Worst mani pedi I ever had $100.00 with that REQUIRED CASH tip and I tip 20 percent First they ask you to pay $5.00 extra if you want to sit in the massage chairs that many salons have But did not even trim or push cuticles Barely even filed NO BUFFING NO MASSAGE AT ALL AND THE POLISH PEELED OFF IN 3 days!! I wish I was more daring to try this place sooner. I have been a loyal customer of Richmond Nails for many years now, but they have recently increased their prices over the past few months to my dismay, with their core staff leaving. I was just wanting to see what else was out there, and always had passed by this place in the past. I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. I'm not sure of my beautician's name, but I think she did a stellar job on my regular pedicure. She was gentle with my toes, and provided all the same services in the pedicure that Richmond Nails did (foot bath, warm towels, massage, lotion, exfoliation, etc.). I will say that comparing the two nail salons, Richmond Nails does a more thorough massage. I also think Richmond Nails has a higher level water foot bath, that stays warmer longer. I just feel the ambiance of this place though. I felt the whole salon to be more relaxing overall than Richmond Nails, and staff a lot less pushy and demanding. I also liked the organized wall of nail polish - very soothing. Music was Spanish guitar playing, very soothing. I think the lighting, and spacing between chairs, was relaxing and perfect. I was a little irked that they didn't take credit card though. She said they usually take credit card on a regular basis, but not today? Weird. Anyway, would definitely return for a future pedicure. read more

Called and then came in on short notice on a Friday evening for a gel manicure and was helped by Ivy! The store was very empty at 5:45pm so I was nervous seeing that, but I also realized it's likely because they close at 7pm haha. Ivy was very kind, gentle, and careful with her work the entire time and surely enough the nails came out super well and I left feeling very happy with the results! I was in and out less than an hour even with Ivy working delicately and the price was not bad at all (gel removal + new set was $43 before tip.) Would definitely come again :) Thanks Ivy! read more

I don't normally get a manicure or pedicure and my wife recommended Aquatica as she enjoyed the pedicure she received there. What a great experience! The first technician started with soaking my feet with hot water with lemons. Then another technician began soaking my hands one at a time. Beyond the nail clipping was work on my cuticles. Then more trimming and the buffer block to smooth skin. I really liked the exfoliating foot and calf massage. I then had hot towels placed on my feet and hands. The nails were finished with a clear coat. I really liked the attention to detail. I look forward to returning:) read more

The staff is nice enough, but I will say the prices are atrocious even for SF standards. I went in for a full v-cut french tip acrylic, which according to their menu a full set french tip acrylic is "$65+"...this is super misleading, and they can essentially add any expense they want to. I can see adding maybe $10 for the different shape, but they wanted $10 for the length by itself and $25 extra for the V-shape! It came out to $105, and I don't even know where the extra $5 came from cuz their explanation had me that confused. This is the most i've ever spent for such a simple manicure where the lines aren't even straight! No pampering extras either, they didn't even soak my fingers or trim the cuticles or anything! For $105 that's ridiculous. This was a last minute visit I needed for a party, so I begrudgingly coughed up $125 (plus tip cuz i'm not an a-hole) but i'm definitely never coming back. read more

I've been here a few times before, but my most recent visit was outstanding and deserves a review. I had a full gel mani (Ivy) and pedi (Angie) done. Ivy was gentle and would make sure to ask for my input while she was doing my mani to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Angie was super thorough, detailed, and really took her time to make things perfect. She was doing my pedicure and I felt like she did a wonderful job! She was absolutely amazing and I would definitely go back to get my nails done by her. Both Angie and Ivy were great, but I felt like Angie took it to the next level with her thoroughness and really aimed for absolute perfection in her work. I would be happy going back to either one of them. read more

5 of us went for mani pedi as a part of Bachelorette celebration for one of my best friends. I went with no expectation since this was my 1st mani pedi ever. Staffs were welcoming, knowledgeable, and nice. Nail tech did great job on my toes. My nails are extremely small which makes it hard to file and work on. She was super sweet about it. I am extremely ticklish as well and she handled it well :) Tammy did my manicure really great. I messed up my nail right after it was done. She was really nice and patience with me and helped retouch the ones I messed up. I did get extreme dry fingertip which caused my skip to peel badly. No one else in the group had this problem, so I think this was a personal reaction to something. Everyone else had great experience as I did. My toes didnt react to anything. It's been about 2 weeks and my toes look still pretty and intact. I didnt use gel so manicure has started to peel off. As recommended by local friend who took us here, this is a pretty nice place to get mani/pedi done. They have great selection of colors, great service, and friendly staffs. read more

