The storefront of Angelina Porte Maillot near The Avenue des Champs-Élysées.

Delightful pastries + strong coffee = The perfect Parisian experience. Angelina is quintessential Paris, so be sure to stop by for a treat. From the moment you spot your treat through the glass counter, you'll be hooked. The location is tucked inside of a high-end department store, so don't fret if you can't find it right away. It's one of the first cafes inside of the store. The customer service and staff are hand's off (it's a cafe, after all), but if you need anything...just ask! They are very friendly. My favorite items are the Mont Blanc and African Chocolate. Everything is served on the trademark pink and white Angelina china, which makes the experience even more luxurious. If you're in a rush, you may ask for your order as takeaway. But really, I recommend sitting down, relaxing and soaking in every last morsel of your Mont Blanc. A great place to recharge near The Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Pro Tips: - Bring home Angelina macaron cream in a tube as a souvenir! - Bring a book to enjoy alongside your African Chocolate

We went based off friends recommendations while at the Musse De Lourve. Expensive, yes. Delicious, also yes. The hot chocolate will knock your socks off and have you grinning from ear to ear ALL day. I had the eggs Benedict/ bacon style and it was scrumptious. They offer fresh pressed juices, and an assortment of other goodies. The service was slow, and it took forever to get out check, and then pay. Our server spoke English to other tables, but pretended not to know any when she came to us. If the food and drinks weren't so stinking good i don't think i would go back, BUT they were. They have several locations so try one ! Do it for the hot chocolate !!

Unfortunately, I was extremely underwhelmed. I had been dreaming about this visit. We went to this location which was located inside a shopping center. Staff was wonderful and there was no wait to be seated. However, my favorite item was the lettuce that came with my mother's omelette. Perhaps I didn't drink the hot chocolate correctly? It was just too rich for one person to enjoy alone. Although the rest of the pastries looked magnificent, I didn't care to try much more after a bite of my eggs benedict.

Stopped in for "Tea Time" after a day of site-seeing and opted for Angelina's famous hot chocolate. Such a delicious, rich, cup of chocolately goodness!! The accompanying tea sandwiches and pastries were tasty as well. Service was a bit slow as we seemed to pop in at a pretty busy time, but still great! I will visit again the next time I'm in Paris, especially when it's cold out, hot chocolate is the perfect warm up!

There was a line at the door, but it moved fairly quickly. Once inside, you're in a beautiful Beaux-Arts salon. Service generally is very good. The Chocolat Chaud is superb. There are other savories and sweets on the menu here. This time we tried a Mont-Blanc (3/5). I know this is Angelina's signature pastry, but to me it couldn't compete with the Chocolat Chaud.

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ THEEEEEE gold standard for macarons in Paris ... or anywhere for that matter. + Macarons here are a little crisp, a little pillowy softness and a whollllllle bunch of flavor. - It cost a pretty penny (about 3 Euros for 1 piece), but you won't regret it for a second when you bite into one of these addictively delicious treats. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + All class, top notch white glove service - literally - they handle the macarons with much care like it were gold! THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Located in the heart of the Champs-Élysées on Rue Lincoln, so, YES, it is busy like rush hour outside ... and inside. + There are 2 sides to this massive flagship location - you can either make a purchase of macarons at their store OR dine/sit down in their tea house. Both have lines to wait on, but making a purchase only takes about 10 minutes on a weekend, while dining in looks like an unimaginable wait! + The store to make a macaron purchase at has 3 tables to sit around to enjoy your purchase of delicious macarons. You MUST catch someone about to leave (like we did) in order to snag a table. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location. CONCLUSION ----------------------- = Yes, I'm from the tri-state area and they've had a Laduree in NYC since 2011, but there's alwayyyyys something special about going to one of the originals and this spot is no different.
