I gave this place another chance today because my regular nail girl - Tina at TT Nail Salon was in Vietnam. Well I really regret that I did. Uneven bumpy nails - filed incorrectly and spoke about me behind my back the whole time because they thought I can't understand their language. I've established this nail salon as my go-to in the city. I've come here a few times now and definitely a place that is consistent and one that you can trust. I mainly get gel manicures but have also gotten regular pedicures before. My gel manicure from here usually lasts up to 4 weeks which is really good. I always get compliments from people too! The color selection is extensive, and they have a pretty wide variety of cat eye and chrome which is what I like to get if I'm feeling fancy. Regular color gel manicures are $45 before tip whereas cat eye/chrome are $60 before tip. Good prices for SF! The staff here also work pretty fast while still maintaining quality. It's also easy to book a same day reservation over the phone. The environment is kept clean. They don't have many tables for manicurists so if there is flow over, they'll seat you on their pedicure/massage chairs to do a manicure which was never a big problem. If you're in the Richmond area, come take a visit! It's a good service at a good price point and definitely cheaper than other parts of the city. read more

I'm not a person who has my nails done on the regular but this has always been my go-to salon! They are always pleasant and do a great job. Recently, I was that pain in the ass customer who couldn't figure out the correct color to have my nails done for an upcoming event. After having my nails done and kind of re-worked, they were still not the right color. I was ready to leave it go as-is, but the owner stepped in to finish up (and let her staff take lunch) and could tell they weren't how I wanted them. She insisted that she redo my nail color-she went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the end result. The first couple times they did a good job. And they are very nice . Last couple of times is been a bad experience the technician Bea cut my cuticle and I bleed. The second time the same thing happened with the other technician. Yesterday I came to get a pedicure to go on vacation, I told them I was going my vacation. I bring my own nail polish this time I chose white , also selected nail designs stickers. Simple . when she put it she messed up the nail polish and she wanted to add more polish which it would have taken much longer to dry . I had already been at the salon two hours. I told them I didn't have time because I couldn't extend my parking spot anymore. So I went home . I was very disappointed looking at my pretty toes less than perfect. But I was going to keep it. Mind you I was getting ready to leave on my vacation that night. That morning I was sweeping my kitchen floor and the nail decal was on the floor. Later that day I went in to have them fix it and they were swamped! Anyway ! I am going to pay the $150 dollars that the Russian place down the street. They do a fantastic job and it lasts for a long time and it stays looking great longer month! So I guess you get what you pay for even though the pedicure at Richmond nails is not cheap! $65 dollars for just plain pedi and extra 15 minutes massage and $5 for the decals. Also they skipped my foot scrub . The $65 does not include the $10 tip I just read some of the comments here , so I am not the only one who has been injured here . And I think it maybe whom you get ? But they have not been consistent. They paint my nails too Thomas say is the polish I bring in. My conclusion is that depending on the day and the type of nails. My feet and nails are very healthy and they don't need much but I do instruct them to pay special attention to my cuticles. So it depends also on the condition of one's nails. I debated whether to post this comment or not because the ladies are nice . But nice does not make me feel pretty and confident. I come there very casual. Maybe that's other reason they take me for granted. Also I dislike very much when at the nail salons they talk in Vietnamese and I can tell sometimes they talk about the clients. And let me tell you they don't come to play when it comes to attention to detail with your cuticles. My gel manicures typically last up to 3 weeks and don't really peel whatsoever towards the last week. The atmosphere here is very relaxing and it feels spa-like so extra bonus points for that. I finally came back here for a gel mani and pedi after a couple of years! I've always had a great experience, but I think this time I would reconsider. I didn't have any nail polish prior to the nail appointment and even so, the appointment was 2+ hours. I asked for a Gel mani with a design. I've had designs done here before so I didn't think it would be a problem. She started to work on the design on one nail but after 30 minutes I suggested a simpler design - french gel with a simple extra line across the nail. She goes on to blame my nails for being too short for the design so that is why she couldn't complete the design. (I don't think that was necessary to blame the customer). Even with the simple line, I was there for an extra hour. The lines were slightly crooked and she forgot to wipe down the last layer of polish so my nails felt sticky. She was very patient and persistent with working on my nails. After 3 weeks, my gel nails were still going strong. The pedicure was a good experience. Overall, not happy since I don't get a manicure often, I would say I had an okay experience after coming here for a couple of years. read more

