I read terrible reviews about these people, but I ignored them because this is the closest place to my home. So I figured I would give her a try. Not only was she tardy and rude, but she'a also a hustler. This was my first time meeting her and she told me she would increase the price of the wig, so that my insurance will pay more, and I will have less of a deductible. If she's willing to lie/steal from them, then she's willing to lie/steal from me as well! She's heartless, and has no compassion for cancer patients who are already going through enough.

The woman who took my appointment was so friendly and thoughtful. After hearing about my hair type, she recommended Dora, an experienced stylist who she felt would be a perfect fit. That was so appreciated, and it showed me the salon truly cares about its clients. When I met Dora, we instantly clicked. It felt like we had known each other for years, and our conversation flowed so easily. It's a rare and wonderful thing to find a hairdresser you connect with on that level. She made me feel so comfortable and we talked about anything and everything. The salon itself is beautiful--newly remodeled and much larger than my old one. I love the layout; there are spots for clients to chat, but the chairs are also spaced out enough for a sense of privacy. Dora is not only a fantastic stylist but also a great person. She listened to all my stories and even offered some great advice. She also suggested darkening my hair a bit, which has made my eyes pop. It's a great example of her expertise and creativity--my previous hairdresser, who was an expert in her own right, never even mentioned a change like that. I don't complain about this, it is unlimited. I can come as many times a month as I choose. They are never on time. For a 35-minute service, I allow 2 hours. I blow my own hair. I have accepted this because of the price. At my last appointment, on 5/28 they were short-staffed. The location was dirty. There was hair all over the floor. The counter tops were dirty. The bathroom was overflowing with dirty paper towels. They were out of cotton discs and color remover for your skin. The schedule was 40 minutes behind. No one complained. They offered an option to reschedule to people. But today.... I was 15 minutes late. Yes, I was. AND I was told my appointment was cancelled. I drove 45 minutes from home as I had done 30 times and was turned away. I asked for the color to do it at home and was told NO. I have an unlimited membership for a year and 3 months. But NO. So, I don't recommend Madison Reed. The color fades fast, the location is filthy, and they are always late. Their customer service... well, not too good either.
