean short rib, and smash burger tacos. They were all so good! The smash burger taco was my favorite of the three but they were honestly all delicious. We had a great time and look forward to returning soon! read more

We live locally so have been to Anejo a bunch. Pretty classic Tex Mex. Because they are located on the first floor of a hotel, their busy-ness can vary quite a bit and we have not had a problem getting a table on a Saturday night. (Their Thursday night trivia is way busier) We love their chips and salsa- I find a lot of salsas to be too sweet and theirs is more savory, which is nice. My entree standby are the enchiladas verdes (enchiladas suizas) and the burritos. Last time I got mine smothered with both the green and the red sauce and it was very good. The black beans that come with many of the meals are just ok, could stand to be more flavorful. The Spanish rice makes up for it and is very good. read more

I was really looking forward to visiting Añejo Rose after a friend recommended their tequila flights. I should've read between the lines or clarified their experience because the experience fell short of expectations. The ambiance, while visually appealing in photos, felt underwhelming in person. The margaritas had a nice flavor but were definitely watered down and inconsistent between the 4 of us, and the food didn't really stand out. The flavors were bland and lacked the creativity I was hoping for, especially considering the menu's "premium" pricing. The service was pretty good- the servers were polite and attentive. Overall, I wouldnt actually recommend unless you you're looking for a casual place to kill time. read more

I have been here every couple months since this place opened. Always consistently very good with my last visit being exceptional. The food was super on point. I love the decor although it can be a little loud. Staff is always very good. Prices are a little on the high side but it's a hotel restaurant. read more

I bookmarked this restaurant six months ago. And I haven't had time to dine here until today. My first impression was this place is busy which translates to they have to have great food and drinks. The menu is different than most Mexican restaurants in the area. We order a molcajete and a burrito. Both dishes were delicious. For drinks we ordered, Margaritas that were well made. Lots of veggies and the pickled carrots have a serious spice kick, took my breathe away. Ice Tea Unsweetened and brewed perfectly. Good tea blend of choice, bold and not bitter. Street Corn Deconstructed street corn. Nice presentation. Fresh cilantro added a nice accent to the flavor as well as the mayo and the corn had a good bite to the texture. Even though the items had spice it was balanced and not overpowering in any of the dishes. How have in it known about this place sooner?!?! I went to check out this place. It has been on my list for awhile. It is now open on Sundays at 4pm. I had never been but I will be back. I had a Banana Margarita!!! I need to go back and try the hibiscus margarita. And how cute is this seasonal cocktail? You know queso is the truth when you get an amazing pull like this and the other appetizers didn't disappoint. Especially the tortilla chips. The were light and crispy. I felt I could eat an unlimited amount without getting that, ugg I ate too many chips feeling (we all know that feeling you get after you eat the whole bag from a popular fast burrito place) and they were sprinkled with tajín. There were many unique tacos. I got a Greek and Korean BBQ and my baseline fish. All are amazing. I was worried the Greek taco would not be great because gyros, but I was wrong. Flour tortillas can love lamb just as much as pita. The birria pizza was fantastic and great to share. Fajitas also bring sizzle to a meal (I couldn't resist) and dang that was a big burrito. The tres leches cake was light and tasty and you can never go wrong with churros. You can but these were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside like they are supposed to be. I really liked the tacos here! I got the three taco platter which came with pickled veggies and a bowl of beans and rice. I picked the fried shrimp taco, the Korean short rib taco and the Nashville hot chicken taco. The fried shrimp taco was my favorite out of all three. The shrimp was fried perfectly in a light and crispy batter. The shrimp was soft and it went well with the sweet salsa. Then I liked the Nashville hot chicken taco. It had a really nice spice level to it. It was spicy but a nice lingering spice that didn't overpower the dish. It added the perfect level of heat to the taco. I liked the Korean short rib taco, but I felt like the short rib had too much soy sauce flavor to it and wasn't really a Korean flavor. It had kimchi in it so I guess that made it Korean. We ordered the plantains and the sweet corn. Both were really good! I would go back to try their other tacos! read more

