About a year or two ago ranger air came out and identified a problem with my air conditioner and fixed it but told me the system was getting to the point of its end life. About a month and a half ago I had them replace the entire system and they did so. However, they're coming out tomorrow for the fifth time to replace leaking mastic in the handler. They sent the same person out for the first three times and a supervisor for the 4th and who knows tomorrow for the 5th. The handler is literally dripping water into the drywall in our home. I'm going to give them one last attempt and then I'm going to hire a third party and go to small claims court to have someone else who is competent in air conditioning to repair the air issue. Tomorrow will be the fifth attempt to solve the issue and hopefully they will agree to repair the damage called to the drywall. I will amend my review if this gets resolved. One more attempt and a third party will be paid to finally end this dispute read more

Our AC went out, and this company diagnosed it as a failed T4 sensor and told us it would be a simple fix once the part was ordered. After waiting several days, we were told they couldn't find the part, had never heard of our unit brand (iAire), and to contact the manufacturer. When I called iAire, they immediately confirmed the sensor is not proprietary and that generic replacements are compatible. These are cheap and widely available online. Ranger told us they were not comfortable working on our unit and that we would need to find someone else. I'm frustrated that this was not communicated upfront, especially after we waited days in the Florida heat for answers. If the company is unwilling to service smaller brands or use generic parts, they should have told us during the initial visit instead of leaving us in limbo. When I tried to express any dissatisfaction with the situation, their phone rep repeatedly interrupted and talked over me, and I could barely get a sentence out. When I spoke with my fiancé later, he told me he had been treated the same way. I'm not happy with the poor communication, lack of service, and unwillingness to listen. They took our money and dropped us, gave us a headache, and now we will have to pay someone else to come and fix the issue. This was really poor customer service. They justified this by blaming everything on our "cheap, offbrand" unit and have made no attempt to make things right with us. They have not stood behind their own values. You can see from their responses to upset reviewers that they do not take ownership when they let their customers down and find any way to shift the responsibility for their mistakes. Shameful. Found out later that one should avoid using bleach to clean AC drain pipe. Bleach should not be used as it can corrode the PVC pipes including the glue used at connection points resulting in an expensive repair .Using a cup of plain white vinegar then waiting 30 minutes followed by flushing with a couple of cups of warm (not hot) water or a whole gallon is recommended per all the videos and reading I've done since original review. Doing this monthly can help prevent mold and bacteria growth. There are several videos on You Tube to guide this process. I'm just a customer, I don't work in the AC trade but Just wanted to pass this on. read more

They did our new construction. They did not glue the drain pipes or test the drain pipes. The first floor of our house is flooding. They are trying to not fix it. Jerry you need to make this right. Where do I begin other than to say that this team is amazing!? Jerry squeezed me in for an appointment when my AC was down and he was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. I asked him a million questions in person and via email and he always had an answer for me. Because of my interactions with Jerry and that his bid was so competitive, I decided to move forward with using him for my condenser replacement. He PERMITS HIS WORK- other companies were willing to do a condenser without a permit and that's not great. Joey showed up for the removal and installation and he was a joy to work with. So professional, very transparent, stayed well beyond his normal hours to complete the job. There was a mix-up with the model and they went above and beyond to get the other one (this required like 2-3hrs of driving to pick it up) and still installed it on the same day. I was in tears because they did so much to expedite this for me and took amazing care of me the whole way. Joey was even lovely with my toddler who was super-"helpful" during the installation. When other companies would've dropped the ball, Ranger exceeded my expectations. I truly can't thank the entire team enough for everything. I chose Ranger Air and Heat to service my a/c based on their positive reviews and because they are veteran-owned. I had them out to do a bi-annual service on my a/c unit. The tech was very thorough and did a good job. I mentioned to the tech that my air handler drip line regularly clogged due to microbial growth, requiring me to have to pour vinegar and clear the line with a shop vac every month or else the line would clog. After inspecting the line, the tech said he didn't like the PVC configuration coming out of the air handler and suggested some corrections that could improve the drainage. I agreed to the work, which included installing a new overflow switch and relocating it. The tech said to do nothing with the system moving forward and see if the drainage improved. Fast forward three weeks and I noticed water overflowing all around the air handler. The drip line had clogged and the overflow switch failed to shut off the system, causing water damage in my kitchen. They came back out and replaced the overflow switch. When I expressed my exasperation with this, the owner offered to refund half of my service agreement fee and to part ways, which I agreed to. I soon after noticed that the new drip line was leaking water onto my garage floor. I called Able Air to come out and inspect the drip line. They said the PVC joints had not been glued, which allowed water to leak out. They glued the segments of PVC and solved the issue. My takeaway: While Ranger Air and Heat's mission may be "honor, respect, integrity," they lack in professional wisdom. In fact, virtually all the work and recommendations offered/done by Ranger Air and Heat turned out to be poisonous to my a/c unit and home. Others may have had a good experience with them, but that, unfortunately, was not my experience. read more

