    Pool visibly filthy.

Hotel seems nice. Beds ok. Room ok. Location is really nice. But the pool is disgusting. Obviously dirty to start. And had lots of visible floating hair, some attached to a bandaid. Ladders were falling apart. I had to let my kids swim anyway, but yuck. Deep clean showers immediately after. It's a 4 star hotel with a 1 star pool.

I picked this location based on our travel destination. The hotel is in great condition and is well kept by the staff. Lots of cool areas to gather, including some wonderful outside courtyards. The breakfast selections were very fresh and attendant working was constantly replenishing and refreshing items.parking was easy. The front desk staff gave us a great recommendation for a quick dinner right around the corner. The rooftop bar is outstanding and a great place to have a drink and socialize.

We utilized Element Hotel for our wedding hotel block and it was great! The largest reason we chose the hotel, other than a great location, was for the Studio Commons space. The common space has (4) separate king guest room connected that my out of town bridal party used. The bridal party used the common space to get ready - it was perfect for us! It has a living room, kitchen, and a large bar height table with tons of outlets that is great for getting ready (and very nice looking for photos!). Robyn helped us coordinate the block and she was very helpful and responsive, and even kept us updated as the block filled up in case we wanted to increase the reservations. The rooms were all very nice and clean, plus the breakfast was healthy, and the bar seemed to be well used by our guests after the wedding! We would recommend Element Hotel!

If it wasn't for the attitude of the night crew host I would have given this hotel 5 stars, but honestly he was so rude I'm not sure how nobody has complained about him before. When we first checked in there was a lady who greeted us and assisted us with getting squared away. We found our rooms which were beautiful and spacious!! Definitely one of the better Marriott's I've stayed in. Well for whatever reason our toilet overflowed after my baby girl flushed, I'm sure it was Mi Amor fault but whatever, it overflowed and I called down to the front desk for assistance. When I tell you that night nurse was rude as hell for no reason.....I almost hung up on him except I needed him. Luckily for him the man who showed up to assist (thankfully not him) was AMAZING!!! He did show a little poor judgement implying someone would mop the floors in the morning, but when I asked about getting it handled now he did it himself and I was grateful. The room we stayed in had 2 queen beds, a sofa (which looked like a pullout), a full bathroom (of course), and a kitchenette space that was stocked. This was the first Marriott with a kitchenette that came stocked and it was great! The room had a modern updated feel and had plenty of light. There was a bar upstairs which closed early (in my opinion) on a Friday, 11:30 to be exact and the drinks where decent! I had tequila based drink which had a beautiful presentation and didn't taste too bad (just a little sweet for my preference). I really wanted the mezcal based drink but they were out of mezcal. I was very disappointed, but who knows maybe it's hard to get. If I'm ever in the St Louis area again I would definitely pick here to stay. It was by far one of the better hotel experience I have had, even with the night hosts poor attitude).

But to stay here last minute, and they were very accommodating. Front desk was very quick to respond to any concerns that we had with needing items in the room. They had complementary breakfast which you had to go up to a kind of grill to ask for certain items, which I personally like to because people won't take as much as they need, they do have a pool that is covered, and a really great outdoor area. Outdoor area. The up bar is located on the 7th floor and had a different area for the rooms that are on the 7th floor that you can't hear the music or anything.

Nice hotel. Nice staff. Very clean. Delicious complimentary Breakfast every morning. (Chef Colisha was GREAT) Nice rooftop bar. Indoor year round pool. Decent gym. Courtyard (didn't experience due to the snow, looked nice) Netflix equipped tv with complimentary HBO and Showtime. Kitchenette (no oven) with sink, dishwasher, two burner stove, microwave, apartment size refrigerator. Equipped with pots and pans, strainer, quality dishes and utensils. Excellent stay overall. Made my very first visit to St. Louis and the Midwest amazing.

Small living room area for King Suite 1 room.

Nice clean rooms. The bar on top floor is super loud at least staying on the 6th floor. The bathroom sink is really shallow and awkward.

    Upstairs at the Cheshire

    (1 review)

