I spent an hour and a half yesterday trying to speak with someone to understand why the refills haven't been sent back. I was told ok, let me check and call you back. NO CALL BACK, no refills. Down to my last dose of a maintenance medication for potential life-threatening condition. Call pharmacy today, "no sir, we don't have the authorization from your doctor". Spent 2 hours on phone trying to speak with someone. I finally received a call saying "you haven't had your follow up appointment so we can't refill your prescription". Mind you, I have been on the same meds with the same dosage FOR YEARS. Second, my recent follow up appointment was canceled by the Dr office! Then the next appointment was during hurricane and canceled! Meanwhile, the pharmacy sent the request TWO WEEKS ago, no contact from the Dr office whatsoever stating there was any kind of issue! I was told they would send over a temporary supply only if I scheduled an appointment right that second. This office is horrible to deal, no patient focus whatsoever. Will hold your HEALTH HOSTAGE to make sure they get their appointment $$. You are JUST A DOLLAR SIGN here! STAY AWAY! I will be finding a new doctor in short order!

I made an appointment in June or July in preparation for another colonoscopy this year. The earliest date available was the end of August. Less than 48 hours before my appointment I received a phone call from someone that said they were having trouble verifying my insurance. My insurance hasn't changed. However, she then told me that the practice no longer accepts Medicare. I don't know if it was my Medicare plan or all Medicare plans. She didn't offer any further explanation, just told me that I couldn't see the doctor. I asked about paying out of pocket, and she just said, 'No'. The doctor is great! I know she's been with this practice for a long time. In my case they had all of my insurance information since the last colonoscopy, nothing had changed. I received no less than five robocalls informing me that I was due for a colon screening this year. If they were no longer accepting my insurance plan, I should not have been able to even schedule an appointment. The only contact I should have received was an alert informing me that my insurance was no longer being accepted by the practice. Now I'm left to 'shop' for a gastro-doc. Not happy.

All the physicians are the cream of the crop, and I want to give a special shout out to Dr. Jung and Dr. Lindsay. They have gone above and beyond for my kids, and they are extremely funny. The location is great and in the heart of Spring Branch - off Gessner and I-10 - though that area can get congested at times. The parking is easy and there is a skywalk from the parking garage to the clinic building. Lastly, having worked in healthcare myself, I know how important a smooth billing operation is. Bluefish's billing operation is top notch, so kudos to the billing leadership and staff. They told me 5 days to get a referral through. No escalation path for emergencies. My doc put a STAT and rush on it. Their "referral specialists" just speak from a script. Forget ever talking directly to a provider. Even though I like my doc and hate starting over, I'm changing at the end of the year during open enrollment along with my Medicare plan. It's attorney time before I can't walk again! I'd give 0 stars if that was option.
