We came to check out the Wednesday night movie night. We got the message somewhere that movies started at 7pm. The movie started at 8pm and it still was not dark enough to see the screen. Space is comfy with couches. Facebook page advertises a whole different event on Wednesday nights. We made the best of it and ordered a charcuterie board, sat on the patio and took in the views. Super cool place to check out! I've never been here and it was such a unique hotel. I really love the art pieces in the lobby area and even in the bar area there's pops of colors with an nice view of the city. The bartenders were super friendly too. The appetizers are so good too! The flatbreads were tasty and filling. The ravioli was yummy! I got a mango cocktail and it was super fruity and sweet! I'd definitely come back to try more fun drinks and enjoy the weather in the summer. read more

It's a pop up bar called Moose Lounge. Supposedly a flash back of the classic movie National Lampoon Christmas Vacation. In my opinion this was an epic fail. Total let down !!! Advertisements on social media were fantastic. I was actually fighting to get here to partake in all the festivities of the supposedly fun food , drink and picturesque moments. Starting off this disaster of an evening parking is unheard of. Nowhere on the website does it tell you parking is limited street parking and because it's located in a hotel the parking lot is reserved for guest! I'm so happy I actually found someone leaving and grabbed the parking space. It's paying parking lots and garages all around and I'm telling you it's not worth the $20/30 fee at all. Once we get to the ph floor you get off the elevator make two lefts and that is literally the bar. Very limited seating and bar space. Limited staff and jammed packed. Mediocre props and lighting. Rooftop vibes would have been nice and spacious and more seating but the weather was not accommodating so that is why it was packed on the inside I'm guessing. FYI if you're going to try the pop up experience you have to make it comfortable for all customers . There should have been some heaters outside and fire pits . I was very disappointed in this experience and I will not be back . I'm giving two stars only for the advertising , view and tricking me down here ! read more

My husband brought me here for the first time on my birthday in September last year. I believe it was a Wednesday night. The space is beautiful. There is a dance floor, indoor and outside seating area with five or six private-ish cabana type seating and it's covered for inclement weather. The bar area has a nice amount of seating and they have a great selection of liquor choices. They also have bar food like tacos and sliders and fries I believe. We ordered tacos and they were OK. Nothing to write home about, just basic bar food chicken tacos. Our drinks were also good! We had a great time THAT night. I have been back two more times and the bartenders attitudes have been consistently poor. I almost didn't even order a drink the last time I came for my husband's birthday in June; we came in like an hour and a half before closing time. There was like 6 or 7 of us. The 2 bartenders there were not pleasant at all, damn near had attitudes that we came with a SMALL group. They didn't smile, barely greeted us, barely wanted to address our party, like?? What's the problem? Idk if I'll be back.... But if I do decide to come back, I absolutely plan to bring it to a managers attention if I receive subpar service. read more

