Walking around and doing some exploring in a foreign city can truly build up an appetite, so while everyone else was on their last leg of sightseeing, I was busy doing my Yelp search for "seafood." (That was the group majority's answer to "what's for lunch?") We got here at ease since our cab driver knew exactly where it was. If there was such a thing as "old town"Mazatlan, this location sure felt like it. It is located in an area surrounded by narrow cobble streets as well as old-school type buildings. I liked and enjoyed that they try to maintain some of the surrounding's structural history. The entry way was very welcoming. We were the only customers at the time so we were seated immediately. Party of 6, we were seated at the terrace with menus handed to us immediately. Since it was an extra hot day, we all opted for ice cold beer to quench off the thirst and the heat. And then off to a foodie ride we go! MUSHROOM CHICHARRONES: My choice to share with others. Talk about generous: this is an app that could be shared with at least 10 people! Had I know it was this much, I would have asked for half the amount (and I wouldn't have minded paying full price.) It is delicious, however, with the crispy crunch on the outside and soft mushroom bites inside. Seasoning was a teenee bit on the salty side which is perfect for me. GUACAMOLE: Made to order fresh and delicious. It really didn't need anything. It went well with tostada and crackers alike. We had no problem emptying the bowl. SHRIMP AND OCTOPUS TOSTADA: Big Bro's voice of app to share. So fresh. So delicious. It was refreshing. Very appropriate for a hot day. This I would highly recommend. OCTOPUS WITH FINE HERBS: Big Bro's choice. I have never seen it served this way - do they normally serve it THIS big? I appreciate how difficult it must be to prep octopus. The timing has to be almost perfect or it will wild tough chews and eats. This was cooked to a perfect tender bites and seasoned great as well. Me likey! FISH TACO: Each order comes with one. But it's one big serving for a single taco. Fish was grilled fresh and sidekicks just as fresh. Didn't need salsa or any more additions, great as is. CAPEADO (SHRIMP) TACO: Asked for it fried. Also bigger than what I'm used to. Served differently compared to the fish, it came with pickled red onions, cabbage and sauce. What a difference in texture the fried shrimp brought. It went very well with its veggies. Just like its fish counterpart, also great as is. OCTOPUS CEVICHE: Just like its tostada counterpart, also fresh, delicious and refreshing. The only difference is the flavor profile. Naturally, it's came with a level of sourness most ceviche come with along with great seasoning. We enjoyed this as well. FOOD: 5. Everything was made to order. There was nothing we didn't like! SERVICE: 5. Like usual, I forgot our worker's name, but he did his job well. I also noticed an older lady behind the kitchen hustlin' for all our food orders. VALUE: 5. Quantity and quality! PARKING: There might be some street parking, but I also noticed they may have a small private parking lot (might fit 2, maybe 3 small cars at most.) OVERALL: 5. Don't let its unassuming appearance fool you. They have many great chow downs to offer. Highly recommending.

Ceviche mix

Definitely coming back. Ceviche and fish tacos is a must. Great stop for those hitting the beach from the cruise.

Amazing seafood restaurant with an attractive interior and friendly staff. We stopped there for a very late lunch and Sat outside in the pretty garden. Our waiter was excellent. We had fish tacos, octopus taco, amazing guacamole, salmon cerviche that was so refreshing and flavorful, Shrimp taco, tuna taco. The waiter brought out about 8 different types of salsa to try. Everything was well seasoned, very fresh and good quality. Can't wait to go back and try some more items.

The massive amount of food we ordered. Probably could have done the grilled octopus and a few tacos but we wanted to try everything.

Located in old town, which is walking distance from the cruise port! Extremely friendly servers who spoke very good English and had English menus available. Get the coconut water if you're nursing a hangover, it comes in a huge glass. The salsa is addicting but can be quite spicy with the serranos. I loved it enough to take it back on the ship and find chips and guac to pair it with. Grilled octopus with fine herbs was a must try and definitely the star of the show. If you've ever had grilled octopus at a tapas restaurant, it's similar to that but they give you ALL 8 legs for the same price as one tapas plate. Not only is this thing massive, but it's super tender and nicely charred. My brother said his fish taco was incredible. So incredible that he forgot to let us try. Next time we'll order more than one. Garlic shrimp was good, the portion size was huge. I couldn't tell if we were supposed to eat it with the shell on or not, but I could see it going either way. My brother said he would want to have the fried shrimp next time. We ordered an agua chile with shrimp and octopus. Bursting with flavor. Next time I might pick another protein though; while the shrimp was good, the octopus was on the chewier side. Overall an amazing experience. We sat outside in the courtyard with the plants and the ambiance was so peaceful. Afterwards, we just walked off our food and visited the local shops Pro tip: If you're coming in from a cruise port, no need to take a taxi over, just follow the "blue line" trail on the sidewalks that will lead you into old town. Otherwise, taxi fares will run you $7 USD, which is still reasonable.

