The best in all of PR. It's not fancy just great food with good local people. Plenty of space to eat. Junior is the best.

The arroz con gandules was very good. I liked the lechón but thought the skin wasn't crunchy enough.

The fabulous butcher, my wife and I.

I wish the proprietor would claim this site, I hope this review encourages others to visit! Do yourself a favor and Uber or drive to this restaurant for an authentic taste of island food! Such a great experience and food was amazing. While we visited late in the afternoon, the pork was still moist and packed with flavor. I commented to my wife that the rice & beans were the tastiest I've ever had. The blood sausage was also very flavorful! Employees don't speak much English, but I believe they appreciated our happiness with their food and even got a selfie with the butcher!

The lechón is sold by the pound. The rice is sold by containers. I think 16 oz? There is a bar in the inside which is always a plus. I ordered cranberry and vodka just because I didn't feel like asking for recommendations. The drink was $7 and it was super strong. Inside they have tables and the food was really good. I spend less than $40z . The $40 was enough for three adults and three kids. Will come back again.this review is based on my experience October 2019

If you want to taste LECHON asado without having to drive all the way to Guavate this is the place. Arrive at 12:00 if you don't want to stand in line for a few minutes. Best Roasted Pig you will taste near San Juan. Also you will find great views from lake Carraizo and the Carraizo dam. Its the country side near the city. this is an authentic puertorican lechonera. Cold beer, great food what else can you ask for..

Finally got a taste of the Puerto Rican signature dish - lechon! Aka whole roast pig. Tried a little bit of everything, recommended by their only guy that speaks English. The lechon is fully flavored, with crispy skin. Blood sausage, rice and beans, sweet potatoes, and the thing wrapped in a leaf... Everything tastes good! Next time we'll ask for more meat, definitely. Thumbs up to the friendly staff as well~ Will surely have lechon again next time I go to PR.

Crazy!! For my first review this lechonera was incredible! Rice was good and pork was an experience on its own..

Cleanliness and flavor. Rice with pigeon peas with a "apastelado" flavor and a good taste of the suckling "lechon".

This was a super random stop and we didn't really expect much out of it, but ended up utterly and pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the food was here. This is a simple food stand with outdoor seating that sits out front of a husband and wife's property. There is some room just inside the gate too to park your car. The wife was really friendly and is the one that cooked up our food for us. I got the chicharrones de cerdo (pork belly), which was served with name and other starches, along with macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't anything special, but everything else was absolutely superb. We had already eaten a lot of starches while in Puerto Rico and had been dying for some ketchup to douse it all in up to this point. The lady at La Parada cooked up the starches in a delicious way that didn't have me desiring for a condiment - it was delicious. The pork belly was also excellent. It's definitely not a health food, but is more than worth the calorie splurge. My husband got the guanimes with bacalao. The guanimes, a sort of corn concoction, were really good. The bacalao (shredded fish) was also pretty darn good. We tried out Mavi for the first time ever as well, which is a sweet fermented drink. Worth a shot at least once in your life. Of all the food we had during our week in Puerto Rico, this place is definitely a stand out. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
