They did say that I was down a couple of pounds of antifreeze which was fine for me and he decided to look at my thermostat and found that there was a hole behind it and that's what was causing the air conditioning to come on and off. When I called iAire, they immediately confirmed the sensor is not proprietary and that generic replacements are compatible. These are cheap and widely available online. Ranger told us they were not comfortable working on our unit and that we would need to find someone else. I'm frustrated that this was not communicated upfront, especially after we waited days in the Florida heat for answers. If the company is unwilling to service smaller brands or use generic parts, they should have told us during the initial visit instead of leaving us in limbo. When I tried to express any dissatisfaction with the situation, their phone rep repeatedly interrupted and talked over me, and I could barely get a sentence out. When I spoke with my fiancé later, he told me he had been treated the same way. I'm not happy with the poor communication, lack of service, and unwillingness to listen.