This roof top bar in the heart of Grand Center has one of the best views of the city. The perfect spot to grab a drink before or after a show at the Fox Theatre, the Sheldon, or dinner nearby. We most recently visited for their rooftop pumpkin patch. They had a few seasonal drinks we wanted to try. But, the Art Bar is always fun regardless of the weather (it's temperature controlled inside, but you have the option to go outside on 2 different rooftop patios). Here are the fall -themed drinks we tried: *Apple Crisp: caramel vodka and apple liqueur with a cinnamon graham cracker rim *Pumpkin Spice Mule: spiced rum, pumpkin puree and ginger beer *Cherry Pie: caramel vodka and cherry liqueur with a graham cracker rim. This was my favorite! *Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini: espresso, vodka, pumpkin cream liqueur , Kahlua, and pumpkin puree. Would be perfect when it gets a bit colder! *Black & Bourbon: bourbon, hazelnut liqueur, and coffee liqueur Here are the snacks we enjoyed: *The Cheese Board was so original! They had a bright green cheese with basil & thyme and the red cheese was soaked in wine! We also had some more ordinary cheeses but everything was elevated with the fig jam. There's a separate charcuterie board if you want meat. *The St. Louis Flatbread was served hot! We loved the 3 cheese blend and sausage pizza. *The Chicken Tacos were more than just ordinary. Lots of fillings: ancho chicken, black bean & corn salsa, avocado crema, cotija cheese, and cilantro. They have street parking on the side of the building. It was a white wine which should have been chilled but wasn't. they lost our flatbread pizza order so no food bc we had to go and couldn't wait another 30-45 minutes. 4.5/5 Stars (a STRONG 4.5) I have been wanting to stay at this hotel since it first opened years ago! I took a tour when they opened courtesy of Yelp (how fitting) and fell in love with the concept of "mood-based" rooms. That's right. You pick your room based on the mood you want to achieve. There are four colors to choose from: yellow, green, blue, and red. All of the rooms feature a fully immersive experience as everything in the rooms is color-coordinated - the walls, ceilings, drapes, furniture, etc. I chose a blue king room when coming back home to STL last week for a night. It was super cute! It was very calming and I loved that there were books in the room as decoration (and to read if you like), as well a small zen garden in the window! I LOVED THAT!!! Another great aspect of the room was that it was very quiet. That could have been due to not many people on my floor (if anyone else was there as it was mid-week), but even the busy traffic on Grand could barely be heard from my 11th floor room. The hotel lobby is on the 12th floor so that was a bit interesting taking a rather long walk from my rental car at the entrance, up the elevator to the front desk and then back down again to park the car in their lot and then again, back up the elevator to my room. The front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful. All of the staff there was friendly, as well as my waitress at Commonwealth for breakfast at the hotel. So why 4.5 stars and not 5? My only complaint with my room was that it was too dark. :( I tried to get over this but couldn't. I had to use my phone flashlight to be able to read things in the room. There were only 5 lights in the room (not including the bathroom). This included the entrance/hallway light, the desk light (which was cute but intentionally dim), a dimly lit shaded floor lamp, a sconce by the bed, and a small reading light on the other end of the bad attached to the headboard. Sorry to be a granny but I needed at least one more light - maybe a ceiling chandelier, another floor lamp, something! Aside from that, this hotel was beautiful and the room was super cute! I highly recommend Angad Arts Hotel and encourage you to check it out even if it's just to see the beautiful artwork throughout the hotel and to grab a drink in the rooftop bar! read more

We made a reservation for the rooftop igloos, and it was a super cool experience! We paid $100 to rent the igloos for 2 hours, and it fit up to 6 people. They provided blankets and comfy chairs for everyone. There was a $100 food and drink minimum, which wasn't hard to reach with all 6 of us eating and drinking. They had holiday cocktails which were all yummy! The food items we got included a charcuterie board, pork belly, ceviche, cheese curds. The cocktails were a bit pricey, but kind of expected for a rooftop bar in the city. The parking was a bit difficult, especially on a weekend with events going on, but we found street parking. The service was good overall. - Charcuterie board (4/5): a good variety of meats and cheeses, reasonable portion size. We asked for nuts on the side due to an allergy, and they forgot to do that first time around so we got a second plate without charge. - Ceviche (3/5): this was okay, pretty basic chips. Ceviche tasted fine but not the most fresh. - Pork belly (3.5/5): this was tasty, seasoned well. Just felt like the meat should have come with some sort of carb, as it was just served as like meat on a bed of lettuce. - Cheese curds (4/5): these were actually super tasty. This is a difficult review. The hotel room and facility was quite unique. I have been here in the past at the roof top bar. This was the first time I planned to stay the night. Check in was fairly easy, but you do have to check in to get the pass to get into the parking lot, so it takes longer to get settled. It was late so we went straight up to the room. We got one of the red rooms. Everything was red! It was a great room and we settled in and went to sleep for the night. When we woke we messed around the room and decided to take a shower. No water in the shower. Toilet flushes, sink works but dribbles out the shower head. So we called to the reception desk and told her what we were experiencing and we were told someone from maintenance would come up and look at it. 45 min goes by. We call down again and they apologized and said they would call us when someone was on the way. 30 min goes by. I decide to go reception because at this point, we need to get out of here. Christina calls down and gets put on hold. When I met with the representative, I could tell she was frustrated. I don't think she was getting any response from maintenance on the situation. I asked her to just give us another room key so we could just shower and leave. She started working on that but again, was having computer issues with generating a key on a room that we were not check into. Someone came out and helped her release a room that was out of service due to a/c work, to allow the system to programs a key. Finally he got one and walked me up to the other room to take our showers. Here is the bottom line. The difference between great service and average service really comes down to what happens when something goes wrong. How are your employees trained to react to a bad situation? Ultimately, they got us a room, but the time between when we initiated the call to having zero follow up until I went to the front desk and left the hotel almost 2 hours later than planned was frustrating. read more

