If you have time to kill (I mean, absolutely no where to be for the rest of your day) and would like to enjoy a beautiful view of central PR, Casaju is a must stop. Unfortunately for my husband and I, we had a place to be and didn't plan on losing 3 hours of our day to Casaju. We were stuck at Casaju for so long, I got a sunburn... in the shade. I wish I was kidding. We waited about fifteen minutes for a table, and then were escorted by a very friendly manager to our table. The wait for service was proper Island time and was to be expected... but after the wait of almost TWO HOURS after ordering to get our food, Casaju put island time to shame. During our wait, my husband realized that he hadn't seen our waitress in quite some time. So long was our wait that I wondered if she went home and the restaurant forgot to make sure we got our ordered food. We didn't want to be those idiot Americans who complained about the Island time wait (we all have seen those reviews), so we sat and smiled and waited... and waited... and waited. Finally, our waitress reappeared and brought our food. At this point, I had gone beyond hungry, hangry, and then starving, and had now reached a full blown loss of appetite. Typically, when food is SO late to arrive, you would anticipate that it is freshly cooked due to a delayed kitchen trying to catch up... our plates were burning hot, like they had been sitting under a warmer for the last hour. Yikes. The ribs I ordered were very good, but pretty fatty and oddly missing the bones- my sour stomach could only handle three ribs before I had to tap out. The rice and beans that I ordered on the side were the worst I had in PR. Two wild dogs joined us on the patio, keeping us all company as we waited another thirty minutes for the check. We left running to the car, very sad to have lost the day to a mediocre meal... but I was even more sad to realize that I had been sitting in the shade for so long that the indirect Puerto Rican sun had burnt my entire body to a bright red crisp. Loved it here! We stopped on our way back to San Juan from Yabucoa. The restaurant is on a steep hill, but there is a parking lot, which is awesome. Our waitress spoke English which was awesome and the menu was a QR code available in both English and Spanish. My husband ordered a passion fruit frapp to start, which was amazing. I got stuffed mofongo with stewed beef and Cajun sauce, he got stuffed mofongo with chicken and we got rice and beans as a side to share. The food was AMAZING. So good! And there was plenty of it. We also got two lattes to go and they were so good. The view is absolutely beautiful and so worth the drive. Would highly recommend! read more

This open air restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food is phenomenal and the service is just as good. The owner came out to greet us and was so kind and welcoming. Wherever you plan to travel in PR you should definitely find this restaurant, even if it means going out of your way. If you plan to dine here just know that when you think you couldn't possibly be headed in the right direction...just keep going. You're almost there. Fantastic restaurant on top of a beautiful valley. Some of the best Puerto Rican food you will find on the island. Definitely recommend the trifungo and empanadas, they are both absolutely delicious. The seating is mainly covered outdoor seating but when you see the view, you will not want any windows. read more

Definitely 5 stars!! We came here during our vacation and the food was AWESOME! The tostones with pescado from the appetizer menu is INCREDIBLE! The freshest fish iv ever had! Service was great! Great views! Also the food was very good. Traditional creole cuisine, with the casaju twist. If dining with company, start with th casaju sampler. Great ropa vieja!! The best meal we've had on the island hands down. And that doesn't even speak to the view!!! I'm in love with churrasco but this, with the creamy sauce in mofongo was to die for. My husband had the salmon, which was also delicious! And after half a pitcher of house sangria, I was ready to spend the night on the multi-level decks. Well, it is like in the middle of a mountain, so if you care too much for your car, try to go in another. The view is beautiful. You always see large groups and entire families there. The service is very good too for being so crowded. I recommend the stuffed mofongo a la carbonara (chicken, shrimp or churrasco), the rabbit fritters, and sangria. read more

This is a very remote restaurant in Juncos, but let me tell you, it is a gem. The service was very helpful in explaining the food and giving insight in what is best. I had the "mofongo relleno de mariscado casajú" and it was amazing. Very good portion for the price. The view is even better. I would totally recommend it to locals and tourists alike. read more

Excellent, affordable, classic criolla food!!! I seriously recommend trying the empanadas of ropa vieja for appetizers. The calabaza soup with shrimps was also tasty.
