This is located in the Sunset area of SF, and street parking, and she has two businesses, but it's right up the stairs to the left. Angela recommended the right facial for my skin type, and my skin felt noticeably better afterward. They also took before and after pictures, which was a nice touch and helped show the results. I have been using the cosmetic products of mernard line: day cream, night cream, serum and eye cream... for 6 months and I'm quite happy with the result. My skin is getting better more smooth and balance. The cream absorb much better. The texture is so refreshing and hydrating on my face. It makes skin feel amazingly soft, tighten and reduce wrinkles. This hole in the wall place has been operating in SF for over 10 years. They are definitely very experienced and know what they're doing. My skin is quite dry this time of the year, so I was recommended to get the spa face soothing facial treatment. It was well worth it. The treatment involves using blue light and a special face mask which not only moistures the skin, but whitens it up a bit. My face looked so healthy after! After the treatment, I was given a cup of healthy tea that had been brewed for hours. The tea you are given depends on the type of treatment you get. Tried for the first time and really felt the difference from the first visit! They greeted me with a warm welcome before going through the procedure clearly. From there, the room I was led into was very comfortable and I was instructed to lay down to start the process. The process was very simple, and afterward the staff would show me the difference of the before and after. Seeing the comparison, I tell that my skin looked more healthy and much better. They instructed me on how to take care of my skin, and also gave me products to use for at home use. The staff also gave me advice on what to eat more, and gave me lovely herbal tea and biscuits to eat. Overall, the service here was amazing, as well as the results of better skin. I've had acne for two decades now, and nothing has cleared up my skin as well as this spa has. I've tried everything under the sun for my skin (homemade remedies, diet changes, oral and topical dermatologist prescriptions, luxury and drugstore items) and none of it actually took care of the root problem. I've had two facials at Angel Face so far and it's the longest my skin has stayed blemish-free, plus my acne scars are significantly faded. This is also in part due to some of the products I purchased from there, especially the TK face wash cream. On top of the quality of the facials, you also get a scalp, neck, and shoulders massage with each facial that is heavenly. I have only visited this establishment once. I think the massage was average. The more major issue I had was their business model. As some other reviews point out, they try to sell you packages of 5 or 10 services, which is fine and I often give in easily to these kinds of deals. However, the way they approach customers with it was very uncomfortable for me. I personally think I have pretty good skin, but when the owner Angela examined my face as she was pushing the package on me, she said that my face looked "dirty", that the salon I frequent wasn't good and that I should start going to them beause they could do a better job. Ok even if I was delusional and truly didn't have good skin, that is a horrible thing to say! Not to mention I initially went there for a special and she already pushed me to pay extra for an upgrade (I do give in easily to these things...). Finally, as I was leaving I said I would have to think about the package, and will come back next time for it if I decide I want it. Hearing this Angela decided to try to coerce me one more time, and said there wouldn't be a next time because the package was only available for purchase today since they were doing a mother's day special. I had a deep cleansing facia (90 minutes/ $75), however, because I have sensitive skin type, they recommended me to upgrade to the $85 one which uses products that are specific for my skin type. I've been coming here for a year and purchased the 10 series package. Considering that I am a true facial connoisseur (tried every place in SF & Bay Area for 20 years), my review is unbiased. The reason why I'm not giving this 4 or 5 stars is because of their hard sales tactic. Here is my detailed review: 5 stars for facial technique 2 stars for being EXTREMELY pushy with products to where I finally gave in and purchased the eye cream for $150 AND it works just as well as the eye cream from Walgreens (L'oreal) for $13.99! Waste of money! 2 stars for being extremely pushy with renewing my package (when I still had 4x left) When does it ever end?? If you've read my previous reviews then you will know that I am huge on facials and since moving to SF I've been in search for the right facial place @ the right price. I called and got an appointment the same day to come in with my BF. It would be his first time getting a facial since I kept telling him how good facials are for your skin. Angela was really nice upon our arrival and she greeted me and my boyfriend and had us go into our rooms to change. Her associate had did my boyfriend and I was done by her. So here are the reviews of the facials based on what I had received: Angela was really nice and tried to explain everything that she was doing to me { The Process } She did cleansing twice, exfoliating scrub, steam, extractions and then a thin layer mask with LED light to kill off bacteria that may cause infection or create acne, followed by the collagen mask. Included were also back, neck { Things I Liked } The extractions were good. She got the major ones out of my forehead that my previous facial about a week ago in LA at MiSarang failed to do. The extractions part and her ability to have cleaned up what the other facialist is a huge reason why I've given Angel Face 3.5 stars { Things that I didn't like } - Mid way into the facial Angela had told me that I should do a facial treatment that is $85 even though I had originally called in for a $55 European Collagen and then when I arrived she told me to get the deep pore cleansing with my boyfriend at $65. This becomes a problem because when you're already laying down and getting your face worked on it's a little hard to say no to something like this. So I just went with it thinking there would be something amazing or different