The Motion is passed! The Boardroom in Erie, PA was a delight! The Chairman of our family (my father) was celebrating a birthday and the executive team (our family) decided to take him to the Boardroom for dinner! As this Birthday takes place near Thanksgiving, there tends to be snow in the mix. This year was no different except we had a ton of snow. Thankfully the restaurant stayed open and we had a delicious dinner. I enjoyed a frank Sinatra martini and ordered the reference NY Strip. It came out with shrimp on top covered in a sauce. As sides, there was garlic mashed potatoes and delicious green beans! These green beans had small slices of almonds in it and was cooked with a little garlic. They were perfect! The steak was well cooked and provided plenty of food! The chairman was happy with his reserve strip as well! Job well done! We will be back for another family board meeting. read more

What should have been a nice evening out for a special dinner with my wife, ended horrible. She has a sensitivity/allergy and knows that she has to stick to a certain brand of liquor to avoid a debilitating migraine. She voiced her concern to me the first sip, of her drink that something is off. Very bitter. But she doesn't like to draw negative attention and complain before we order food. Long story short, two drinks at dinner, and her migraine starts as soon as we get back to our son's house, literally 15 minutes away. Migraine and throwing up. Typical reaction her body has to bad liquor. This shouldn't happen after two drinks. She requested her "safe" brand, chalked it up to "every one mixes cocktail a tad different" blaming that as the reason to the off taste. In reality she knows bad liquor from her "safe" brand. We expect this as Firebirds, it's happened a couple times there. But had higher expectations at a smaller well reviewed restaurant. Thankful we have our son living close by so she didn't have to be miserable the hour drive home. TRAIN YOUR BARTENDERS, mixologists, etc, when people request a drink be made specific, it isn't a because the customer wants to be persnickety, just like food allergies, there are allergies to alcohol. STOP TRYING TO PULL ONE OVER ON YOUR CUSTOMERS. WILL NOT RETURN. read more

If they changed their light bulbs to warm lights, added a few wall sconces and some modern ceiling fans (it was so still in there, felt like there was no air), and some more sound baffling, it would've been 4.5 stars for sure. I can here while visiting in town. I heard the food was the best in the city. The vibe is similar to room 33 but the recent renovation is very nice. The food was great. The lobster deviled eggs were excellent and I got the seafood special which was fantastic. The steak however that my friend had was very small. The drinks were all strong and good. We've gone there a couple times now and every time it's been quite good. Nice looking place, well decorated right off 26th street. They have a nice bar, very comfortable and inviting. The drinks are solid with a large ice sphere for optimal cooling without watering the drinks. We got the pork belly appetizer and asked for the sauce on the side, which is the way to do it. It's a very sweet sauce that, if overused, will ruin the dish. Wonderful cornbread base with a perfectly cooked piece of pork belly on it. We split the CEO steak 24 oz bone in. It was plenty for the both of us. Nicely done steak. Everything there is great. And the prices are just right, not like other places in town that have NYC pricing. I was at The Boardroom twice in the last month. Once for a wedding and reception the other to celebrate a birthday and an engagement. The server and service were exceptional. We didn't have drinks but the bar service offered special drinks. The food was wonderful! I had the pork Osso Bucco-top shelf! My guests had crab cakes, and several appetizers. We all took leftovers home.desserts were Black Tie cake and apricot cheesecake. We shared. The atmosphere is based on the "RatPack" Frank Sinatra, Den Martin, etc. Black, white, gray with pictures-very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend "The Boardroom"!!! read more

