We were ignored when we entered. One of the clean up peeps ( we learned she was the owner) recognized that we and others were waiting to be seated. (The money taker passed by us often. Her message- you need to grab money before making the incoming welcome. ) The waitress brought our Chianti and disappeared with our order. The wine came quickly. The dinner did not. We had to ask for bread plates. Our dinner came out 15 minutes later. There was a lot of it. The Spaghetti was good; the Eggplant was okay. Slightly below mediocre, edible and not disgusting are the kindest things that can be said about this place. Bland, uninteresting, somewhat indifferently prepared, overpriced also come to mind. Service varies a bit. Some of the staff seem hostile, others are extremely friendly and engaging. I'd have to speculate they're struggling as a business, the way many do in this area. Hard to get employees, and here we are solidly into the tourist season and the place is mostly empty on a typical night. But it also takes money to make money. They have a great location near other businesses on the main route through town. But the waitress wasn't sure what wines they have. Something described as "merlot" was undrinkable. They have liquor, but it was a challenge to find a very poor quality tequila to produce a drinkable marguerita. The place appears to be more popular for breakfasts, which I have not tried yet, having only been there twice for dinners. Also, if you're a vegetarian, you won't starve, but won't be happy either. I wish this place some luck. The area needs a good restaurant, but this isn't it. read more

Might be the best food in town but it is very mediocre Italian food. I had fettuccine with their Rosso sauce and it did not have much flavor. Salad/dressing was bland. Had jumbo shrimp with my pasta that was not very fresh and I know I'm a dumb ass to think it should be better in the UP - but it's pretty damn good when I make it in indiana. She had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken that was also very bland. Her wedding soup was tasty but not great. Drinks were a light pour but we drink too much I guess. Heard they had good fish but don't know. Not much to eat in this town so this is probably as good as it gets. read more

Spent the weekend pretty secluded in Cedarville and was so thankful for yelp to suggest this restaurant that was nearby. It's definitely a small town staple for locals. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we came for breakfast and carried out pizza one night. The breakfast was really good minus their biscuits and gravy. I ordered a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and my girlfriend for the same thing with pancakes instead of toast. Their homemade white toast is wonderful! Their pancakes were on the thinner side which I loved! We ordered a side of biscuits and gravy because well we are from Indiana and chunky. We. Love. Our gravy . The thing is, their gravy was sweet. Like it had sugar in it and kind of a strong sage taste. It wasn't bad but it was very different and I just couldn't eat much of it. But besides that, the food was wonderful! We ordered pizza for takeout one night from here, as well (hey, options were limited in the town- don't judge). The pizza was pretty good! Crust is a little on the thicker side and they had a fair amount of toppings! Overall, we enjoyed our trips/food here and their service was very friendly and attentive. Don't stop here, keep driving. We stopped here on our way back from Drummond Island on a Sunday afternoon. We were starving! I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Basket. I could almost taste the shrimp and sat in anticipation for my order to arrive. A few minutes later the waitress returned to our table to inform me they were out of shrimp. She left me a menu so could I my second choice. My second choice was the perch basket. I was told they were out of perch as well. My third choice was the chicken strip basket. Yep, you guessed it, they were out of chicken strips too. I reluctantly settled on the Whitefish basket only be disappointed by the two small pieces of fish on top of a mountain of French fries. What a waste of $12.95. They should call it the French fry basket , not the Whitefish basket! Other points to consider: The Cherry Coke was so weak I couldn't even taste the cherry. Many meals used to come with the salad bar, now for the same price they will give you one tossed salad!?!? My soft drink was NOT kept full. I was VERY disappointed in Ang-Gios! Our party of four stopped in at Cedarville on our way home from Drummond Island to Indianapolis for breakfast. Ang-Gio's is a tradition for my friends, but this was my first visit. Ang-Gio's does breakfast right. The menu is smart; not too big, yet offering a good representative sampling of common breakfast items. The servers greet you with coffee and keep it coming. The staff is a model of efficiency; you get your silverware, your coffee, and your menus within seconds. The servers know the menu well; I ordered a vegetarian omelet, and the waitress said, that doesn't come with cheese. Would you like to add it? As a matter of fact, I didn't want cheese, but I appreciate that the waitress realizes most people would expect it. My friends ordered pancakes, eggs, and sausage links. Again, Ang-gio's does breakfast right. The food is hearty, hot, and tastes good. You'd think it was hard to screw up breakfast, wouldn't you? You'd be wrong; it can be done well or poorly. Ange-gio's does it well. The prices are reasonable, too. The parking lot can be a little crazy, because so many people are coming and going. This is a popular restaurant. Even so, I never saw a line for tables last longer than 2 minutes. Tables turn over quickly here. There doesn't seem to be a lot of lingering over breakfast. Ang-gio's is definitely worth a stop for breakfast. I can see why my friends have made eating here a tradition. read more