about the facial, but there wasn't anything to be worth the extra $20 compared to the deep cleansing. I was really looking for good extractions and I think the deep cleansing would have been enough. - When she was removing my eye makeup, which is waterproof she notes that my under eyes are really dark and shows me in the mirror how it is darker than my skin tone, but this was in fact because the makeup wasn't taken fully off. My skin isn't too bad and every time I cleanse my face on my own my dull skin always looks brighter and clean, so I know it wasn't because I was tired or because it was really that bad. My daily routine includes oil cleanser around my eyes to remove the waterproof makeup, which then makes my eyes look like a panda. Then it is followed by a 1-2 minute cleansing massage. After I'm done my skin looks fresh, even in tone and definitely not with black - The other thing that kind of bugged me was that it seemed like I got a changing top that was already used before/old. I am not sure if it is but it looked a dirty and it was loose. I felt uncomfortable wearing it. Other places that I've been too had fresh new ones to wear after each clients (there were always baskets to dispose your towel tops) - The body massage was painful. I am not really into massages so this was worst. She was going really hard at it and especially around the neck area. This ended up become sore the next day when I woke up :( - I think I should have been prepared for this since I did read other reviews about it , but Angela did seem very pressing to have me and my boyfriend purchase a package and when we weren't interested in the packages she seemed really disappointed. I would come back here again for facials, but I think I would only do the $55 or the $65 facial. I'm going to check out a couple of other places still in the area before I call this place my it place. Although it seems like there are more cons than pros, Angela did do the best job with cleaning up your skin when it comes to extractions (compared to Beauty Queen and Facial Plus), which are the most important part to me. read more

Went to my first treatment with Angela a few weeks ago and it was pleasant. She's very nice and maybe because it was my first treatment, she explained EVERYTHING. Sometimes that was good, sometimes I really didn't know if she expected me to answer questions with all the stuff on my face. She talked a lot and asked a lot of questions about me, maybe so she could get a better idea of what type of environment I'm in or if I could really afford the package she sells. I had a lovely experience until she was trying hard to sell me her 10 treatment package for $550. I know if you calculated it the treatments are inexpensive at $55 for 90 minutes, but I don't like hard sells. At first when I said no, she ask why? Why not today? I just want to save you money. I'm now a dedicated customer because: - Angela and her team transformed my skin and worked magic on my dark circles - Treatments (90 min) are tailored to your needs every session, not a cookie cutter experience - Everyone here has excellent extraction technique (thorough, not too painful, I never break out after) - They give amazing (and generous for a facial) massages that are also tailored each time - The suggested products are very effective if you listen to instructions & take Angela's advice I had annoying under-the-jawline cystic acne that I was nervous about having "extracted". Angela confidently worked on it during one facial, recommended an herbal acne cream, and it virtually disappeared. It hasn't come back! Even during my period! Angela will not hold back telling you the effects of your lifestyle on your skin, which I appreciate: "You need to go to bed earlier. Stop eating sugar." She's 100% right, and when I'm "good" ;) and listen to her advice, I see results. I have no problem with her suggesting products or promoting packages to customers - I'm happy to support a female business owner doing excellent work with great customer service. So I bought a package and have been there a handful of times. I've had MANY facials in my lifetime and I think this place does a pretty good job for the price and it's super close to my house. I've seen some negative reviews about the "hard sell", I don't really think that is negative. I appreciate a solid sales effort, it's called business. If you don't like a hard sell you can say "please don't ask again, I will let you know if I want to buy a package". The 3.5 stars is because I think they have pretty good techniques, the place is small and cluttered, not very relaxing, noisy, but the price is fair. I'm the type of person who likes to know what is being done to my face. Angela was very informative, honest, friendly and professional. I expressed my concerns and she really took her time to address my problem areas. We just straight into it and I got the full 90-minutes. I did read the reviews before going in, was expecting Angela to push on the packages and was ready to decline. However, I did not find her pushy at all! She simply stated her recommendations and offered the packages (i.e. 5 facials for $300 or 10 facials for $550). I opted for the 10 facials because it was too good of a deal to pass up and I really liked her services. It was a lot more than I expected spend today, but hey...it's a good investment...my face is so clean! She also recommended a serum to address one of my problems (being sold for $80)...I politely declined and that was the end of it...no pushing or shoving by Angela. Not only does she remember every detail about the way my skin works, but also notices if I have any change in my skin care routine (without even telling her!) One of my friends has been going to Angel Face for a while now and recommended Angela. I have never received a facial before, but wanted to try. I was really nervous, but Angela ended up being so amazing! She was super gentle and the facial treatment was super relaxing. There is a small amount of discomfort when she's doing the pore extraction portion of the facial, but I've done different types of body waxing, so the slight discomfort was nothing. There was also a mini shoulder massage, which was icing on the cake! Angela was so wonderful guiding me through the treatment and giving me advice on how to take better care of my skin. Afterwards, my face had an awesome glow and has continued to look good days after.