He was on time, appropriately dressed for a professional job, and surprisingly nimble. He says he could still complete The Jungle Rope Course at Ranger School and I believe him! He could've let it slide and used it to make money in the future, but he is a class act and informed me of all the "tricks and trades of air and heat in Florida." Ranger has been our A/C service since we bought our house back in 2019. 2 seasonal checkups, and duct cleaning. All extremely well priced, and performed beyond expectations. If you have allergies, and anyone tells you duct cleaning isn't going to help, they lied. These guys came in, cleaned well beyond what I thought was going to happen and both of us breathe easier and no red eyes. The previous homeowner had cats and dogs in the house. As far as customer service goes, non better! I have called twice when they were closed, just to leave a message. Both times were on Saturday. Both times the OWNER called me back to make sure we'd be comfortable until they could get there. Jerry and his team are fantastic! I've been managing my family's house from California and on a visit in March, I arrived to find out that the upstairs air conditioning was not working. It was replaced in 2018, so I contacted the original company who installed it and received an astronomical quote from the technician without a clear rationale. That's when I found Ranger on Yelp. Jerry came out for an assessment and was able to do the repair for the cost of the diagnostic (which was already a very reasonable rate). He saved me thousands of dollars and better yet, I now have a trustworthy HVAC expert when I need one, which is critical when managing a house from afar. I called Ranger Air & Heat because of a filter issue we've been having. The receptionist was very nice and seemed to understand my issues I was having. I have an electronic filter that needs to be put in a certain way with a pin that goes through the electric part on the filter. I also needed new filters for this unit. So two technicians showed up and basically took the filter out and after I showed the older tech the missing pin he just ignored me. He plugged it back in and told me it was working. I said yes the lights are on but it's not doing what it's supposed to. He argued that the filter was working right. I saw I was at a dead end with this guy at that point. He found filters on Amazon that he said would work. I said they would not work because they need to have an electrical strip in them. He argued again. I also wanted to establish a bi-yearly service with them but this encounter totally changed my mind. They charged me $125.00 to come out and let me know my light on the filter was working. I paid them as the only thing I could do after all this. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Just the attitude and ignoring me was all I needed. I called Ranger A & H bc of the glowing reviews on Yelp! Two men arrived at my house to look at and estimate the job that I needed to be done - replace all damaged A/C ducts in my attic. After going into my attic, speaking to each other in Spanish while in front of me, acting frustrated and upset about having to be here at all to look at this job, I was informed how difficult replacing the ducts would be. I was told someone from the office would call me. Two days later, I was notified by a front office employee that replacing my A/C ducts was not something that Ranger Air and Heat was capable of doing. I wish i had known this before I wasted my day waiting for their employees to show up during their pre-determined time frame and going through the time and trouble of opening the attic for them to inspect. As you can see from my original review, I was previously happy with the service I received from Ranger, however I came to find out that their diagnosis/solution was inaccurate. After installing new, high quality black out curtains (as Ranger diagnosed my air conditioner as fine and told me my windows were actually the issue), I noticed not only no improvement, but that my house was getting hotter each day. I decided to reach out to another A/C repair company. Within 5 minutes, the technician showed me a picture of my evaporator coil: completely clogged. He was dumbfounded that Ranger didn't see this issue immediately. He asked if Ranger went into my attic. I told him they did not. He went into my attic and saw that there was a 3 foot hole in my duct work. I was literally cooling my attic. He informed me my evaporator coil was still under warranty (this year being its last), picked up the part on my behalf, installed it the next day and replaced the duct work. Weeks later and I still have a cool house. I emailed Ranger to inform them of their inaccurate diagnosis/solution and never got a response. I'm glad others on Yelp had great service from Ranger, but my service was a complete waste of time and money. read more

I agreed to their quote of $750 ($350 labor and $400 in parts), but was very surprised that he completed the job in only 40 minutes. I later checked with another company with 5 star Yelp ratings for the same job and they quoted me $485 ($85 labor and $400 parts). Don't trust them. I asked for an estimate on a maintenance plan on my A/C unit, two Cubans non English speaking show up, with no paperwork, but a bag full of tools ready to pry around my HVAC. SO I called the office to let them know I don't need any maintenance today necessarily, just an overview of a 2x a year visit to look over my 4 year old unit, and she was rude and abrupt with a Cuban accent, said she would mail me an agreement because the 2 guys at my house didn't have one.