I visited the Board Room for my birthday this weekend and was not disappointed. We got a charcuterie board and bone marrow to start. I found that the bone marrow was cooked to perfection, and the pesto that came with it was expremely flavorful. The charcuterie had a good variety of choices, but my favorite was one of the cheeses with a wine-like flavor. We also tried the lobster bisque which arrived piping hot to the table. It was a certain crowd pleaser. As for the gnocchi, I was surprised (but not at all disappointed) that the dumplings were stuffed with cheese. The shrimp seemed fresh and had a nice snap to it. Since it was a birthday celebration, we ended with cake. I ordered and enjoyed the black tie cake. One of the most impressive aspects of our meal was the exceptional service we received. Our waitress worked hard to make sure everything went right (even bringing out an extra lobster bisque to ensure we each got a steaming hot bowl). The cherry on top was the live music we got to hear. This was.. hands down.. the absolute best dinner experience my hubby and I have ever had in Erie. The lobster bisque soup is the best my sister claims ever had. Chicken and mozz soup had deep developed flavor. Sandwiches (fish tacos and club) were very fresh and well proportioned. Sides were very good. Had to try a filet dinner so we ordered one of those to split. Cooked beautifully. Well seasoned. Literally cut it w a butter knife. I don't do lobster crochete, but my hubby devoured his half and most of my sister's. It reportedly had a bit of heat, but hubby appreciated the flavor depth. We couldn't leave without having the house made crème brûlée. My sister ranked it her second favorite she's had (she's a crene brûlée fanatic), and both hubby and I helped her. My criticism? Make it bigger! Make one shareable size! Perfect "tap." Nice cream. Other criticism? Find a new choc martini recipe. It should look inviting and have varied colors from cream to chocolate. Lemon drop martinis were very good. Ambiance is very inviting. Indoors is modern yet has an intimate touch. It rivals what we've had in Michelin star restaurants across the east coast. TL; DR: Mediocre food and service at an expensive price. I visited for dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant was not full. The hostess seated us fairly promptly, but it took a long time to get service from a server (even water). The AC was set to 69 (probably a joke), which felt overly cold. The food was mediocre. The "Asian snap peas" (ooh, that sounds exotic) were just regular snap peas cooked in soy sauce. The filet mignon had too much salt. The mashed potatoes were not cooked well; they were shiny and had a gummy consistency with lumps. The creme brulee was not golden brown on the top and the top was not crispy. They also played "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (a song which has not aged well) in July. read more

Met a friend for lunch. The soup seemed like it was a week old, and when my wrap came out it had mold spots on it. What should have been a totally green wrap (spinach) was not green aside from some bright blue/green spots. I pointed them out to the server as I had concerns about mold and she "promised" me that it wasn't mold. After 2 bites and some off smells (it smelled and looked moldy and tasted off) I dumped the contents out and left the wrap. Given the lack of concern for my concern as a customer, I doubt I'll return. I have an extremely sensitive digestive system and can't afford the days it will take me to recover from eating bad food. New favorite place! The Board Room was amazing. I have been wanting to go here for a while and finally went and I wish I went sooner. We had an amazing server as well as the manager came out to greet me and my family and she was so warm and kind. The food was absolutely amazing. I love crab cakes and they were great! I am not a fan of mushrooms so I didn't enjoy the rice but I am sure for someone who does like mushroom it would be good. I will be returning here again. But the food bases on my order could use improvement. I had the special which was linguini with scallops and shrimp in a wine sauce. First off, who cuts up scallops ‍! I guess that's a way to say the dinner had scallops but only use a few. And it had 4 shrimp and I don't know what the "sauce" was supposed to be but it had a funky herb on it that overpowered the meal. And the presentation was like it tasted, just not appealing. My significant other and I had dinner at this establishment on Valentine's Day. This was our first dining experience, and we were excited to try a new restaurant in the Erie area. We were surprised by the lack of patrons especially on this holiday. Although we were greeted by the hostess and seated quickly, our table was in the middle of the restaurant and every time the exterior door was opened, we were exposed to cold air. Unfortunately, our dining experience continued to decline... we ordered appetizers beginning with the lobster deviled eggs which were underwhelming; however, the lobster bisque soup was delicious! Shortly after, we ordered our entrees which arrived at our table in a reasonable amount of time. We had ordered "The Chairman" and the special "Cedar Plank Salmon" for our dinner entrees. The chicken was cooked and seasoned well, however, the pork belly was unappealing and dry, and the pasta was undercooked (well below al dente). The salmon entree was overcooked and the teriyaki sauce was charred (not blackened), and was not presented on a "cedar plank;" the side of asparagus was mushy and discolored, however, the risotto was cooked well!