Can't beat the view here but unfortunately the mixed drinks are all misses. I've been here a few times over the years - mostly after a show at the Fox - and several times have been turned away because there wasn't enough staff to open. Hopefully we are far enough out of the covid-era now that they can be open more regularly. They had a DJ playing live music this past Sunday afternoon and my friend and I really enjoyed the ambiance. A good spot for a round of drinks on a nice day however I've tried different cocktails here at least 3 times and my advice is to stick with the beer or canned cocktails. read more

The food was delicious however the Sri is were sub par and we had to order additional shots or adjust each drink k which was a bit off putting. As frequent diner's we equate bad drinks to bad food. Although I won't allow this to tarnish the entire experience I would highly suggest management address the bar tending. Hey Yelp Friends!!!! So I decided to book a hotel in St. Louis as my job is paying for me to find a place to live. I'll be relocating here end of July! So, I arrived exactly at 1pm CST. Pros: The art is beautiful! In The hotel. The rooms and the decor is gorgeous!!! Ended up getting the yellow room!! Cons: the front desk staff was inconsiderate when I arrived. I specifically asked for an early check-in and late check out in my reservation. However, he was like no & informed me that check-in was at 4pm. Hotel Isn't busy at all btw. He also said that all his people checked out at 12pm (an hour before). Lastly, when we asked if we could at least park our vehicle in the lot (our parking was free) he said no only when he gives us a key. But, he did a pre-check and charged my card (WTF). For $191 a night (includes $30 breakfast in price), I expected decent service and accommodations. I will say, I would not have had this problem at a Hilton, Marriott, hell even at a Holiday Inn. Ended up sitting in my car until the room was ready. Checked in at 3pm. Lobby was difficult to locate. You have to park in the back and enter through back door. Once in, the signage is difficult to locate. Ended up getting on the elevator to figure out that the lobby is on the 12th floor. We ended up walking through the building before getting on the elevator initially as we thought the lobby was on the first floor butttttt no. Also, when you arrive you have to go up to the 12th floor check-in go back down park your car and come right back up! This entire experience rubbed me the wrong way! Such a super cool and chic hotel. There's lots of artwork on display all throughout the building, some of it interactive. You choose your room color, be it red, yellow, blue, or green. Our green king suite was large and comfortable with the bedroom separated from the living room. The linens are ultra plush, and the bathroom is stocked with quality Molton Brown products. As you explore the hotel, you'll find a reading room full of books and publications, and the music room with a variety of stringed instruments for playing. You must enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar, offering a fabulous downtown view. Breakfast each morning in the dining room is tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. You can't beat the location of this hotel. The Fox Theatre is down the street, and you'll have quick access to the Forest Park area where you can experience the zoo, museums, a science center, The Muny Theatre, and a boathouse with a restaurant. Reviewing Color Your Winter Igloo Experience: Great time trying out of one of the igloos here last night at Color Your Winter Igloo Experience! It was a $100 to reserve the igloo and $100 food and drink minimum and you can have up to a group of 6. The igloo was so nice and cozy, with blankets and heaters. Located on the penthouse floor of the building so you have a pretty cool view as well. Portion sizes are a bit smaller so you'll have to order several plates to feed a larger group. The cheese curd plate came with these mushroom empanadas, definitely a favorite for our group. The holiday cocktails were awesome! The sleigh ride drink with crème de menthe (think boozy hot chocolate), cranberry mule, bobbing for apples, and peppermint patty were some of our favorites. Our waitress was so kind and provided excellent service. Definitely get a reservation if you can and while you're there go check out all the neat/funky art they have! read more

