Angel Tea was a phenomenal experience. Angel was very kind and conversational in her service. the Taro milk tea surpassed expectation and she made a fabulous oreo and mango crème cake. The ambiance is great with quiet instrumental music playing in the background and self drawn decor on the walls. The mango pomelo was missing the mango pieces and was too sweet even when ordered with no sugar. Most of the sago was frozen. Also it didn't look like anything on the poster. I was excited to try out this bubble tea shop, but didn't have high hopes after reading some reviews. Located on the strip of restaurants on Moody Street, I was hoping for a refreshing drink to get rid of the mid-afternoon slump. They also serve food ranging from meals to snacky food if you want to hang out with friends. I ordered the strawberry pomelo sago, and my friend ordered the mango pomelo sago, which are the top 2 most popular drinks. I was highly disappointed when I took my first sip, as the strawberry was extremely artificial tasting. The mango was slightly better, but still didn't taste fresh. Unfortunately, I was super disappointed by this place. The store concept is amazing -- the owner is a Brandeis student, who was able to pay off part of her tuition from the store. However, I thought the quality was pretty lacking, especially for the high prices that they're charging. We got two bobas and one order of the popcorn chicken which came out to ~$37 with tip. The teas tasted powdery -- we got a red bean drink that especially had a strange, sour flavor at the end. Overall, though, I was most disappointed in the popcorn chicken. For $11, the portion was *super* small and it was absolutely, painfully average, with some seasoning dashed across the top and a side of ketchup. I was also pretty caught off guard by the chicken because there's a newspaper article on the wall, which cites that the food menu is "all authentic, homemade Chinese food" -- and I'm positive the chicken bites we had don't qualify. TLDR: 100% overpriced for both the amount and portion received. Until there's a serious revamp, I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by some cute pusheen plushies! I'm sad that Royal Tea closed, but this new shop looks like it could be a worthy replacement. It's nicely furnished, and they even have a popcorn machine and keyboard! Mango Pomelo Sago Nectar was bomb. If you get the mango popping boba, it elevates the drink to the next level. The sago is great. The popping boba is great. They have the perfect blend of milk, coconut milk, and mango. We couldn't customize sugar for this drink, but the sweetness was perfect. Fantastic drink! The only thing that could be better is the price. $7.69 for a medium and $8.59 for a large is a VERY steep price... one of the highest I've seen. The lady at the counter was super nice. We did find a hair in our first boba, but she quickly made us another one. We'll definitely be back to try more drinks in the future! read more

Free range savory egg crepes and mango pomelo sago beverage. I love Chinese crepes, so I picked up one from here and love how they use free-range eggs. The ham and spam were cooked separately, so they were crispy and delicious. I ordered the large mango pomela sago drink with less sugar, and that was refreshing on a beautiful day. I don't recommend coming here. Came with a couple friends to get some tea before we went to the arcade down the street. The concept of the store is cute, but the boba just wasn't that good. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but genuinely charge too much for what you get. The tea was not flavorful and tasted watered-down, and the bubbles tasted old, like they were sitting in water the entire day (no chew, no flavor) The mango slush my friend got was slightly better, but separated very fast. I don't understand how places like this stay in business. We ordered almost the entire food menu. The only way to describe it is inedible. The garlic fried rice is clumps of white rice with burnt garlic flavor and tiny bits of beef that taste off. We added everything to the omelette which came with barely anything in it, with the exception of hot, slimy wilted lettuce which also made appearances in several other dishes. Both the pork dishes were completely flavorless, and the dumplings had thick skin with very little flavorless pork filling, sitting in an piling black sauce and more slimy black wilted lettuces. They should be embarrassed to serve food like this!! And unfortunately the bubble tea was just as bad as the food! read more

Came for dessert after brunch and since it was a boba shop, we figured service would be quite quick. The drinks came out quickly and were okay. They lacked a bit of flavor, but tasted as they should. I always love going here after I hit up the arcade next door. They have a diverse selection of drinks that all taste pretty good-- I especially like the sparkling fruit drinks. The store is one of a kind and has a very family energy feel to their meals. It's homey! The staff are all really nice and welcoming to each customers, and the ambiance is really cute and bright. Of course the place isn't perfect, it's really pricey and since there is only 1-2 people running the shop there tends to have long waits. Overall it's a really nice family run restaurant. read more

This is truly the worst boba I've ever had. I got the taro milk tea and my girlfriend got the classic milk tea and we could instantly tell by their colors that something was off. Mine tasted like straight water and had a powdery texture. My girlfriend's drink tasted like old Lipton tea that was watered down from melted ice. We came in for the tea, which was excellent, and ended up eating lunch there. We were glad we did. The Coffee Milk Tea and the Mango Tea were both excellent, and so was the Soy Stewed Tonkatsu (Pork) which was also excellent. Extremely friendly atmosphere, family-run restaurant. It's a mother and a daughter and they are both the sweetest people ever. I had a taro milk boba and also a pineapple sparkle. Both were super good. Loved the boba, it was absolutely perfect texture, which is rare. The coconut jellies in the pineapple sparkle were fantastic. The Taro milk used real taro (i think) and was great. Also, I randomly asked if they knew where I could get some sichuan peppercorn, and they GAVE me some of theirs, it was the nicest thing a restaurant has ever done for me and I will support them for the rest of my LIFE. One of the worst boba teas I have ever tried. I ordered a taro milk tea and brown sugar milk tea both with regular (100%) sweetness and less ice. Both drinks came very warm and not sweet at all. Regardless of that the drinks themselves were undrinkable because they were so bad. The bobas were undercooked and I had to spit several out because they were unchewable.