Place has really good food. Depending on the time of the year it may be less busy but the quality of the food remains. The waiters are very nice. drink menu is wide. Quick service. Be ready to eat outdoors with fans.

Lovely restaurant. We were greeted promptly and chose to sit in their courtyard. The service was excellent. Our waiter was helpful, chatty, friendly and attentive, which was an unexpected pleasure. They make a generous margarita, we watched. And the food was excellent as well. All in all it was a very nice experience.

Wonderful! Everything was great. The shrimp ceviche was heavenly, probably the best we had in Mazatlán. The service was also fabulous and the waiter was super nice and friendly. The restaurant had a cute outdoor patio. Overall great experience and would highly recommend!

Stopped in for a light lunch. Wife got shrimp cevíeche, I ordered 2 tacos and an aguachile. Food was very good. Cevíche was light, flavorful, simple. Shrimp Taco was outstanding!! Octopus Taco, very good. Aguachile was very fresh tasting. Service was excellent. Server spoke very decent English and was very attentive to refilling water and making sure we were good. Excellent job, very good food. Might hit this place again on our stay!!!

This place is perfect. Charming atmosphere, excellent service and fresh and delicious seafood. We had the fish tacos, mango ceviche, and the shrimp and cheese tacos. Everything was bursting with flavors and our waiter made sure that we were taken care of at all times. It was a great first meal in Mazatlan and we will be sure to return! Gracias a todos!

This place is a short walk off the beach. It has a lovely patio, as well as indoor and covered seating. It appears to be in a historic building. I had very attentive service, especially that I was there a 3pm. I asked for something not quite on the menu, they offer pulpo en mole, and clearly they had shrimp. So I asked for camarones en mole. The chef assured me, and he delivered! Along with greens, rice and fresh tortillas... So delicious i scarfed down every bite. I was hoping for something good... they far exceeded my expectations. Open until 11pm Camarones en mole $120mn, beer $50mn x2 $100mn T $220mn before tip. And believe me I tipped them well.

With great surprise and sadness I write this review. Topolo was the pinnacle of my dining…read moreexperience journey when visiting Mazatlan. Magical. Delicious. Memorable. The gold standard of what I loved about restaurants when we visit. Last night I was shocked and disappointed. It's changed...and not for the better. Still the best is the head waiter. Was grateful for him. Kind, inviting, knowledgeable, professional. He is the one waiter in my world travels who I love the most. Now the bad news. I noticed the seating had changed and become uncomfortable, ugly, gross. I remember being amazed by the antique tables and large comfortable locations in the garden. They are all metal now. My wife needed a seat changed out because the first seat was hurting her. The salsa was still delicious. The beer cold. We all enjoyed our drinks. The salad I ordered came, with dust or dirt in it. I was the only one who ordered a salad. The meal came in a reasonable time. My wife had fish. It was good. My aunt had Carne Asada, she said it was good. We ordered 3 beef Filets anticipating succulent delight. We 3 gentleman couldn't have been more saddened by the meal. Overcooked to zero pink after ordering medium rare. We could have sent it back but,..the filet was so tuff and stringy my father in law choked on his, I couldn't cut mine, and my other uncle just stared at it in disbelief. There was no recovering from this 440 peso disaster. Topolo. Take this off your menu or buy beef that hasn't worked a field the past 10 years. I have zero desire to return as my time in Mazatlan is short and I focus on telling others about and spending money at restaurants I truly want to return to, Your wait staff was good to us. But I will not be paying 900 pesos to be driven to you again. I will remember you as you were, not what I experienced last night.

Everything here from start of meal to finish was outstanding. I had the chicken with a corn fungus…read moresauce.