I've been coming here for mani pedi for 8 years. Yesterday really made me reconsider joining my friend at another shop. I had two newbies working on me. Gel mani - I went in with my nails over grown so they can fix it. I requested for short, square with curved edges. She cut them and then made them really ROUND. I was observing how round her nails were, which prompt me to speak up. So because my nails were cut short, there was no nail left to fix! I was a bit annoyed because a gel mani is now $35. I was super unhappy with it already and then when I finished, the right thumb is missing polish , left pinky has missing polish on the edge and my nails are SO SHORT. Pedicure - initially she couldn't figure out why my feet couldn't reach the water, someone else has to tell her to get another block. The cut and color are fine, however, the lady forgot the top coat, thankfully came back to put it on. I've been coming here for years and they're consistent every single time. My manicures always last 3+ weeks (I'm sure they could last for longer but I can't stand it when my nails are super long). I don't request anyone specific, but I always call at least a couple hrs in advance for an appointment. They're good about telling me if they're too busy at the moment - aka they respect booked appointments. I get dip or gel manicures, reg pedicures, and sometimes designs if I'm feeling extra they're amazing at taking a photo and re-creating. This place was okay! I got great treatment for my nails and they looked nice. I got a gel manicure. I was SUPER bummed that the nails started to fall apart in about 2-3 days. :( It did not last long at all and another salon I had gone to was great in that my nails lasted almost 3 weeks. The staff were really nice here. The interior is a little rough looking but it's very clean overall. I don't know if I'd go back just because of my experience with the gel manicure. I honestly only come here because it's close by my work. I've been here many times to get gel manicures or gel pedicures. And once to get my acrylic nails removed but NEVER AGAIN. Here are my reasons why: If you're young or young looking they will most likely not treat you with good customer service because they think you won't tip them well. This has happened to me many times before. Every time I walk into the store, I never get greeted nicely. It's always "what do you want?". Sometimes they'll even service others (white women) who came in after me. Or maybe they made an appointment but who knows. Despite the many times of poor customer service, I still tip really good because I know the nail technicians rely on tips. Another incident. I came here wanting to get a regular gel manicure. As the nail technician is doing my nails, she accidentally files my skin and it starts bleeding. She sees it and doesn't say anything until I noticed. I pointed it out to her and she starts getting annoyed. She then proceeds to grab my hand and show/tell her coworkers that my eczema had caused it. Plus she didn't even apologize. I came in before asking if they do removal of acrylic nails. The boss looked at my pretty annoyed and said yes and for me to take a seat. She came over to look at my nails and STARTING PRYING THEM OFF WITH A NAIL CLIPPER. The shy me was too scared to say anything. She eventually makes a dent in my nail bed with the nail clipper and it starts bleeding inside. It obviously hurt so I made a sound and kindly told her if she could take it off the proper way. Which is to soak it off with pure acetone. She glared at me and starts speaking in Vietnamese and orders another staff to help me and didn't even apologize. FYI ladies who get acrylic nails and don't already know this, NEVER NEVER NEVER let a nail technician peel off your acrylic nails with another nail, nail clipper, or floss!!! That will severely damage your nail bed and make your nails very fragile. If they're not soaking your acrylic nails in pure acetone to remove it then they're doing it wrong. Plus I've seen their raise in price and it definitely should not cost $20 for acrylic removal, y'all better off doing it yourselves. read more

I've been going to Lynn who does all my nail designs for the last 6 months and I just wish I could've found this place so much sooner before I moved. I came to this nail salon early morning on a weekday for a gel mani/pedi. They were quite busy but I'm very happy that they were able to finish my mani/pedi within 2 hours. Kim who did my gel manicure was very fast and efficient, I admire her ambition to get the work done, by working in between clients while still keeping cleanliness by hand sanitizing before switching to another client. I came here on a Sunday afternoon with 2 other friends - made a day of reservation, and they were super accommodating to all my time changes. Gel nails start at $35 (as of Oct 2021), prices can increase based on additional designs. Service is great, all the ladies are super sweet. Tina rocked all of our nail art and I'm excited to have these for Halloween. One of my nails chipped the day after we got them done (totally my fault- was messing around with a sharp nail file and chipped it myself) and I came in to get it fixed. 5 minutes later, BOOM all fixed and looks brand new again. I was in the city visiting and needed to get my nails done. I decided to come here cause I used to get my nails done here when I lived in the area for school. I can't believe the price of a gel manicure is still only $22 with $3 for removal. This is still such a steal especially in SF. Most places will charge at least $25 plus for a gel mani. There's a huge selection of gel colors to pick from. I was told that the OPI, Essie, and some other brand name gels cost an additional $3 and that an accent nails costs also costs $3 extra. I came in around 3pm and I was seated right away.. Shortly after, people kept coming in one after another so it got quite busy. I'd recommend coming earlier to avoid wait time. Lisa did my nails. She was very gentle with the gel removal process and took her time doing my new gel manicure. She didn't over trim my cuticles and shaped my nails exactly the way I requested. Parking is metered in the area and can add up. There is free parking along the side street but it can be hard to find.
