We absolutely love Connie and all the instructors at Angelfish! We have been here for about two years, and my six year old is about to graduate! My four year old is doing well and I now feel safe with her in and around other pools. She shouldn't be too far behind her brother in graduating from the program! They do a wonderful job of keeping classes small and giving each child the attention and direction each ones needs. We did have to wait for about a year on the wait list, however it was definitely worth it, and I believe the schedule has since been adjusted to get more children in on a weekly basis. We have been to the YMCA and St. Edwards for lessons in the past, but having a private pool and smaller classes makes a world of difference. I highly recommend Angelfish! read more

Popular program. Waitlist is long and sought over. We had a lot of great classes (good instructors here) and then they lost their best instructor and the other really good one cut back. In our final class, our child got stuck in a class where the instructor was overly focused on kids below their ability level, impatient with kids, and not teaching progressing skills. The final straw was when they used the excuse of my child not knowing his strokes to not accommodate him schedule wise when I observed they spent no time teaching them. We were staunch supporters of this program until they had some very rude run ins with our nanny over make up schedules which were their mistake and confusion. Then, after 5 years of loyal support and our child needed to take classes after school very rudely scheduled us out of the program telling us our child was not advanced enough to proceed to the next level and they couldn't make it work when it was very clear they had placed my child in a class in a level too low where they were not properly challenging him. They had good instructors but then lost one of their best during Covid and the main good instructor has cut back significantly leaving much of the program to others. I would not recommend the program at this point. Though they are fine at teaching the basics I found both my children progressed most and faster in other programs for example the SJCC or Riptides. Other programs are more technique focused. Just because your child "graduates" does not mean they will have legal swim technique. read more

My husband and I are avid boaters in the summer. It is very important that our children not only have the safety skills to swim, but to be comfortable and confident in and around the water. We started our daughter at Angelfish when she was 8 months old, and now she is almost 5. We also have our son enrolled and he is 2.5 years old. Since they've started lessons with Miss Connie and Miss Katie, we always get compliments on how well our children can swim. Miss Connie and Miss Katie are AMAZING! They are the most gentle and patient teachers. They work with each child as an individual in a small group ( 4 or less students) and their personal comfort level. They push each child a little bit more so they grow, but they don't force them to do anything they don't want. If you are serious about your children having the skills to be safe, comfortable and confident in the water, this is the best swim school hands down. Miss Connie is the owner and primary swim coach of Angelfish. When you see her interact with her students you can tell immediately that this is her passion. She truly interacts with each student gently with the intent to make sure they have the skills to be safe in the water. Miss Katie also teaches with the same passion. Our children have had lessons with both of them, and we have never been disappointed. While other reviews complain that there may be a wait list and response times are slow, I promise it'll be worth the wait to get your child into her class to teach a life long skill. read more

Very frustrating....wanted to book a birthday party with Angelfish. There is no phone number on their website so I emailed the person who handles the party bookings. Took several days to receive a response and was told they were booked for the entire month I was looking at (October). I emailed in the beginning of Sept for a mid-October party. The email came while I was sitting at my computer so I immediately emailed right back and asked about availability for November. That was 8 days ago and I have not heard back yet. I emailed again on 9/15 asking if they had any openings in November and still haven't gotten a response. Terrible customer service and extremely unprofessional. If a business like this is totally overwhelmed by inquiries and therefore, cannot respond in a timely manner, they might consider posting on their website when they are booked full for parties. I used to do lessons with my baby/toddler where I got into the pool with him. When I was 7 months pregnant with our second, that just was not working well. We tried Angelfish on the recommendation of a friend, and we love it. 4 students at a time are in the pool. For non-swimmers, three of the kids stay on a bench in the water at the side playing with toys while the instructor works on skills with the 4th. Then they rotate. There are also times (kickboards, etc.) where all the kids can do the skills at once. Once your kid can run, you don't have to get in the pool at all - you just cheer on the sidelines! My son has been learning excellent skills, and he loves both of the teachers. He is totally happy and comfortable in the water, and he is learning great water safety. The only mild downside is that there is no shower for the kids to rinse off afterward. This isn't a huge issue, I just make it a bath night for my son that night. Still, I'd be happier if I could rinse him off afterward. read more

Ms. Connie and Ms Katie are awesome and loving swim teachers. They take special care of each student they have in their program. They keep the classes small, so it can be hard to get in, but it is 100% worth the wait. My two year old son has been swimming at Angelfish since he was a year old. Not only has he learned to love and respect the water but he is an incredible swimmer for his age. We are constantly stopped by people in amazement commenting on how great he can swim. We give credit to where it is due, to Angelfish Swimming. Here is my 2 year old in August enjoying some pool time in Lake Chelan. My advice, get your kiddo on the waiting list and keep following up. It's a small business and both teachers are in the water all day, every day, so sometimes responses can be slow but I promise it's not because they are ignoring you or don't care. We started my son swimming here when he was 8 months old. He's 4 now, and I literally cannot believe what he's capable of doing in the pool at his age. I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined him having the confidence or ability to swim the way he does at this age. Our daughter started swimming here at 7 months old, and even though she is still little I am so grateful for the confidence she has with the water because of Miss Connie and Miss Katie. Every single week I look forward to bringing my children to Angelfish Swimming. I feel like Miss Connie and Miss Katie aren't just teaching them to swim, they're teaching them life lessons that they'll carry with them - like discipline, respect, and patience. We always tell people that Miss Connie is the 3rd parent in our home, because truly, for the 30 minutes a week she has them, she treats them like her own children. I have seen other posts about how impossible it is to get a call back, or how hard it is to get a spot at Angelfish for your little ones. To that I can only speak of what I've seen for the last nearly 4 years. I see a woman completely and totally committed to teaching young children how to swim - and she's doing it with minimal help or assistance, except from a few other people who work with her. It speaks volumes to me that her lessons are full every season, and in a world where we expect to have every call answered, or our every desire met instantly, I would say the fact that she even has time to return a single phone call should say a lot. I've recommended several friends to Angelfish, and the ones that want to get in, get in. Maybe it takes some patience or persistence on their part, but if they make the effort, they get their kids in. We started at Angelfish swimming 9 months ago with my 5 and 3 year old kids due to all the rave reviews we had heard about the school. It has exceeded all expectations. I have never seen such an amazing swim program in my life. My 5 year old can now swim freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke, dive, and retrieve things from the bottom of the deep end. 3 yo is still learning but swims underwater, jumps off the side, and is learning the other strokes. He adores his swim lessons. Miss Connie is the most amazing person. Her love for each and every child in the program is so apparent. Whether you have a hesitant kid who is scared to get in the water or one who dives right in, you can't go wrong, they all thrive at Angelfish. Both teachers were fantastic and my son had no fear and was water safe and then swimming in no time! We now have our youngest in there as well and he's improved so much. My daughter started swim classes there this summer and had Miss Connie and Miss Blair as teachers. While my daughter was never afraid of the water she was hesitant to swim with out a life jacket. Within two sessions they had her swimming on her own, going from one side of the pool to the other. I've had my son in lessons here for two years and I love the place. I too wish there was a shower to rinse the kids off afterwards, but they get really great results. They are quite full and they do get a ton of inquiries, so be patient. It helps if you don't have your kids in regular schools, so they are available during the daytime. read more
