Walked twenty minutes from cruise ship and the food was worth every step. So flavorful and great service from Louis! Highly recommend!

    I made it!! Mazatlan 2020

Located on the edge of Old Town just off the Malecon is a great place for appetizers and drinks. We had reservations and upon arriving our table had a reservation sign on it (impressive as most places do not put a reserved sign on your table here in Mazatlan). The staff were all extremely friendly. I was greeted by Isabel who I had made reservations with over the telephone. They do speak English so no worries about communcation here, The bar is a full bar which serves NUMEROUS drinks of every kind imaginable. They have a nice large selection of Rums, Gins, Tequila's and anything else you can think of. Five of us were ready to dig into the menu and did our usual for a new spot and ordered numerous appetizers to check on all the flavors and how the food is cooked. We ordered: 5 Stars: Bruchetta: 5 pieces on nice sized pieces of toasted fresh bread. You get one each of Spanish Tuna, Mushroom, Goat Cheese and Peppers (not spicy), Chorizo and 4 Stars: Pizza: Sausage, Bell Pepper, tomato, cheese, very nice, with a nice crispy thin crust. Perfect size pieces to eat in a few bites and enough to share for 4 if that's not your main course. It's about the size of a medium pizza. 5 Stars: Tuna: Nice cubes of fresh bluefin tuna served on two crisp square tortilla chips (large). This was a great dish and had fantastic flavor. The tuna if you know bluefin is a dark red and has an incredibly soft melt in your mouth texture which is nothing like the pale red tuna you see in most restuarants in the states. **5 Stars** Stuffed Poblano Pepper: If there was a favorite stuffed pepper for me, it has to be the Poblano. Fantastic flavor, tender and paper thin skin which a nice warming to the mouth but no heat or spicy notes for those who do not like spicy. This pepper was probably the best of everything we had. Stuff with cheese, pieces of corn and "pumpkin" seeds which are really pepitas. Technically, yes pepitas and pumpkin seeds are the same thing. But pepitas (which mean "little seeds of squash" in Spanish) don't have a shell and are found in only select pumpkin varieties. They are fantastic with this dish and give the soft pepper that crunch, enhancing the dish. 5 starts: I ordered the Tamarindo Margarita rimmed with chile salt. This was probably one of the best Tamarindo Margaritas I have had in Mazatlan over the past 10 years coming here and eating out every year for two weeks straight. That's a lot of Margaritas! The appetizers and drinks combined were 5 stars. 2 Stars: We then decided to order two main coursel which surprisingly were a dissapointment. We ordered the Pork Shank which came in a white wine clear broth. The pork shank was nice sized but was a bit dry, hard to cut and the meat with definitely a bit chewy. This should of been melt in your mouth but felt rushed and should of been braised at least another hour to break down the meat. 2 Stars: The bigger disssapointment for me was the Octopus. In all of Mazatlan I have never had Octopus that was chewy or tough. The grilled Octopus was beautiful looking and large, and while full of that nice BBQ charred flavor was definitley not cut with a fork tender (it should be) and was a bit springy in the chew which should not be the case. It was definitely edible but not nearly as tender and smooth in texture as it should of been. Again it felt a bit rushed in the cooking. 5 Stars: We decided to go for a different type of Dessert and went for the "DIRTY MONKEY". All Liquers of banana, kaluha, baileys, chocolate, blended and put in a liquid chocolate lined glass. This was like drinking a smooth and creamy milkshake and really was a perfect dessert. Overall I would highly recommend this place for all the appetizers and drinks and I will be going back for sure. I would try some other main dishes, but my focus would be to go for the appetizers and drinks. Probably some of the best appetizers I have had in Mazatlan. Due to the main dishes, I have to give this an overall 4 out of 5 for this visit, but when it comes to appetizers and drinks, you can't go wrong. 4 stars.

This place is exceptional! We were the first customers in for the season as they had been closed. I don't have enough words for how delicious the food is and for how friendly the staff are. The tuna in the tostada was hands down the best tasting tuna we've ever had. Both fish dishes were so fresh! We also had the avocado and hearts of palm salad that was super delicious! Don't pass this place up! It's a must go!

We had just landed In Mazatlán and checking into our apartment and wanted lunch. Angelina's was around the corner from where we were staying. Good service and a very nice menu. We wanted something lite since we having dinner in a few hours. We had the TOMATO& AVOCADO TOWER ,drizzled with fresh herbs emulsion and a touch of balsamic glaze. Very GOOD. Also had the TUNA CARNITAS TOSTADAS that came with avocado, citrus, carrots, and chili ancho oil. Also very good. Unfortunately we never made it back there for dinner. Really a 4.5 star restaurant. I would highly recommend Angelina's Kitchen for any meal.

Visited twice so far and had the same waiter each time. The owner and other staff were also so friendly and wonderful. Everything we had here was delicious and seemed homemade and fresh. Really glad we visited as they have awesome options for everyone including vegan and vegetarians.

During my stay in Mazatlán we tried many restaurants and all were good. Angelina's Kitchen, however, was great. We started with a Bloody Caesar (the best), followed by multiple appetizers for the table. All of my friends kept commenting how great everything tasted (roasted cauliflower, eggplant, octopus) I had the tuna tostado and avocado/tomato tower. The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. Beautiful venue and art. Make it a "must" while here.

We have come here 3 times and been very happy each visit. Nice atmosphere. Old town district in an area with great architecture. Wait staff extremely attentive. The first visit I got the pork tacos and the meat was tender and tasty. The second time I got a sandwich that I did not really enjoy. Tonight I had the stuffed chile and it was excellent!! So different and fresh! The rice was perfect accompaniment. The margaritas are nothing special. I got a tamarind one tonight and yet again not impressed. I would stick with beer or they also have a fairly large wine selection. Everyone raved about the shrimp tacos. My daughter loved her avocado fettuccine. We also split the avocado tower. This is fresh tomatoes, a ton of avocado, layered with goat cheese and drizzled with balsamic served with toast pieces. Excellent! Highly recommend. This restaurant has a very different menu that includes pasta, pizza as well as more traditional Mexico cuisine.

Meh. So of course all of the restaurants on the Machado Square have great ambience, and this is no…read moreexception. The reason for the low review is primarily the food quality. It is somewhere between a 2 and 3 star, though after thinking about it a bit I am going to go with 2. I'll start with the best: - My friend ordered a fish, which he said was good - The grilled zucchini (with balsamic) and gouda cheese appetizers were both good. They were a good start to our meal. - The sirloin steak was enjoyed. - I wasn't that impressed with the pizza, although the kids (ages 11 and 14) thought that they were good, so I guess I'll give that win. Also they make them in personal sizes, and the pizza oven was efficient (it came out first). The worst things we had were the pastas. They just weren't that good. The white sauce in the pastas were very bland, almost like a chinese restaurant gravy in the states. And the pasta bolognese was also quite bland. Service was fine -- not great or super friendly, but they were friendly and got us what we needed. If you decide to go here, I'd just suggest experimenting with the appetizers, and skipping the pastas.

Love this restaurant in Plaza Machado in Mazatlan. Good, friendly service and good food. My…read morefavorite is Black Buro Steak which is a filet mignon in black butter with vegetables and bow tie pasta. I'm not much of a parts person so I can't comment on the pasta but the filet mignon and fresh veggies in the black butter sauce are out of this world. Also love the flavored butter that is served with the bread. I've been at the restaurant every time I'm in Mazatlan and will return again. BTW, my husband had the shrimp and pasta and that dish was delicious as well.
