I have been here before and usually have a great experience and love my braids. I also love the fact that Anets usually accommodates walk ins. This time I went to a new braider and I was very unhappy with her work( hence only 4 stars). I THINK she was brand new. She literally pulled my hair out of my scalp, and did a very sloppy job with super uneven braids. The braid style I wanted was a SIMPLE 5 cornrows and all of my corn rows are different widths. As I stated before, usually my experience at this establishment has been very positive but next time I will go back to Tina or Anet for my service. read more

I've been going there since right out of high school and they had excellent prices and great braiders. However the back room was kind of shady had an issue happened where the person who was braiding my hair went on break and never came back and took all my hair yet did not finish my braids. The owner just recently passed away so I pray that the business can still do well. read more

She took me in last minute and she took her time taking care of me so I will forever be grateful to her. I've been coming to Anet's Braids on and off since high school. I have found the braiders to be there to work! They are nice, but let's face it, we are there to get the hair hooked up. Ursula has always been professional and patient. Her braids don't​ pull your edges out and she is progressive when it comes to new styles. I have been happy at Anet's and always feel as thoughI'm​m getting my money's worth. I have tried other shops because of how far I live, BUT I always end up coming back to this shop. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR BRAIDED HERE! I REPEAT DO NOT! Where do I even begin?! I came in to get the front of my box braids touched up, so literally only three rows of braids. I called and made an appointment but when I arrived there was no one available to braid my hair. I then waited two hours for one of the worst braiders in Black human History to arrive. This woman took 4 hours to braid three rows of hair! Not to mention she kept stoping because her hands hurt? Dafuk? They hurt so bad she had to leave the shop and get some ointment for her cramping hands. Like If you have arthritis then you probably shouldn't be in the hair braiding business! If I was her last client of the day I could maybe understand, but I was her first so not quite sure what they were cramping from? But the worst part is her cramping hands I guess caused her to make the most crooked parts and different size braids. Literally the sloppiest job ever. After she finally finished my mere three rows of braids after 6 hours in that dingy shop, I just wanted to get the hell outta there. That was my biggest mistake (aside from stepping foot in there to begin with). I should have checked her work! I got home and realized how jacked my hair was after over paying her. 120$ for three rows of hair. (I got, got) So the next day I called and spoke with the "manager" asking for a refund. She told me "well I have to see for myself" and I said fine I'll be by later today. I then drive an hour across town and show her the sloppy work and explained how it took 4 hours to do a touch up. She refused to give me a refund, not even a partial refund and was beyond nasty about it. She didn't blink an eye in regards to the awful customer service and work her business is doing. It's sad to continuously see see black hair business with the worst service and attitudes. If this place did good work I could maybe understand dealing with the nasty attitudes, no scheduling and no customer service, But they don't. They suck! Through and through!! I have been going to Anets Braids off and on since the 80s. I initially started going to the one on Crenshaw until they closed. I had only been to the one on Western a couple of times and then I took my braids out. I have not worn braids for years, but decided I wanted my sexy back so I called Anets and went in for my appointment. Earlene did small individuals on my short hair in 7 1/2 hours. I could not believe I left that shop and the sun was still up. I enjoyed their company while I got my hair braided, which also made the time go by fast. I am definitely back as a repeat customer. Don't use this braid shop! Braids are too tight, ripping hair out particularly around the edges. There are good braiders there but they allow and watch the bad braiders to damage your hair. Unorganized and unprofessional. Twice now, I have called to confirm an appointment and was told I could not be serviced at my appointment time, because they accepted walk-ins before me. Why would you tell me I have to come at a specific time, and then tell me I can't be serviced "because I did not come early enough?" I would highly discourage anyone from going here. read more

I've been getting my hair braided by Ms. Ursula for over 20 years. At the tender age of 10, I knew that I was slaying in my braids, and all these years later, I'm still slaying in my braids. Ms. Ursula (I call her Ms. because I've known her for so long) is fast, takes care of your hair, and she truly can do some amazing braids. I been coming to Anette's off and on since the 90's. When I first started going there it was a full house of braiders and would be busy every weekend. Ms. Anet was still braiding then and the braiders that worked there were Ursula Andrea Ethel Carol Pocahontas Diamond Earlene would be there from time to time but she also had her own shop, Ms Shari had the seat in the back and still do and a few more I can't remember off hand. Times have changes and so have a few of the braiders but the location is still standing. I use to get my hair braided by someone who worked from home but since she flaked on me, I found myself back here. I'm only giving it 4 stars for two reasons. Service and styling products. My first time coming back in years I call to make a Saturday appointment with Earlene, who is hella cool and funny and she braids fast, I spoke to someone on the phone and I asked for an Appointment and was told to come at 830 and I said ok, thank you. And that was it. I would think that you would want to know the customer you are dealing with and at lease get the persons name and a contact number. This happened not once but twice. If you get the person name and number it sets both a professional and personal standard of service. On the good side, they do take walk-in appointment but keep in mind you will have to be patient and wait. I set a same day walk-in and was told to come in 30 minutes and I did. Because I needed my hair braided because my own personal braider flaked on me for the last time, I went to the shop and sat in the chair and waited and waited and waited. I understand waiting and the process and I understand that I was a last minute appointment but how about a "Hello, someone(name of stylist) will be right with you as soon as she is done. That would also help. Styling only because majority of the ladies do the french braids with the knots and feed in braids are alot less tension on the edges. But it could be my fault beacuse I never asked for them. I have seen Tiffany do them. They have a lot of walk ins that want just the one French braids which is about $35-40. Corn rows or space braids two layers start at about $65-75 and close together is about $75-85. I have never got individuals, because I hate taking then down but I have asked and they start at about $150. Now days they have Ursula in the front chair, and other braiders are Tiffany, Trina, Ms. Shari, Earlene, Teresa and these ladies are nice and seem like they enjoy the work that they do and the environment. So this is always my go to spot when I need my braids done. Make sure you come with your hair washed, they prefer to use Rastafari in the yellow package, and they do offer to take down braids but it will cost you. read more

I was referred to this shop by a friend of mine and I was very skeptical due to the reviews I read but braved on anyway and made a same day appointment with Tiffany and was very surprised that not only did she understand the style I was looking for, but added and element I did not think of and made it look even better. Tiffany was very nice and I liked that the stylists did not talk about the other clients and each other while I was there. It felt like they were sisters and not co-workers. anets braids needs to be much more organized! nobody wants to drive all the way to a shop without an appointment and possibly be seen. answer your phone and set appointments make sure the clients are seen at the appointment time and be professional. half the battle is won it seems you ladies do decent hair but we pay you a lot and the service is included in that fee. ive said it and ill say it again, i love supporting black businesses but i wont support a mess. please get it together so i can give you my money. read more
