Angela, her staff and her restaurant are all great! It's a very friendly atmosphere. It's an old place, not fancy, and yes, it's small but cozy. The entire inside is covered with pictures of military service members, and Angela absolutely loves veterans. The menu and prices are nice, and the food is always really good. I always feel like I'm going back in time when I go there, and I like that. Angela also makes the best collard greens I've ever had in the north, but you have to give her a few days notice if you want to order them as they're not a regular menu item. What a great spot. Stopped here with my wife on our way to Columbus from Niagara Falls. Five minutes south of 90...great food in a real comfortable atmosphere cooked and served by nice people. Met Angela, Very nice! Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in for lunch on our way through town. First time and last. We like to go to local places when traveling. Based on reviews and photos, we thought we would check it out. It took almost an hour for our food to come. Mind you, this is a small cafe so I watched her cook. She cooked 3 carry out orders prior to ours and 1 was still sitting there when we left. People that came in and ordered after us got and ate their food. When my burger arrived it was raw - not rare - raw. Her comment was "well 1 out of 3 ain't that bad". After waiting an hour for it, I was done. We were never asked if we wanted another beverage or needed anything. The locals definitely got better service. Huge disappointment. Really cool neighborhood diner not far from the lakefront. It gets really busy, and sometimes you wait a little while, but the food is really good and it's worth it. Angela and her staff are very good, they work hard, and they're very good with customers. I've never had a bad experience. Plus I think it's really cool how she supports our troops. I don't live in Conneaut anymore, so I haven't eaten there recently, but will do so again if I'm in the area. If you're in town for D-Day or whatnot, definitely try this place. read more

I understand the low staffing that Covid has brought about, but the service was unbelievably slow to the point of it being unprofessional. The cook would wipe her nose, then proceed to touch food. Our eggs tasted like dish soap and our water had a disgusting film sitting on top of our ice cubes. My appetite was gone long before we were served, which was after sitting there for 2 hours while take out orders ordered after our arrival were taken care of before us. I left hungry and will not be returning. And to top it all off, overpriced. Well, that's if you can even find a menu. It consisted for 3 things. The exterior of Angela's Cafe is unimpressive & the interior is no different. Though decorated in a patriotic theme, the inside is worn and housekeeping is evidently not a priority. Seating is limited & the counter stools are better suited for those weighing 150 lbs. or less. The staff is friendly which seems to be the primary attraction. My breakfast consisted of 3 eggs, (2) sausage patties, homefries, toast, & coffee all of which was good as was the price point. But the lack of general cleanliness & maintenance just can't be overlooked. read more

Very small place with a big heart! Down home cooking, made from scratch and very tasty. Hand cut fries, meatloaf, slow cooked collard greens, terrific chicken salad, big breakfasts -- all at a great price and served with pride. Don't expect polished servers, this is a diner and if you need another drink you may have to stop eating long enough to raise your hand. The chalkboard menu changes depending on what's on hand.