Oh no, the heartbreak. We have a discrepancy over "short", "sport length", and "medium" length nails. I've been getting my nails done since I was 16 years old. I know what most all salons consider "short" and "medium" and my nails aren't medium length. Last time I let it slide because I was tired and didn't want to discuss it but today, I literally had Angie (the greatest manicurist of all time by the way) shave my nails down to short and Chau still said they were medium. So, I whipped out my phone to ensure we had an understanding (with pictures from the internet) of what "short" vs "sport length" (meaning you play basketball or a sport where your nails need to be the shortest possible length with acrylic overlay) and that is what Chau means. What is the difference, Milan? Budgeting and customer service. If my fill is $65+$10 tip for Angie and my pedicure is $30+5 tip that is the normal cost of a full set every time I come and that is a luxury I won't indulge. Again, Angie is the most phenomenal, meticulous, kindest nail tech there is. The 4 Stars are dedicated to her and her quality of work. Yet, Chau is her employer and what she says goes. For instance, Chau saying I had to pay by cash yet, she allowed the blonde customer across from me pay via Venmo and I was paying $90 (plus ATM fees) compared to her $55 via Venmo. I think I just answered my own question regarding how I feel after this service. This doesn't feel good at all. P.S. Angie, my husband told me to tell you if you ever leave or want to do "outside work" CONTACT ME! As you know I PAY and VALUE excellent work and service! read more

My friend and I went here for manis and pedis. They did a good job on my French manicure and the pedis were fine, but it wasn't a nice "treat yourself" experience by any means. The people there were kind of rude and standoffish to us, and almost seemed annoyed we were there (even though I made an appointment and we were there on time). They were very brusque with us and showed no friendliness at all. I personally like the idea of getting a mani/pedi as a way to pamper myself and relax and I didn't get those vibes here at all. My friend and I left and looked at each other, both saying, "that was a weird experience.....". There are a lot of other nail salons in the Richmond so I'll make sure to go to those ones! read more

I went on New Year's Eve for a gel mani and regular pedi. The gel lasted 3 weeks and is still looking good! No chips or anything! It was still looking perfect but my nails got too long so I had to cut it. This is the longest time I had a gel manicure that lasted so long. Will be my go to place from now on. read more

I didn't get the name of the nail tech because she got busy with the phone right when once my nails got done, but her attention to detail with my nails was excellent! She took her time cleaning up my cuticles and prepping the nail. She also painted the ends of my nails, a small detail that I LOSession needed with oils, lotion, a hand massage, and a hot towel. I think I found my go-to spot on this side of GGP! read more

Well..... I was really hoping to leave a higher rated review but unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Starting with the pros: Everyone is as very nice and helpful from the get-go. The doors are locked and each person has to be let in by the owner/manager letting them in. I guess it helps with the safety factor which was nice. Cons: I asked for dip nails but one of the ladies was really against me getting dip. She said it was bad for my nails. She suggested "hard gel" that I would have to get filled every so often. I was tempted but it would be $70 for the first set and $55 per fill after that. I said no thanks. She then said gel would be better. I'm so easy to persuade.... I went with gel even though I really wanted dip. That was my bad. I was charged $45 for the gel mani and dip removal. I think the dip removal was $10 and the gel mani was $35 but don't quite me on that. The manicure was less than ideal. My nails were filed a little jagged and the manicurist cut deep into my cuticle. She was very apologetic but one week after the mani and it is still open and not healed. I think it might be infected. It's so painful to touch, it's swollen, and it's drainage is a little yellow. Finally, the gel polish was not sealed very well so it started chipping after 5 days. I even went home and put another gel top coat on the polish and tried to seal it better. I tipped too well. Had I noticed the jagged nails, unsealed edges, and how bad the cut into my cuticle was, I probably would have tipped less. Lastly, this place is cash only. There's a chase ATM less than a block away. read more

