This is my aunt and my to go nail parlor for years! All the manicurists are great, patient and paying full attention in detail when I went in to do my nails. This time I want to give a shout out to Angie! She is one of the best here :) I absolutely love my current fall selection of nail colors and designs. She knew what she was doing and planned the steps in a short amount of time. Taking short cut wasn't in her dictionary, she would wipe them out if she wasn't happy about the little strokes and redid the steps. I'm totally impressed with her work. I came to this salon the other day and had a very disappointing experience. The owner did my nails, and unfortunately, she was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the appointment. At one point, I closed my eyes for a couple of seconds to relax, and she aggressively shook my hand while telling me to "wake up." Several times during the appointment, if I slightly moved or relaxed my hand, she would shake it again and criticize how I was positioning it. It felt like no matter what I did, it was wrong. She would tell me to open my hand, then later tell me to close it. What made me even more uncomfortable was that after speaking to me, she would often say something to the other employees in another language, and they would laugh while looking over at us. Whether or not it was about me, it felt very unprofessional and made the experience unpleasant. This wasn't my first negative experience. The previous time I visited with my daughter, every customer in the salon was offered water except for us. I've usually been happy with the quality of the nails here, but this time my nails came out thick and bubbly. Combined with the poor customer service and disrespectful treatment, I will not be returning. read more

Stopped by to get a pedicure with my partner and also got a gel extension manicure myself. As someone who doesn't get their nails done often, I can say this place is worth your money and time. The spa pedicure was very efficient and well done. I appreciate how they have warm, personal air dryers for your feet. All the staff were so kind and welcoming too. My gel manicure done by Chau was amazing. She really takes her time with prepping the base, shaping the nails, and painting. I came on a Sunday 10am for a gel manicure and regular polish pedicure, with added 10 min massage for pedicure. They finished within the hour. There are air driers for feet. Parking was easy to find on the street at this time of day. The chairs are comfortable and the pedicure offers bowls for feet to dip into, which makes it even more sanitary. The environment is very calm and relaxing. Payment is by cash or Venmo, although they recommend tipping in cash. read more

Their service was still great but I ALWAYS schedule with Angie. Initially, I was told someone else would help with removing my dip powder while Angi is working on another client (I assumed Angie would work on my nails after removal). The nail tech then started filing and reshaping my nails, when I voiced my concerns, it was too late. There was a rescheduling mix up, they overbooked Angie and assumed I would be ok with anyone else. I appreciate that they were apologetic. I wish I was more daring to try this place sooner. I have been a loyal customer of Richmond Nails for many years now, but they have recently increased their prices over the past few months to my dismay, with their core staff leaving. I was just wanting to see what else was out there, and always had passed by this place in the past. I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. I'm not sure of my beautician's name, but I think she did a stellar job on my regular pedicure. She was gentle with my toes, and provided all the same services in the pedicure that Richmond Nails did (foot bath, warm towels, massage, lotion, exfoliation, etc.). I will say that comparing the two nail salons, Richmond Nails does a more thorough massage. I also think Richmond Nails has a higher level water foot bath, that stays warmer longer. I just feel the ambiance of this place though. I felt the whole salon to be more relaxing overall than Richmond Nails, and staff a lot less pushy and demanding. I also liked the organized wall of nail polish - very soothing. Music was Spanish guitar playing, very soothing. I think the lighting, and spacing between chairs, was relaxing and perfect. I was a little irked that they didn't take credit card though. She said they usually take credit card on a regular basis, but not today? Weird. Anyway, would definitely return for a future pedicure. read more

The first technician started with soaking my feet with hot water with lemons. Then another technician began soaking my hands one at a time. Beyond the nail clipping was work on my cuticles. Then more trimming and the buffer block to smooth skin. I really liked the exfoliating foot and calf massage. I then had hot towels placed on my feet and hands. Called and then came in on short notice on a Friday evening for a gel manicure and was helped by Ivy! The store was very empty at 5:45pm so I was nervous seeing that, but I also realized it's likely because they close at 7pm haha. Ivy was very kind, gentle, and careful with her work the entire time and surely enough the nails came out super well and I left feeling very happy with the results! The staff is nice enough, but I will say the prices are atrocious even for SF standards. I went in for a full v-cut french tip acrylic, which according to their menu a full set french tip acrylic is "$65+"...this is super misleading, and they can essentially add any expense they want to. I can see adding maybe $10 for the different shape, but they wanted $10 for the length by itself and $25 extra for the V-shape! It came out to $105, and I don't even know where the extra $5 came from cuz their explanation had me that confused. This is the most i've ever spent for such a simple manicure where the lines aren't even straight! No pampering extras either, they didn't even soak my fingers or trim the cuticles or anything! For $105 that's ridiculous. This was a last minute visit I needed for a party, so I begrudgingly coughed up $125 (plus tip cuz i'm not an a-hole) but i'm definitely never coming back. read more