We had very friendly service, with everyone having on masks. The room was very clean, and i was happy there were few guests. The room is beautiful and the blue was very relaxing. The gem of a hotel nestled in the art district of mid town has quiet the staff and allure that someone would be looking for to have an exciting weekend away. The entire hotel is art... one pop full of color at a time. They have color themed rooms. I have stayed in the red and green now and both were exactly what the hotel states they offer. A different spin on hospitality. Everyone from the front desk ladies, to the housekeeping and chefs/ waiters at the first floor restaurant... were amazing!! My husband and I were happy for the location as well since the Fox Theatre and Powell Hall are in very close vicinity to the hotel. We would have appreciated being told, when making our reservation, that there would be extremely loud construction going on next door starting before 7am each morning. We would have either requested a room on the other side of the building or chosen to stay somewhere else. I never wanted to leave this hotel y'all. I fell in love with the Angad upon first glance of the first floor just to realize that wasn't even the official hotel lobby! The founder of this hotel seriously ripped a page from my thoughts and put all of my creativity and day dream thoughts into reality. It was like every random burst of happiness was thrown into this hotel. I loved every single second of my stay here including the snowmageddon (I'm from the South so I'm not used to snow) in early December which left me spending a whole day exploring the hotel. The amount of art and artist installations in this boutique hotel just screams excitement. The larger than life lamp installation with the rotating videos, the eclectic paintings from Paula Haniszewski, the conference room, and the play/music room in that luxurious purple velvet were all some of my favorite moments. I was given a yellow themed room and it was quirky in the best way possible. The bathroom was massive and the shower had amazing water pressure. Credit needs to be given to the toiletries they provided because I wanted to swipe them all haha. They were so good and high quality. A big reason for my love of this hotel was how superb the staff was at the front 24/7. No matter when I needed something including a possible extra night they always had a smile on their face and were so accommodating. We booked the hotel for our anniversary, because we made plans downtown, but the hotel in itself was a great experience! They had an art show on the lower level as we came into the building. The staff was very nice. The rooms and the building was very fun, and super colorful, with the art theme. The rooftop bar and grill offers an amazing view of the city! It also offers many types of comfortable seating areas to accommodate everyone, whether you're there to eat dinner or just relax with friends and enjoy the scenery! The only downfall was the construction next door that began at 7am on a Saturday. It sounded like trains were going by every few minutes. That's not the hotel's fault. I just wish we had a room further from the construction. We weren't planning on the awful awakening on Saturday morning. read more

The hotel itself was also super funky and located near Saint Louis University and the Fox Theater. The hotel is essentially an artwork in itself. This review is for their New Years Eve Party and facilities in general as I have not stayed as a hotel guest. I questioned giving 2 stars not staying as a guest but the hotel had two chances to wow me and both fell flat. See my review of the adjoining restaurant which was also meh. During an event at the hotel, which was poorly under-serviced at the rooftop bar, I was convinced by the events coordinator to come to their NYE party. I mean, the hotel is gorgeous and brand new. They'll blow this one up! Wrong. I convinced 6 friends to pay $100 a ticket for this mess (one visiting from NYC). There is a ballroom on the 12th floor which during my first tour, they described using the view as the backdrop for the bar during weddings. You can see all of Grand Ave and the FOX marquee. It's a lovely ballroom. Instead, for the NYE party, they used a ballroom down a dark corridor, up a service elevator to the 2nd floor, and window-less. My friends and I were so excited to see what the Angad Arts would do for NYE to showcase that they are new and fresh and ready to host! They advertised PREMIUM open bar. Now, I know how this NYE hotel party thing goes. They all pretty much suck. They all advertise premium liquor and serve crap with long lines and bad music. I thought Angad could rise above. It was an open bar you'd see at a Soulard pre-Blues game. Gin and vodka brands I did not recognize. ONE bartender. 25 people in line when we got there. Rest assured they couldn't make a manhattan or anything like that. Why is it so damned hard to get good drinks at a NYE party? We immediately left the "ballroom" to look around the hotel. They have a beautiful area on the 12th floor near the check-in with a small bar, velvet chairs and games. The rooftop bar is decent as well. Now, for $100 and a long line at the party, you'd think maybe we could get a drink at one of these bars? Nope. Gotta pay up for those. We came back up there around 11 PM and they were packing it all up. No one was there, no one. Eventually deciding we needed a decent drink, we paid $60 for cocktails (in a plastic cup!) on the rooftop. Again, ONE bartender on NYE. Total for the night: $660 + fees and really nothing to eat. I shared all of my opinions with every manager I could find, wishing I was able to catch the woman that convinced me to come to this. Multiple people were complaining to them about the situation. The party was lame, the lines were long (they eventually added a bartender), the booze was cheap, and the "entertainment" dancers were awful. Hors D'oeuvres were three tiny items ($100 worth, eh?). Taste Bar has a great NYE event with an actual full open bar of their delicious cocktails and it's about the same price, just sells out very quickly. Here are my recommendations to the Angad, who had every change to WOW all of those guests, and fell absolutely flat: - Open the entire hotel to the party. All 3 bars and areas. The ballroom-style-only is old and lame. Be dynamic. - Serve actual premium liquor and make real drinks, not vodka/crans and gin/tonics with no name booze. Yuck. - Get burlesque dancers or drag queens or something actually entertaining. - Serve some sort of dessert or chocolate and more hors d'oeuvres - Hire a real event coordinator Props to employee Justin who commiserated with us, hypothesized a good party, showed us the green room suite and gave us some good laughs. Put him in charge. The GM of the "hotel side" also seemed concerned about all the issues but couldn't do anything about it. The organizers easily could have said "ok your wrist band gets you a drink at any of the 3 bars" and that would have greatly improved the evening. Alas, it fell flat and I don't think any attendees were impressed with the hotel. Onward and upward with future NYE parties. The rooftop bar has a great view and could potentially be lovely (turn on the outside lights, add a bartender on busy nights and warm up the outside with plants). read more

