Gaia is located next to a beautiful plaza in Mazatlan. The service was excellent but more importantly the food was delicious. I had the chicken piccata with capers that melted in my mouth. My friends food looked az as well. They ordered the capris salad that was enough to share between 3 people and was just stunning. Great prices as well.

Found this restaurant while strolling through the square, and we are so glad that we did! The service was very friendly and attentive to our needs, especially since our party had a baby to attend to. Staff went the extra mile to make sure we were all satisfied with our experience. The food can very confidently back up the service as well. The dumplings we got as appetizers were very flavorful and well prepared, although they didn't last long. The same could not be said about the main meal, where portions were hearty and packed full of flavor, as well as having great presentation. I had the beef tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly and served with a medley of supporting flavors that blended nicely with the dish. Overall, 10 out of 10 and would give 6 stars if I could. Will definitely be back one day!

This is a wonderful place with great food and great service! We ate outside facing the plaza and enjoyed live saxophone. My wife had the seasonal creamy pumpkin soup and panko chicken (the size of your head!) with citrus salad and mashed potatoes, and I had pork and shrimp empanadas and shrimp risotto. We don't normally take home leftovers but there was no way to finish with these portion sizes. All this food with 4 Negro Modellos, plus 2 desserts (to go of course) for 1000 pesos. Highly recommended!

Gaia is located in the beautiful Plaza Machado. This restaurant features a Eurofusion menu. The staff are amazing. They get to know their patrons well. We have come for many years and they always remember us and share what's new and delicious. I highly recommend the salad starters. The mixed greens salad comes with a delicious citrus vinaigrette. The roasted veggie salad is delightful. Filled with roasted bell and red peppers, zucchini, eggplant and other seasonal favorites with a balsamic vinaigrette. The pistachio crusted salmon dish served with jasmine rice and a roasted veggie blend is cooked to perfection and the perfect portion. They have a dessert for anyone's desire from a silky panna cota, chocolate lava cake, banana tart that is absolutely delicious to a wonderful perfectly sweet apple tart. Enjoy live music and dancing and the Plaza vibe. I highly recommend that you choos Gaia when in Mazatlan !

We got severe food poisoning from this restaurant. We ordered the rib eye steaks and felt very sick within 20 minutes after eating them (We know it was the steaks because we ate nothing else that afternoon/evening). We spent all night in the bathroom and were completely bedridden the next day. We missed out on two days of our vacation because of this, and had to spend a bunch of extra money at the pharmacy to treat our food poisoning. A very horrible experience and a very expensive meal that ruined part of our vacation. We even reached out to the restaurant about this and they just blew us off. Never again.

Nice mix of Mexican, Italian, and American fare, (tempura shrimp tacos, BBQ ribs, and pesto pasta with chicken breast), all great tasting with attractive presentation, by great service, in an atmosphere that felt classy but not pricey--and in the most happening place in Mazatlán on a Saturday night.

The ambiance here is perfect. The restaurant is located in a plaza with seating outside. There was live music playing and being Halloween it was lovely seeing all the children asking for treats. We ordered the shrimp and pork dumpling as an appitize and they were delicious. I ordered the shrimp risotto, it was flavorful but I was expecting the texture to be creamier. My husband ordered the rib eye and enjoyed it. The best part was the dessert - the Panacotta was absolutely delicious!!!

We ate a late breakfast at Gaia Bistrot. It was getting really hot, but we still opted for outdoor seating and it was actually really pleasant and beautifully decorated for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. I ordered the Chilaquiles and Machaca plate. It was good, but what I absolutely loved was the Café de Olla. The best one I have ever had!! The service was also very good. This is a beautiful restaurant located in the historic and beautiful Plaza Machado. read more

We came down to Old Mazatlan for dinner at Gaia at the suggestion of our concierge. What a great find! We loved Plaza Machado, which was still decorated for Dia De Los Muertos. Our table was out front on the patio, where a band was playing live music. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp risotto which was rich and creamy. My friend had the chicken pesto pasta which was good but a little lacking in flavor (salt). The focaccia bread they bring out is a little dry- but no big deal. We had flan for dessert which was also delicious. I'd definitely recommend Gaia for a nice night out - with many dinner options on the menu- in Old Mazatlan! read more

Excellent service and food! First time trying Ceviche, and it did not disappoint. They offer 2 preparations, I opted for the family recipe. Delicious! My partner enjoyed the grilled fish, beans, and salad. We will definitely be back! read more

TLDR - Top notch food, large portions, perfect service, a true Mazatlán gem. This was my wife's and my second time at Gaia's and it did not disappoint. We brought my parents with us, and getting them off resort is a struggle, so I had to sell the heck out of the food and the service. I was certain Gaia's was up to the task, and they hit it out of the park. My parents frequently eat at a restaurant that is a part of their resort and in the same building as Gaia's, so they knew the atmosphere was quintessentially Mazatlán at its finest. Meaning to impress them, the food had to be spectacular. We all had different soups or salads to start, I had forewarned everyone not to eat all their starters or too much of the wonderful breads as they will be too full for the main course, not all listened. My Mother had the pumpkin soup and I'm sure a main, but I don't think she had but 5 bites of her main after filling up on bread and soup, yead its that good and large. My father is usually "it was ok, kinda guy", but 3-months later he is still raving about the amazing chowder (he ate it all and part of the bread bowl) and how when he goes back, he's ordering 2 of them and a bottle of wine for his meal. I had the shrimp bisque it was most certainly the best I've had to date. I'm a savory person so the sweetness of the shrimp mixed with the spiciness of the bisque, complimented each other so well as to overcome my preference for salty. For my main course I had the angel hair pasta with seafood medley of scallops, muscles, shrimp, etc. in a cream sauce, as it was recommended by the waiter vs the red. I could not have been happier with the meal the seafood was cooked to perfection, the sauce was flavorful without overpowering the delicate scallops or shrimp, and the pasta was exactly al-dente, not easy for angel hair. My father had the steak. Coming from WY that's always a risk as we have our own beef, he raved about it and proclaimed it was perfectly done to his medium rare liking. He said recently this meal was the best he has enjoyed in their many vacations to Mazatlan. Our waiters were super attentive, insightful on menu suggestions, with service that left us not wanting for anything. They even took a couple chairs out to the curb for my parents to set on while we waited for a red pickup to take us back to the resort. A wonderful night, Gaia's will make any evening feel special. read more