Ive been here a few times and had quite a bit on the menu and have never been disappointed. They refresh the menu pretty often so when I go there is always something new for me to try. If I would have to give some recommendations go with a margarita or whatever specialty margarita they have on the menu at the time. I have been to the restaurant before. Since it's Cinco de Mayo and I saw the restaurant on the news talking about their specials, I decoded to.go for lunch. I ordered the steak fajitas which were good. The Mexican rice was good as well.They give you complimentary chips and salsa. The service was great. As soon as I walked in, I was seated right away. There was quite bit of customers there, but it wasn't too crowded. For the drink, I ordered the pomegranate margarita. It had a a bit too much alcohol, but it was good. My server was good. I've been seeing this place on my Instagram for weeks! I finally decided to stop by after work. I came around Happy Hour and was impressed with the prices. On the Happy Hour menu, I got the quesadilla with chicken and a pomegranate margarita with a sugar rim. The margarita was refreshing and not too strong, but I could also taste the liquor. The quesadilla was delicious, and the chicken was so well seasoned. It's so easy to go to Mexican restaurants that underseason the chicken in the quesadilla, and I would definitely get it again. I didn't eat anything else that day before coming, so I ordered an entree. I knew I wanted to try something Birria, and at the bartender's suggestion, I ordered the Birria Ramen. The picture speaks for itself, but for $26, I was amazed at how massive the bowl was! The birria was flavorful and tender, and the broth was so good. It had a nice level of spice that wasn't overpowering, and the peppers in the ramen supplemented the spice perfectly. I will definitely be back and I'm eager to try some other things on the menu, I hear the street corn is really good and the pictures of the tacos had me drooling. I went on Wednesday at the start of happy hour so it was pretty quiet, so if you're looking to take advantage of the happy hour menu I advise getting there before 5pm if you can! read more

They give you water on your table and pour it for you from an old liquor bottle, which was very nice. The problem is we stayed until the restaurant was closing, and we witnessed the server take the water bottles off the table and fill it up without emptying them or cleaning them they just refilled them and put them back in the refrigerator so needless to say they were dirty germy and they didn't even empty out the old water that was left from the tables. I would not recommend I tried to call the manager, but they're closed horrible. read more

My husband and I visited Anejo Rose Cantina & Tequila Bar on a Friday. Surprisingly, there was no wait when we arrived. Great news, especially for a weekend night near Arundel Mills Mall. The restaurant isn't too big, but big enough for a pretty good size crowd with enough room for patrons not to be on top of one another. The décor is really dope. Prefect for those who are always looking for a great photo opp. All of the staff was amazing, very attention, especially out waiter. I love when the waiter gives their opinion and makes menu selection, rather than just taking your order. I decided on the Skirt Steak and Chicken Fajitas, a side of the Grilled Street Corn and a Hibiscus Margarita, while my husband had the Birria Ramen. Unintended detour to where Anejo Rose's physical location caused me to change prior dinner plans and try this venue instead. Its location is tucked away off BW parkway on the 1st floor of the Hotel next to Grillfire. Only shy of celebrating a year since Anejo Rose first opened its doors, this Mexican gem is serving delicious dishes and fabulous drinks. Remnants of the previous restaurant of a different cuisine remains as the fire in oven burns as all catch glimpse entering the dining room. Upon starting, the table is served delicious in house made tortillas and roasted veggies salsa. If you like smokey notes and charred markings, this precourse pair is a delight. The guacamole mocaljete was fresh and vibrant. Pops of onions, avocados, and tomatoes swirl this starter. A guaranteed seconds for their fresh tortillas so be easy on these. Their signature drink is the Anejo Rose, a strong concoction of white rose tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave served up in a short stem glass, red salt on the rim and a beautiful dried rose garnishing. Many dishes to choose from, I decided to try the shrimp and crab enchiladas. My love of seafood, this dish made my belly happy. A generous portion of 3 enchiladas filled with full sized shrimp and jumbo lump crab paired with savory black beans and fluffy cilantro rice. Extra limes and cilantro and I was speechless. The flavors, perfectly cooked shrimp, the ambiance, and a stiff cocktail, what more is there to ask? My server Pedro was stellar from start to finish, and my water jug never went dry. No other interaction with our wait staff after she poured our water and took out orders. Usually you can get in and out in 40 mins or so. But this night it was not the case. Late post - visited in September 2024 This is located in the Arundel Hotel. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and actually ended up eating here two different nights. It's low lit in the restaurant, but gives off a warm and inviting ambiance. Our server for both nights were great. The food was flavorful and the drinks were good and strong! If I had to choose between this restaurant or the Grille, I would choose Anejo restaurant in a heartbeat. Definitely recommend!! read more