Nice modern hotel in the Theatre district - walking distance to SLU. New, clean, has a rooftop bar, has a restaurant with a renowned chef attached. Rooms were quiet on the 9th floor - which was green (you may know that each floor has a separate theme - rooms are green, red, yellow, or blue). Beds were comfortable. Pillows were nearly new and ideal. Interesting lighting - a moon rock for instance... Shower has high-end shampoo and soap. Definitely a boutique place with character. My only knock (keeping it from a 5) is the thermostat. You can't just "set it" to a temperature. We spent 20 minutes fiddling around moving it up then down then back up part way until we got it to stay at the temperature we wanted - trial and error... Oh yes... I see some people commented on the neighborhood. Just do the valet parking. You're fine during waking hours. Overnight - better to be protected. read more

If you love boutique hotels, this is a stand-out in St. Louis. Choose a guest room based on color that matches your emotion/mood. I picked green for refreshing. What I was most interested to experience was celebrity chef David Burke's new restaurant: Grand Tavern. I missed the opening by one night. But I was able to taste several of his starters in the rooftop bar and they were simply exquisite. I tried and loved the Clothes Line Bacon, Tuna Tartare and Hipster Fries. There are so many things to explore. Want to play a music instrument? Want to play an old school game? Want to see the St. Louis skyline? Check all three. Can't wait to return. Wow! read more

The caveat is that she put all she had into it! otherwise it would have been intolerable! A typical bar tender wouldn't even care. I would say most people that were up there left out of frustration. I went to the hotel for rooftop dining but as a bonus I got a great experience. This hotel Is full of beautiful art exhibits . It's everywhere you look I felt like I was in DC or even NYC . This would be a perfect staycation Now to the food Get the watermelon salad . Don't ask questions just get it . It's small but mighty . Packed with flavor I also had a mushroom flatbread it was delicious but needed a more crisp crust . My gf's & I were sooooo excited to do Sunday brunch at the rooftop a few weeks ago. The reservations were booked weeks in advance, the menu was studied, the mindset was mimosas/bloody Maries/champs. Annndddd.... We left- had an amazing brunch at The Bellwether! If customer service were a person, Angad would not have any friends. Sad deal. I really enjoyed my stay here at Angad. I found this hotel and wanted to check out the cute and kitschy place. I got a room with Hotels tonight and got a Green King room, picked randomly. The rooms are cute and nice. seem like very new. The staff is very nice and friendly. I loved checking out the rooftop bar for a drink. There is free wifi. I did use the parking lot and its $17 which is a bit much to me. The restaurant was unexpectedly closed the night we stayed so we don't get to try it. I would love to come back here again, its directly next door to the Powell Symphony Hall and across the street on Grand, is Fox Theatre. I am a local and pretty impressed with the cute place Angad is. My only complaint is the overwhelming smell of smoke and weed on the floor I was on and the smell was so bad it was seeping into my room as well. I was told its a no smoking hotel and you sign a paper at check in. Well obviously people break rules and the smell was so bad in my room from a neighboring room that I had to check out early. read more

The room was very gorgeous and the service at the restaurant was amazing but the disappointment in parking. The lack of care when we call up to the receptionist to tell her about the car being broke into and along with 7 other cars, she seemed to have lack of guidance to what we needed. We had to call back to get any information about what to do and if management was going to follow up. Parking does not have cameras in their lots. Just be cautious. read more

The Angad rooftop is nice. Great for a laid back date night. The crowd was diverse regarding age and race. I'm sure the music depends on the DJ but Lamar Harris / DJ Nune's set is always enjoyable. He reads the crowd and he brings instruments to switch it up They could improve the menu. It was very small. Two burger. Hi iced and maybe three other items were on the list. (Shame on the shrimp kabobs for only having three shrimp for $18! That's ridiculous.) And the outside bar was super smokey. Our clothes and hair smelled like a grill after standing in the long line. You can avoid that by using the inside bar. Overall for the views alone, I'd come back! read more
