I've been here years ago, so it's been a while, but this time I came back for the Basic Hydrating Facial. My facialist was Winnie, and overall the experience was fine -- efficient and straightforward. The facial itself was thorough, including gentle but effective extractions using the traditional finger method, and they also added a neck massage during the process, which was a nice bonus. They use a combination of Korean skincare products (I noticed Cellmax / Cellmax Fusion). Is it amazing? Not exactly. Not bad, but not excellent either. It's one of those places where you go when you just want to get a facial without needing anything fancy. Would I go back? I'm not sure -- mostly because I no longer live in the area. But when I did live nearby, it was a convenient, reliable option for a quick facial. read more

First of Winnie and Selina are the nicest, sweetest people ever! The environment there is super relaxing with purple being it's main color. It feels super cozy and welcoming. They have 2 beds where you can either have a facial done or eyelashes. The ambiance is low lit and soothing with piano music playing in the background. One minor annoyance (rare occurrence) is that they're next to a music teacher who sometimes plays loud instruments next door but besides that, you can't really hear them too often. They tuck you in bed and make sure you're comfortable before starting. The shop has a nice aroma to it and it feels clean. There is a restroom located at the end of the shop and they always ask me if I need to use it before beginning, which is quite considerate! Winnie did my lashes (lash perms & extensions), she's so gentle that I fall asleep almost instantly. She's super patient and she will use as much time as she needs to lash all your lashes correctly! Selina does facials and she's very informative with knowing what skin type you are, what your skin needs, and how to take care of it. My friends and family go to them whenever they need a self care day and they know exactly how to take care of us! Definitely recommend if you need a little self-care day pick me up! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I'm dedicating my first one to Winnie at Beauty Key. When I told my friend that I was in search for a new facial lady, she recommended me Winnie. I tried the Combo Pack and it was amazing. (That was the first time I went there, but I didn't leave a review yet). Now that I've gone multiple times [ because I ended up with the package], I can really trust her with my skin. Winnie's techniques were not abrasive at all. My skin alternates from dry to combo, depending on the SF weather, leaving me with a lot of blackheads and whiteheads and the occasional not-so-friendly visitors, pimples. I am someone who can usually tolerate pain, but when it comes to extractions around my nose, I usually end up in tears. But with Winnie, her extractions surprised me. It was painless & effective. I loved my facial. I've tried many places and they were not as impressive as Winnie. I left without having any red marks on my face (my old facial left me with red extraction marks & it will take 3-4 days to heal). Not with Winnie. Winnie also asked me about my regular skincare products and gave some tips on what would help with my skin, which I appreciate. The recent visit, I also had eyelash extensions done [the mega set] with her and I love them! I have monolids & it's hard to find a good set of lashes that is short enough to fit my eyes and also full that doesn't look too dramatic. I'm so happy with them. I did the Collagen Hydra facial with Winnie yesterday and it was wonderful! I purchased this facial via Groupon and waited until the last minute before using it. Luckily, they were able to squeeze me in on the day I wanted to go! Winnie is super friendly and professional. She was informative of the process and thorough. The facial process went through blackhead extraction, steaming/exfoliation, face/shoulder massage, collagen, and face mask. It was super relaxing and comfortable. This review is for Serena. She did an outstanding job giving me the hydro facial. I wear a lot of makeup so my skin has a tendency to be dry. After the facial my face felt as good as new. I also have been lacking in sleep so my eye bags have been on the heavier side. Serena did an eye mask for me and you can definitely notice a difference. Of course my eye bags aren't completely gone but at least they aren't noticeable. Serena gave me some tips on how to keep my face rejuvenated! The morning after Christmas, my little brother go into my room and said "Sis, I want to get my eyelash curled." I say, "What?? Been watching too many K-drama?" He goes "No, I just want to look less chinkify and impress the ladies." I laughed at him but being the cool older and wiser sister that I am, I opened Yelp and made a few phone calls. Beauty Key was able to take him in for a last minute appointment, that same day. They did a good job and charged $40. He was very happy with it and said that he can see better because his Vietnamese-Chinese lashes were pointing downwards and covering part of his vision. I found this place on Groupon as I would like to do more facials but don't want to shell out the outrageous amounts you usually pay. I was positively surprised by this place. If you are looking for a high end MedSpa experience this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a place that knows skin, does great extractions, massages and is low pressure in upselling - this is a good place to go. They use mainly Shiseido products as well as some Korean skincare and I really liked their oxygen mask. Serena who worked on me was super friendly and skilled. The rooms are separated by curtains...so there is a certain amount of noise but not horrible. read more

2 ladies with superb skills. Their products are environmentally friendly and have not undergone any animal testing. Their eyelash extensions are non-animal based, ie no mink-- maintaining their dedication to safe, healthy products. Their work is meticulous and precise. There are not enough stars I could give. First off, I'm very hesitant about Groupon deals as obviously the service givers aren't receiving full price for their services. Selena went above and beyond with my custom facial. My skin is currently the most problematic it has ever been with cystic acne, blackheads and clogged pores. Selena took her time going deep with extractions, explaining her choice for the LED treatment and tea tree jelly mask and being so kind.