It's in front of & attached to a hotel so there is a little bit of parking in the front but a huge garage behind the hotel! My only complaint was the seats at the high top tables are horrible! We were sliding off & unless u r tiny ur booty will barely fit & they are just uncomfortable! Sit at a table or the other side of the bar without the high top metal seats!! Great location near Maryland Live and Arundel Mills and near lots of hotels. Quick 15 min drive to/from BWI and about 40 mins from DC. We came on a Friday night and were seated right away despite the place being pretty full. We got one of the last tables and were immediately served hot chips and fresh salsa. Drinks were served promptly, food was a bit slower, but the server kept coming to check in and give us updates. That's what I love to see. My expectations were managed the whole night. We got three different tacos: Nashville hot, Korean bbq, and steak. The Nashville hot was my favorite, but the Korean bbq was the favorite at the table. The steak was tasty and tender, but the flavor profile couldn't compete with the other two. Seems like they do the unique non-traditional flavors very well. I'd like to try the Baja fish taco and stuffed jalapeño tacos next time. It's great to see Mexican coke, Jarritos, and Topo Chico on the menu. Lots of great cocktail options are available too. We visited on a Friday evening. This restaurant is inside a hotel. Parking is free, I love to see it. We were greeted immediately and sat, but the table was so small, we definitely couldn't order multiple items for the table at once. My drink was pretty good, I had the coconut margarita and surprisingly it wasn't overly sweet. I ordered the mix and match tacos which includes 3 tacos of your choice with black beans and rice.......those black beans were the real star. The portion sizes were nice. There was a mix up with one of my tacos, but overall it was a good experience. The decor is along the theme of Dìas de Los Muertos, but the chairs are metal and not very comfortable. We found out that Anejo rose cantina and tequila bar recently opened and wanted to give it a try. The staff were friendly and helpful. We wanted to get their happy hour, so we had to move from our original seats since it was only available if sitting at the bar or the high-tops right at the front. They have complimentary chips and salsa. I really liked the chips they seemed to be made in house. The salsa was okay, not bad. We started with the empanadas de birria ($12 for 2) and a pomegranate margarita and a classic margarita for $8 off of the happy hour menu. For our meals we got the chicken tacos and carnitas tacos off of the happy hour menu. $8 for two tacos which is a bit steep for being a part of a happy hour deal. They were delicious though. Very flavorful with fresh ingredients. For a side we got the street corn ($6). I highly recommend getting this as your side too. They did a good job with them. Points off because I was not a huge fan on the margaritas. They had a weird aftertaste, but they definitely were not weak. Food was overpriced. I will still be back though. All the food was very tasty, and I want to try more of what Anejo Rose has to offer. It is nice to have a nice sit-down Mexican restaurant in this area that is not a chain restaurant. read more

This was a great spot for a girls night. We made reservations for a table of six that was ready as soon as we arrived. Our hostess and our waiter were phenomenal. They were very attentive and assisted us with all of our needs. we ordered a tequila flight which had three different tequilas giving us a chance to try, a small variety of the 101 different tequilas they have. I absolutely love the menu which was very expensive with all the Mexican classics and a lot of new options that will tantalize the tongue. Can't wait to go back again. read more