Just what was needed a great home cooked breakfast. The homemade sausage patties were phenomenal. Potatoes were scratch made and just the right level of crispy. Homemade Italian toast was delicious as well, though I would have been plenty full with one slice. Service was fast and friendly. We recently ate here after visiting the Les Cheneaux area and finding out that our favorite local restaurant, the Hessel Bay Inn, had gone out of business. We kind of drove around checking out local eateries and seeing which parking lots were the fullest (one unscientific method for scouting out new places to eat) and decided to stop here. First of all -- be prepared for a blast from the past -- the 1970's, in fact, both in terms of decor and menu items; which is understandable because it's a family restaurant in a small town. Fair enough. I ordered a luncheon-size eggplant parm,while my partner ordered the daily special, a "Godfather Panini" based on one of their submarine sandwich offerings. We also opted for the salad bar -- very "meh," nested in a large bed of wilted kale. The soup of the day, a "cheese medley" (a dangerous word, we have learned, on menus), was actually pretty good except for the random frozen vegetables that had been tossed into it. The pickled beets were good, but the other prepared salads were school-cafeteria quality, and the fresh vegetables were pretty mundane.When we got our lunches, my partner was disappointed to find that her almost 9-dollar sandwich was about 3/4 inches thick, with a bare minimum of the promised fillings. I was happier with my eggplant, which wasn't oily or smothered in breading, and was covered in what tasted like a fresh marinara sauce. Would we go back? I don't think so. All things considered, I don't feel we got our money's worth either in terms of taste or atmosphere. We really want small-town businesses to succeed, especially in areas dependent on seasonal tourism, but we just can't recommend this restaurant, at least as we experienced it. read more

Pizza is good here, but we had a bad experience on 9/5/21. The hostess wouldn't sit us at one table with 8 people for breakfast, despite the fact that we sat with 8 at one table there a few days ago. Our two tables were right next to each other and she wouldn't allow them to be put together. The hostess was not in the business of taking care of customers. Her attitude was enough that we walked out. We overheard her telling another table that a few minutes prior, another group walked out because of her. Tough one for the owners and servers there when revenue/tips walk out. The bright side here is that we went to Cattails. It was great and service was wonderful. read more

Love the pizza. Have not had a bad, or even questionable, experience with their pizza. I wish they had a 300 mile delivery radius. On our last visit, we stayed and worked over the menu. Across 4 adults (38-76) and 4 kids (13-6), we got a little bit of everything. The subs are great, especially the godfather. They had a steak and shrimp special going, the steak was cooked perfectly and was flavorful, the shrimp were typical breaded shrimp (same with the fried clams). Their pasta dishes were perfect with great selections of noodles, sauces, and toppings so you can custom build your favorite... Great reviews from the kids (the green pesto sauce was a bit oily though). The salad bar was very fresh, great selections, soup, prepared items, etc. I could have just had the salad bar and been very happy. Service was very friendly and responsive, even with the summer rush pushing them. Looking forward to another pizza, or maybe just the godfather sub and salad bar! read more

Stopped in for lunch today. Had a GodFather sub that had the exact right amount of meat on it when a dressing that topped it perfectly and my wife had a Meatball sub that should've required two plates to be brought in. I mean Both subs were massive, especially the meatball. Onion rings and motz sticks were fantastic as well. Only knock are the fries, typical oven baked ruffle fries which was very disappointing. The best thing about Ang-Gio's is the extensive menu which means there were a few vegetarian options for me. I had the eggplant parm, which was not overly greasy and had was served with a nice marinara. However when we tried to go back later in the week, they were out of eggplant. My husband had clam strips and said they were cooked well. Other family members were pleased with the food as well. Decor is dated and service can be slow but food, while it won't blow you away, is above average. Save your money and skip the mediocre salad bar though. read more