    Hi-Pointe

Overall the experience we had with hosting our wedding reception at the Upstairs was quite good…read more I had been to a fantastic Yelp event at the Cheshire, where we got to tour and taste our way through all of the fantastic spots on the Cheshire property. I already knew the Upstairs was a gorgeous space with warm textured wooded walls and beautiful imported lighting fixtures. When we began the process of planning for our wedding reception, we were already staying at the Cheshire (taking a Brit to the British hotel when he's in town visiting is the way to make him feel at home, right?), already, so we decided to see if we could see the space as a possibility for our celebration. We had a few other ideas of locations, but we loved the Cheshire. It felt so right to us. The room is split into two distinct spaces. I requested that all of the guest tables (we had 60 guests) remain on the side of the room with the wood paneling, light fixtures and windows. The dance floor and DJ were set-up on the other side. The space would absolutely accommodate more guests, but it didn't seem ridiculous to have so few. They let us use their mirrored chargers and votives for the tables, and we brought in vases of flowers with our own table numbers on them. Originally, we were set to have our happy hour in the fireplace room, which is still on the second floor, but outside of the ballroom. When Lucy abruptly left, she was replaced by Karina, who very kindle advised us that the Red Room downstairs was not being used on the night of our event, so we had our cocktail hour and hors dourves downstairs. It was perfect because this meant we could easily stand near the door to greet the guests as they arrived, and then when it was time to go upstairs, it was a whole new venue. This allowed us to have our evening bar, place card table, gift table and even a selfie photo booth in the fireplace room. It was perfect. We set-up our cake on a table on the dance floor, which if I had to do it again, would have in the fireplace room or closer to the entry somehow, as many of our guests reportedly never say the cake prior to us going to cut it... and it was a gorgeous cake and deserved to be seen. I didn't enjoy the experience of working with Lucy, as I felt like she wasn't very friendly and didn't make us feel important at all. Working with Karina was much nicer. Because we live in London, and were finalising details from home, she went out of her way to set-up a Skype call to introduce herself and go over things. I have very few complaints about our event, but I had been told that the tables would be set the morning of the event or the day prior. To me, "set" meant that there would be linens, plates, glasses, and silverware on the tables. Chris and I picked up our cake and delivered it to the ballroom ourselves at 1:30pm. Nothing was set at all. The tables were in the room, but there weren't linens or anything else. I have to admit that I started to panic a teensy bit. We were told that we could come in at 3:00pm to set the centerpieces and our other pieces. We all had planned to do this and then go get ready at the hotel. Apparently the wrong colour linens had been delivered and were moments from arrival. I was assured that by 3:00pm, this would be rectified. We arrived to set everything up, and still nothing had been done. They said that no one would be there until 4:00pm to set-up. They asked what I wanted to happen, and I said that I needed the tablecloths to be on the table so we could get the center pieces arranged. They did that, and we set-up the cake table, selfie booth and the place card table in the meantime. They offered to let us leave the flowers and things for them to arrange, but of course I wanted us to do it. The second thing that bothered me was regarding the cake. When it was taken away and cut, they brought out random slices and strew them over the tables. I had anticipated that they would put them out so people could take a piece if they wished. This meant a lot of cake was wasted with people not eating it, or not being able to choose what was given to them. We had been looking forward to the strawberry cake for months. We were so busy that we left our plates on the table to join our friends. We had every intention of coming back to them. Our plates were cleared after I'd had two bites and Chris hadn't had even a taste. They also took the Champagne he'd been saving. In my opinion, we should have been asked if it was okay to do this. We did get the leftover cake sent home with us, but there wasn't any strawberry. I'm still sad about this weeks later. My third and final complaint is that all of the place cards were taken and disposed of. I had every intention of keeping ours for a scrapbook. At the end of the day, I would highly recommend this venue. Our guests were pleased with the staff, everyone was blown away by the food, the venue was beautiful and unique and it was an overall good experience.

The wedding I went to there was great, with pretty much no thanks to the venue. The "light show"…read moreduring dancing was awkward at best. The two men's room toilets had no door and no walls, respectively. One lady's room stall had a view into the kitchen. Most glaring, the in-house DJ was awful. Right after the first dance, he decided, without permission or even awareness from the newlyweds, to play some sort of elaborate military tribute. It colored the whole rest of the night, and not in a positive way. During the night, he just looked so upset to be there. At the end of the night, he chimed in to warn drivers away from a certain neighborhood in the area, claiming it was the "Ferguson of South County", a pretty clearly racist statement. If you rent this space, make sure the bathrooms are fixed first, and definitely bring your own DJ.

Attended a friend's wedding reception here, some pros and cons:…read more Pros: * Prices are competitive for venue rental, a DJ and bartender are included in the price * They appear to have no restrictions on external caterers * Far as I could tell, the owner (also the DJ), had everything set up on time, and the venue decor (medieval German kitsch - lots of dark stained wood trim, fake stained glass, and photos of Neuschwanstein) was delightful Cons: * Bathrooms are weird: men's bathroom has two sit-down toilets completely open to the room, one dividing wall but no doors, women's bathroom was 'vaguely creepy' * As the first song after the couple's first dance, DJ/Owner blared an orchestral rendition of 'Dixie' complete with slideshow of Confederate war veterans and climactic unfurling of the (modern) U.S. flag, to 'honor veterans, police and firefighters' - totally lost the room, made a lot of people uncomfortable Bottom line: great for the price, if they made it easier to poop, and picked a less *frightening* song to honor the troops (maybe try Toby Keith or Faith Hill next time?) would be an easy 5-star.
