Ugh. I've had my share of bad haircuts -- trust me. Like BAD, to the point that I've had family look at me and say, "Oh man, what happened?" Unfortunately, this is one of them. Like... what happened? Caleb spent LESS THAN 10 MINUTES cutting what others in the salon literally described as the "thickest hair we've had all day." And yet it was basically chop, chop, chop... done. No blending. No finessing. Meanwhile, he was cutting THREE clients' hair at the same time. The double/triple-booking clearly did me no favors. This was especially frustrating because their online system had already allowed me to book with Caleb the day before, only for me to find out that appointment was a system error and I had to be rescheduled. If you don't have the time to accommodate me or my coarse hair, just tell me. I would genuinely rather reschedule or go somewhere else than be rushed out the door looking like this. Instead, I left with what looks like a staircase for layers, along with random chunks of long hair that were apparently just... missed. And honestly, that's not surprising when an entire women's haircut on extremely thick hair is done in roughly 5-10 minutes while the stylist is simultaneously working on other clients. I paid $120 for this haircut. At that price, I don't think expecting someone to actually take the time to blend the layers, check the cut, and make sure entire sections weren't missed is asking too much. Stopped by here after seeing a TikTok and was welcomed by Helen who started me off with a hair wash and scalp massage, very pleasant! Helen was friendly and made the experience more comfortable. They give you a locker in the beginning to put away anything you might want to keep safe while getting your cut. After my wash they brought me to Caleb who was extremely professional. One reference photo and he figured out exactly what I needed and was extremely quick. He gave off a very confident air that makes you feel like you can trust him with your hair. First, You cannot believe the reviews because they coerce clients into leaving 5 stars by offering a discount on your appointment- not sure businesses are allowed to do that. I had a mediocre haircut there this week- it's shorter than I wanted it and the ends are too thinned out but I wasn't going to actually write a review. Second, they try to push their hair products the whole appointment for purchase and during check out. Third, I was going to schedule my daughter a haircut as well but she got sick and I had to cancel. I gave plenty of notice and they said they'd waive the cancellation fee but I would have to book with a different stylist because the stylist didn't want to take us again. Then they went back on their word and tried to charge me anyways. I only support businesses with integrity and I will no longer be doing my hair here. I don't recommend. read more

I had a terrible experience and am incredibly disappointed with a $120 haircut plus tip. I came in asking for a blended, texturized lob and showed clear reference photos. Caleb took a quick look and spent less than 15 minutes rushing through my hair, leaving the top layers completely disconnected from the bottom. It literally looks like a blunt bowl cut sitting on top of a straight curtain of hair (see my photos). When I told him it didn't look right, he just dismissed it, blaming the blow-dry and saying "I think the layering looks good." On top of that, the assistant's blow-dry was an incredibly outdated style that made me look like an ajuma. I contacted the salon to get a refund so I could pay a different salon to fix the structural mistake, but the receptionist hung up on me. I messaged management with photos, and they just sent back script responses refusing a refund. Careless and unprofessional. Check the photos to see the disconnect for yourself. UPDATE: The salon's response completely misses the point. This isn't a styling issue or a limitation of my "hair density"--it's a fundamental technical error. Rushing through my dense hair in less than 15 minutes is exactly why I was left with a blunt, blocky bowl-cut shelf sitting on top of a straight curtain of hair. Also, their "detailed communication" was just a copy-pasted script refusing a refund. I am not comfortable letting the same stylist cut more of my hair to "refine" a mistake he dismissed in the chair. read more

Hair Arca boasts some the worst service I've ever received at a hair salon. They took me in 10 mins after my appointment time, looked at my consultation photo once, asked 0 questions and immediately started chopping. My stylist (Caleb) took about 8 mins just snipping away, then said he was done. He didn't show me how my hair looked from the back, he didn't ask if I liked the cut, he just threw me out and pointed me to a kiosk where the min tip is 20% Just my personal experience with Caleb. Honestly, if the cut was great I wouldn't even mind too much, but it's incredibly mediocre. They tout themselves as premier with subpar skills, subzero customer service, and a sense of ego so pervasive it suffocates the room. My first time, and certainly my last. Shout out to Caleb. The staff at the salon is lovely, attentive, and kind. Lisa was great and I really appreciate her. I had come here a few other times for simple trims and my hair came out great. This most recent time however was very different. I was traveling from across town and there was an accident on the freeway that pushed back my arrival. My appointment was at 1pm. I called twenty minutes prior to inform them I would arrive at 1:08 and they said that was not a problem. I arrive at 1:06. Caleb seemed irritated. I showed him the reference photo and he began working on my hair. I only wanted a trim and some wispy bangs. He rushed through the entire cut. Half way through he began working on another client and then returned 15 minutes later. I was trusting the process but the end result was nothing like the photo I showed him. I attached them for reference but I am absolutely devastated by what I received. He overbooks his appointments so if you want something even remotely complex there is little to no attention to detail and he gives you whatever he deems is close enough. Each cut is given roughly 15-20 minutes however if you want more than a trim done, far more time is necessary. read more