A pleasant plaza view restaurant. We stopped by on a hot day to sit and relax and enjoy some bottled beer. The prices are reasonable so it's worth sitting down and relaxing rather than going to the neighborhood liquor store to try to save a few cents. read more

We so love this restaurant, their waiters and the food. I have only one judgement. Please change your menu occasionally. We have been coming here for years and same old, same old. This is okay if you are just catering to tourists but we live here and want to eat here. Please please put some new items on menu and BYW, try to improve that tomato soup. Terrible. read more

We just stopped in for drinks, 8pm, the place was packed. Live Band, small dance floor, it was fun. I had coffee with Kaluga & Grand Mariner. My bud had glass of white wine. $300 ps. The food looked amazing on the nearby tables. Heard good comments too. Very popular with tourists read more

What a great find! Vacationing with friends and looking for a place to cool off and eat. They were not even open and we were welcomed in. Great hospitality and very comfortable. Then the food... the grilled vegetable salad with balsamic dressing was very fresh with amazing flavors. Had the rib eye for the main course and it just melted in my mouth. Grilled mushrooms that accompanied the steak were buttery and delicious. read more

This restaurant was a fantastic find during our vacation! It's in a cute little square and when we went the streets along the square were closed and the area was set up with various vendors and live music, and all the restaurants placed tables in the street. The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing! My family all ordered something different and we all loved every bite, you can't choose wrong here! This was one of my favorite restaurants I've been too and it makes me sad that I don't even live in the same country. read more

The food, waiters and ambiance was just impeccable!!! The wait for our food was a little longer than we expected, but it was just fine. They brought us a nice appetizer on the house, which thought was very nice. Upon completion of our meal, the Head Chef came out to apologize for the delay in serving our meal. He explained they had 140 meals to serve in 2 hours. Naturally we said it was just fine and all 8 of us told him how delighted we were with the food and the experience. As we competed our desert and proceeded out of the restraunt, waiters thanked us for coming and hoped we enjoyed our meals, which we all did. Yes!! We will be back!! read more

The location is absolutely wonderful, in the evening there is lots of activity in the Square, lots of restaurants, lots of people looking around, very fun. We celebrated our anniversary and we're not disappointed. My wife had beef I had fried shrimp. Both were good choices. I am still getting accustomed to Mexican sauces however, the shrimp was delicious all by itself. I think I would have liked it better with some sweet and sour sauce and some french fries rather than the fancy-pants veggies and rice and sauce that it came with. For some reason locating that square was rather difficult, our Taxi Driver even had to ask instructions a couple of times. The night before we had wandered around the area and never stumbled upon it. If you go and you're not sure take a taxi or else you could end up walking down a lot of dark streets in search of this location. But you'll be happy when you find it. read more

My friend and I had a great lunch here. The ceviche appetizer was among the best we have ever had and the empanadas were tasty. The empanadas were light and had a great filling. I had a wonderfully cooked fish filet with an interesting side relish, rice, crispy potato sticks, and julienne vegetables. My friend tried the pasta with pesto and chicken. The pasta was al dente, as it should be, with the right amount of pesto sauce and nicely cooked chicken. We both enjoyed our meals with Cadillac margaritas and beer. We sat outside on the patio and people watched on the Plaza Machado. I recommend this restaurant and want to return. We were served by friendly and knowledgeable wait staff and the most awesome cook. read more

A group of 9 went to this restaurant for our anniversary on the 18th of November. The staff was wonderful with the service and the food was even better with beautiful presentation. The terrace was a perfect place to eat facing the square. The chef greeted us after we arrived and after dinner. Our servers could not have been nicer. The appetizers and soup were so good. We will happily go back next year when we return to Mazatlán and suggest other people enjoy this new lovely, and friendly place. Dan and Maria Murray read more

Very good food, beautiful presentation, excellent staff. This a a restaurant that you can enjoy on a special occasion without disappointment. We had two appetizers, empanadas and pork dumplings plus a salad and a clam chowder. The empanadas were excellent, light and flavorful. The dumplings were in a sauce that was a tad heavy with a very citrus flavor. We would have preferred a drizzle or a side for dipping, but the dumplings were swimming. The salad was beautiful with great flavors and a perfect balance of lettuce, salmon, avocado and dressing. The clam chowder, served in a bread bowl, was hearty and very good with a generous dollop of fresh clams floated on top. The Cadillac Margaritas were the best we have had in Mazatlan. The 4-star versus 5-star review is for 2 reasons. One the sauce being a little too much on the dumplings and two because the price is on the higher end for restaurants in Mazatlan, though still inexpensive when compared to what we normally pay for lesser meals at home in the USA. This is a place we will return to when we visit Mazatlan again! read more