My nails turned out amazing and the service from the nail techs were impeccable. I got a mani and pedi for $50 and the nail tech was good at asking my what length I wanted, confirming after she trimmed and filed both nails that I was happy with the length. I also picked white, and she checked the bottle and asked if I wanted natural white or bright white (I wanted bright white but had picked natural white) and I'm so glad she confirmed. The massages felt nice and the lemon in the water was very fragrant and a nice touch. They were very friendly and didn't rush anything and I'm super happy with the results. read more

Love love love my nails! I made an appointment a day before, and they were able to fit me in. Michelle did my nails and she was the best, she's so sweet and it was really nice taking to her. She took her time with my nails, and made sure everything looked great. She was also gentle with my nails which I really appreciated since doing acrylics does take a toll on your natural nails. Originally I was going to do regular polish, but I changed my mind last minute, and she was so understanding and let me switch to gel. Towards the end of my appointment, a lot more of their regulars came in, and it was really heart warming and refreshing to see the customer and employees remember each other's names and genuinely care about another. This place must be doing something right to have their customers genuinely love coming back! read more

I've never written a negative review before because I love supporting small businesses and know how hard it can be to keep things running. Also, a lot of the techs don't speak English and I know that can be hard as well. However, I do think this'll be beneficial for feedback for future reference because I think my nails were damaged beyond what was needed and it'll take at least a month to grow out :( I've come to this nail salon once before had decent service. This time I wanted to get builder gel nails removed that I had done at another studio. Because I've experienced nail lifting and skin irritation that's pretty painful with acetone soaking before, I called ahead and requested if it is possible I get my builder gel nails removed via just drill. I was told yes, it's possible. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly which was great! After I arrived, I requested them to trim my nails short and remove the polish. Minimal cuticle work necessary but I'd like a manicure with no additional polish needed, just nail strengthener. The lady who greeted me up front said of course, we can do that. However, the technician who was assigned to me did not know what I was asking for. I tried to explain again and was told ok. My service began and all was fine, but then shortly after the drilling started, my technician was replaced with another lady randomly, who I think was in rush despite no other clients I could see waiting at the time. This was the biggest issue -- unlike her prior colleague, she increased the power of the drill super high and started filing away extremely aggressively, and I truly believe she went too hard and either rotation speed was too high or she pressed too hard. I felt heat on my nails I don't think I should've felt, and the tips of at least half my fingernail have been left extremely, EXTREMELY thin. Even with two coats of nail strengthener. She got a bit upset at the three times I flinched I think. After service, I could barely put any pressure on my nails without them bending a little. I've currently already broken two and it's only been two days (one broke when I tried to itch my LEG?!) :(. If you look at my nails from the top you can see the tips are more pink and from the side, even a slight difference in density at the tips. I'm a bit worried of onycholysis as I work a lot with my hands and they're short, so breaking them is painful. I do note that there was a language barrier with second tech as well, so I had to ask at least three times to cut my nails short. That's totally fine. However, I think she got frustrated with me because she'd already begun filing and shaping one nail before she finally understood that I needed them cut. As much as I understand there might be a language barrier with ME, I do wish her colleagues could've communicated what I was requesting to her if they had to hand me off. It's not that I didn't try to communicate either... I bring this up only because I noticed after that she immediately started working way faster and more aggressively and I believe skipped some parts of my service without saying anything. While she did remember to apply coats of nail strengthener, my service ended without any lotion, cuticle oil, or anything like that (and she'd used alcohol on my hands during the process which dried my fingers out) The reason I believe she might've skipped some steps without telling me is because her colleague asked her a question in Vietnamese after and came up to me and said it'd only be $25 for the service today instead of $50 for the manicure I'd wanted. I'm not super familiar with nail removals as I usually just let them grow out and cut them off, so perhaps it was on me to go back to the original studio I got my nails done at to get them removed. But this was my first time getting builder gel done which is tougher and I wanted to go about removal in the appropriate way. I did try to do my due diligence and call in advance to ask if it was possible and ultimately I wish I'd just been told to maybe go elsewhere more experienced with removals with a drill :( Edit: added a star because I had an okay experience w/ this salon in the past