First timer here & it was highly recommended by instagram folks and multiple online platforms. I'm only giving it 1 stars for the hair shampoo and dying was up to my liking and Lisa was pretty hard working when she was being told to do stuff left and right from blow drying to moving certain tables to shampooing customer's hair to putting towels into the dryer. Helen was very interactive while my hair was getting dyed. Very friendly. Caleb was my stylist. He was being efficient but sad to say he didn't meet my expectations with my haircut. He gave off high aurora after showing a pic of what I wanted once, which the cut wasn't similar to what my photo has shown to him. I didn't except my bangs to be this short and up against my face when the photo shown to be curtain bangs. I think he tried to style it a bit more so it covered up the bangs being messed up. I think this place is more so better at just dying and head spa treatment than cuts personal opinion wise I felt semi pressured to tip them so the cut wasn't worth over $300 for... Edit: I gave them a call after few minutes leaving the shop to ask for a refund. Caleb himself told the receptionist that they can't do that cause "time was spent cutting the hair"....20-25 min cut is equivalent to well spent. That's insane. I have shared to Helen, during my session earlier, that I've done some research on salons prior to settling down with this salon to cut my hair. I expected to feel renewed but it's the reverse. Personally I feel like when someone walks out of a salon with a new hair cut, you're basically getting a free advertisement for your product but I'm not proud of my cut to say that I'm walking out in public with confidence. Especially the fact that a hair cut helps bring an image/impression of someone. I'm glad I wasn't going on a date/interview or anywhere that needs to be physically presentable cause this cut would ruin it. Should've looked at the review made by someone 2 months ago who wanted a wolf cut too...I much rather have my hair looking like a mop than this. As the manager and head stylist of this shop, you shouldn't be proud that not just one but two customers has left reviews that aren't pleased with their cut, a free voucher to come back to get it "fixed" isn't gonna cut it. What else are you gonna cut? My bangs that's already beyond my forehead? Are you going to buzz off my hair too? On the call, I only asked for a refund for the cut (around $111) and not the full refund price of $375 including tax. But to state saying he doesn't even want a cut refund is ridiculous...it comes off as you're not apologetic for ruining someone's image for the next few months....spraying product on my hair isn't gonna hide the fact that you ruined the cut and it's nowhere close to the reference photo... Mind you, Caleb has never mentioned to me that the photo of my choice as reference was too long for my hair prior to cutting it. The only thing he kept emphasizing on was "you want to keep the back long right?". He also never mentioned to me that he would cut my bangs extremely short either, that's not even close to how the bangs are suppose to look like in the reference photo. Before my haircut, I treated myself to the hair spa service with Helen, and it was wonderful- she used the Arca Genol hair product on me, which smelled incredible and left my scalp feeling so fresh and clean. Such a relaxing way to start the appointment. My haircut with Caleb was honestly the best I've had in a long time. I love my haircut!! I looked at the review photos online to decide what kind of cut I wanted and landed on a hush cut. It looks how I envisioned it. For context, I normally only get simple layers and get my hair cut once a year but I might consider coming here at least twice a year. The service here was amazing! When you first arrive, there are lockers to put your bags in and an area for a hair wash. They are friendly, chatty if you want to be, and provide recommendations for your hair type. One issue I've been trying to tackle is my dry scalp - after shampoo was applied, they recommended the Arca Genol head spa and hair pack product which genuinely nourished and refreshed my scalp. After, I was taken to the cut area where they asked what I wanted. I showed reference photos and gave the option of layers vs hush cut - whichever Caleb thought was the best for my face shape.
