It's hard to find a good doctor. I had Dr. Khandawalla. While he's better than Dr. Thompson in bedside manner, he's not great in it. He is unashamedly money hungry, wanting to do a colonoscopy every year. I mentioned that I was still taking indigo for my UC when we were already out in the hallway. He laughed at me and asked the doctor who was standing next to him if he ever heard about it. It's the best medication I've used so far and I don't even have to go through other people to get it. I had a great gastroenterologist not long before him, unfortunately for me he retired. After one of my colonoscopies, they sent a bill for $800 for labs for the polyps. After a million calls to them, one of the staff talked about it on the phone with me and said that next time, I need to tell them at the clinic to only use providers that are covered by my insurance. Be ready for 3 bills in addition to the $1000 that you have to pay upfront for each colonoscopy. I switched to a doctor who does their colonoscopies at Memorial Endoscopy Center. The total for everything ended up being like $1500 with them. With Khandawalla, I had to pay $2200. I did see Dr. Thompson first but only went to him once because he was rude and not at all delicate about my prognosis. That was hands down the worst bedside manner I've ever received. But Khandawalla was pretty rude and annoying too. The front desk staff care more about the socializing they are doing with each other than about talking to patients. They are stiff necked while interacting with patients. read more

My doctor is Dr Khandawala and I feel blessed to have him looking after me. I feel he has treated my esophagus issue appropriately. My issue can turn to cancer if it isn't watched carefully. You must trust your doctor and I do. Have I gone to get second opinion of course my daughter who is a nurse insisted, not because she didn't trust Dr. Khandawala she did. She thought he was great. In her professional opinion one should always reach out for another opinion when you have a serious diagnosis. I did and diagnose was the same. As I said I trust my doctor and if you don't then don't complain do your research and find another physician. read more

Office staff and medical personnel are the echelon of the medical profession. I was treated with kindness and respect, with a genuine interest in what brought me in. If you are having digestive or liver issue, make this your first and last stop. If you are lucky enough to be seen by either "Julia" or "Savanna," consider yourself blessed. Two incredible people who really care about what they do and about the patient before them. Dr. Spinn and her staff are second to none. Dr. Spinn is the best gastro you will ever find. He is the most skilled, the best listener, explains everything thoroughly so that you never leave wondering what's next. You know you are going to be taken care of in the best way possible. He is a conscientious and caring doctor who always has his patients best interest at heart. His nurse, Kelly, is very nice. Could give 0 stars if I could! My husband went in for a colonoscopy by Dr Mauk. The doctor did not return any phone calls or go over any results with us. Tissue exam was sent to an out of network by BCBS (United Pathology Associates), when we made sure that all the doctors were in network with BCBS beforehand! I went for a colonoscopy. I was told what my out of pocket fees were by the front desk. They were in-network with BCBSTX. Dr Spinn sent my tissue samples to a laboratory that was out of network and I've received a $2200 bill for lab tests! I was not consulted on where i would like the tissue samples sent for testing. Of course, I would have chosen an in-network lab. If going to this facility be sure you understand all out of pocket costs and instruct them to only use in network facilities. read more

My first review ever because I have never been that disappointed in my life about a doctors office. I arrived early and still had to wait over 30 minutes when finally they checked my weight and my blood pressure and sent me to a room saying that Dr Spinn is going to assist me in a minute. Dr Spinn managed to assist me in over one and a half hour but he was not wasting my time any longer because the whole consultation lasted about two minutes. Later I had to pay a $30 fee and when I tried to require some information about it on the phone a person called Rachel literally hung up on me after about a minute of conversation while I had a polite tone but clearly she did not like her time to be wasted. Ironic? I`m a faceless stranger who has a subjective opinion but keep looking there are so many offices and so many doctors who probably won`t waste your time and money and maybe they will really help and who knows they might even explain in a few sentences about your problem. Dr Mauk literally saved my life with a brilliant and insightful diagnosis of an unusual condition--liver stones. Dr Spinn performed an endoscopy within 2 hours and effectively cured my condition.