I've been here a few times before, but my most recent visit was outstanding and deserves a review. I had a full gel mani (Ivy) and pedi (Angie) done. Ivy was gentle and would make sure to ask for my input while she was doing my mani to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Angie was super thorough, detailed, and really took her time to make things perfect. She was doing my pedicure and I felt like she did a wonderful job! She was absolutely amazing and I would definitely go back to get my nails done by her. Both Angie and Ivy were great, but I felt like Angie took it to the next level with her thoroughness and really aimed for absolute perfection in her work. 5 of us went for mani pedi as a part of Bachelorette celebration for one of my best friends. I went with no expectation since this was my 1st mani pedi ever. Staffs were welcoming, knowledgeable, and nice. Nail tech did great job on my toes. My nails are extremely small which makes it hard to file and work on. She was super sweet about it. I am extremely ticklish as well and she handled it well :) Tammy did my manicure really great. I messed up my nail right after it was done. She was really nice and patience with me and helped retouch the ones I messed up. I did get extreme dry fingertip which caused my skip to peel badly. No one else in the group had this problem, so I think this was a personal reaction to something. Everyone else had great experience as I did. My toes didnt react to anything. It's been about 2 weeks and my toes look still pretty and intact. I didnt use gel so manicure has started to peel off. As recommended by local friend who took us here, this is a pretty nice place to get mani/pedi done. They have great selection of colors, great service, and friendly staffs. read more

Oh no, the heartbreak. We have a discrepancy over "short", "sport length", and "medium" length nails. I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 years old. I know what most all salons consider "short" and "medium" and my nails aren't medium length. Last time I let it slide because I was tired and didn't want to discuss it but today, I literally had Angie (the greatest manicurist of all time by the way) shave my nails down to short and Chau still said they were medium. So, I whipped out my phone to ensure we had an understanding (with pictures from the internet) of what "short" vs "sport length" (meaning you play basketball or a sport where your nails need to be the shortest possible length with acrylic overlay) and that is what Chau means. What is the difference, Milan? Budgeting and customer service. If my fill is $65+$10 tip for Angie and my pedicure is $30+5 tip that is the normal cost of a full set every time I come and that is a luxury I won't indulge. Again, Angie is the most phenomenal, meticulous, kindest nail tech there is. The 4 Stars are dedicated to her and her quality of work. Yet, Chau is her employer and what she says goes. For instance, Chau saying I had to pay by cash yet, she allowed the blonde customer across from me pay via Venmo and I was paying $90 (plus ATM fees) compared to her $55 via Venmo. I think I just answered my own question regarding how I feel after this service. This doesn't feel good at all. P.S. Angie, my husband told me to tell you if you ever leave or want to do "outside work" CONTACT ME! As you know I PAY and VALUE excellent work and service! read more

Well..... I was really hoping to leave a higher rated review but unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Starting with the pros: Everyone is as very nice and helpful from the get-go. The doors are locked and each person has to be let in by the owner/manager letting them in. I guess it helps with the safety factor which was nice. Cons: I asked for dip nails but one of the ladies was really against me getting dip. She said it was bad for my nails. She suggested "hard gel" that I would have to get filled every so often. I was tempted but it would be $70 for the first set and $55 per fill after that. I said no thanks. She then said gel would be better. I'm so easy to persuade.... I went with gel even though I really wanted dip. That was my bad. I was charged $45 for the gel mani and dip removal. I think the dip removal was $10 and the gel mani was $35 but don't quite me on that. The manicure was less than ideal. My nails were filed a little jagged and the manicurist cut deep into my cuticle. She was very apologetic but one week after the mani and it is still open and not healed. I think it might be infected. It's so painful to touch, it's swollen, and it's drainage is a little yellow. Finally, the gel polish was not sealed very well so it started chipping after 5 days. I even went home and put another gel top coat on the polish and tried to seal it better. I tipped too well. Had I noticed the jagged nails, unsealed edges, and how bad the cut into my cuticle was, I probably would have tipped less. Lastly, this place is cash only. There's a chase ATM less than a block away. read more

My nails turned out amazing and the service from the nail techs were impeccable. I got a mani and pedi for $50 and the nail tech was good at asking my what length I wanted, confirming after she trimmed and filed both nails that I was happy with the length. I also picked white, and she checked the bottle and asked if I wanted natural white or bright white (I wanted bright white but had picked natural white) and I'm so glad she confirmed. The massages felt nice and the lemon in the water was very fragrant and a nice touch. They were very friendly and didn't rush anything and I'm super happy with the results. read more

Love love love my nails! I made an appointment a day before, and they were able to fit me in. Michelle did my nails and she was the best, she's so sweet and it was really nice taking to her. She took her time with my nails, and made sure everything looked great. She was also gentle with my nails which I really appreciated since doing acrylics does take a toll on your natural nails. Originally I was going to do regular polish, but I changed my mind last minute, and she was so understanding and let me switch to gel. Towards the end of my appointment, a lot more of their regulars came in, and it was really heart warming and refreshing to see the customer and employees remember each other's names and genuinely care about another.
